Lana, quite understandable that you are reluctant to leave the house during weekends after slogging through the week. Identical situation here.😃

The spider prank-what a terrifying incident it must have been for you since you have a phobia about insects. Must have taken you quite some time to calm down. The things kids do for fun. 😡

I dislike any flying creatures especially cockroaches ( = Lashy Sahiba ). 😆

But I find children nowadays hyperventilating at the sight of even the tiniest of bugs.😒

At least Vathsy's son has cute conversations with them while my nieces will be running for cover screaming at the top of their voices!😳

Vathsy- Yes, the ETAs are very independent. Travel plans for weekends and holidays are made well in advance. Since a car is also provided, there is nothing to stop them from touring the country.😊

The pool picture-can spend hours in a pool like that.😳

Mitu- you are also not well. 😭

Oh... my sons... are happy to pick up earthworms, snails and slugs in their bare hands... (we get plenty of them in the garden) They come and display it to me, proudly. All I say is 'Don't hurt them'
As I go for my nightly walks I cross many foxes too... thankfully, we don't have fear of dogs or cats either...
but they do have a spider phobia😆
and we ALL have a cockroach phobia! 😆
My mother is the Jhansi ki Rani of our house - when it comes to cockroaches - 'where's the pest?' she'll stand there with her broom!😆
My sister is like your nieces... all of a sudden, we'll hear a shrill screech from elsewhere and we know she spotted a flying bug of some sort!😆

I saw Padmavat today and i quite liked the movie.😲 I'm surprised myself.😕

Perhaps it was because i watched it with zero expectation or even negative expectation. 😔

Aunty, you were right. The bad boy was the hero.😆 He dominated the movie effortlessly. His crankiness does get overboard at times. But he has a dominating presence. And his timings and shameless evil make you fear and hate him immediately. A little more underplayed and it would have been iconic. Anyway, he is sure to sweep all the awards for negative role this year.👍🏼

And of course Deepika. She looked every inch the gorgeously beautiful queen for whom wars could be fought. Lives could be laid. And she was and looked brave, intelligent and wise as well and all this with quiet grace. She looked like a nymph in the forest scene. And breathtakingly beautiful in the final jauhar scenes. She is dignity personified. You ought to overlook a couple of scenes with Christmas tree attire though!😆

The sore point of the entire movie, the biggest let down was Shahid Kapoor. He doesn't look royal from any angle and least of all like one for whom the angelic Sinhal princess would flip for at first sight. H e is simply no match for Deepika. Something about his build makes him look funny in regal attire. His uni-expression doesn't help eith er. You feel like laughing when he his angry and banging your head when he utters words of heroism. His commander in chief Gora Singh looked more brave more proud and more impressive.

The charecterisation doesn't help either. Talking of principles and pride even after he has realised that the enemy has none. He doesn't heed to Padmavati's warning and insists on accepting Khilji's hospitality as he would otherwise be called coward and gets caught. After he is rescued from the prison in Delhi he insists on meeting Khilji before he leaves...as Rajputs don't run away 'peet dikhakar' and thus alerting the enemy and lessening the time for his warriors to defend.

The only purpose the scene served was giving Ranveer a scene to exhibit his comic timing. His 'dhat' when the king walks in when is in all expectation waiting for the queen all dressed up. At some point you inadvertantly begin to feel sorry for his continued failures in all his attempts to catch a glimpse of Padmavati dreaming pining and walking about with a lotus in his hand inspite of his evil quotient high on board.😆 Like SRK in Darr.

The initial scenes of Khilji capturing the Delhi throne were quite boring. And appeared to have been extended only to show how ruthlessly evil and morally depraved he was.

Overall the movie looks duller in shade compared to SLB's routine garish colours splashed everywhere. And the ambience is gloomy throughout. Perhaps to suit the looming end.

Deepika and Ranveer do not share one single frame together. All Rajputs have been depicted as brave and noble and Khilji as evil incarnate. Queen Padmavati has been portrayed and played with great dignity and respect. So really wonder what all the furore was about. 🤔

Leisure...hmmm...Rose, that is why I am here with you all! This is my leisure and therapy and chilling out session! 😃 I get to unwind myself, liberate myself and dip into the lake of creativity and shining in the aura of humour and laughter! 😛
But I am lazy bone, I don't feel like going out to have fun!! Actually, I work so hard all throughout the week that I don't feel like leaving the house on the weekends. Tomorrow is Saraswati Puja celebration here but most probably I will not go! Feel lethargic in getting dolled up and then drive all that way to attend the puja and catch up with friends. I am a complete homebody! 😃 And I will get solid thrashing I know for not showing up! 😛
