Really? 😲 I never heard that. Thanks for sharing here, Periamma! 🤗 Poem and picture both are perfect combo and beautiful!BTW, Is Maniam Selvam the one who did the paintings for Ponniyin selvan?Kalgi 22.Yes..It is said that the poster with this Kurunthogai poem is displayed in the London Tube train. This Manian selvan is the son of the famous artist "Maniam" who did the illustrations when Ponniyin Selvan was first published as serial in Kalki. This pic is from the historical serial "Veera VeL Paari.."now published in Ananda Vikatan.
I remember the name 'Maniam'. That's why got confused. Thank you for clarifying, Periamma! 🤗

Goodevening Lana, Vathsy, and Aparna 🤗
The name Maniam rang a bell. But was not sure. Thanks Kausi for asking & aunty for clarifying. How could I ever forget that signature of " Maniam" on most "Kalki" novels scribbled at the bottom.Thank you both for rekindling the memory of those lovely pics that brought the stories to life.********

Lana's thanksgiving OS:
Akbar still basking in the warm glow of the afternoon rendezvous hangover .
That goblet of sherbet definitely has a hand in it or is it his hand on it that is wreaking havoc on him?😉
Heera's untold happiness at his insightful gifts ; gifts which elevated him to the status of family in her eyes.😳
What wondrous and not- so- wondrous views were brought to her sight through the binoculars!😆
The binoculars made her fidgety but the magnifying lens did damage control to put everything back into its ahem mode and mood.☺️
So thankful are we for this gift -which I would gladly pass a turkey for !👏
Thank you Lana darling for being at our side ,keeping us smiling always! ❤️
Lashy Sahiba 🤗
Rose - Not only you have given a wonderful review of Lana's OS but said it very beautifully.👏

[pic courtesy: Ananda Vikatan. Artist: 'Manian Selvan']A poem from the Tamil literature, "Kurunthogai." It is a collection of poems written by various poets at different periods of time."Yaayum, yaayum yaaragiyaro?
My mother and yours, what were they to each other?
Endhaiyum, nundhaiyum emmuraikkeLir?
My father and yours, how were they kin?
Yaanum, neeyum, evvazhiyaRidhum
I and you, how do we know each other? (And yet)
Sempula peyaneer pola
Like water that has rained on the red fields
Anbudai nenjamthaan kalandanave!
Our hearts in their love, have mixed together.!"

(The London Tube, as the underground metro train service is known, was started in 1863 and now covers 408 km. It is the lifeline of the city. When the transport authorities began paying attention to the interior of the coaches, they instituted prizes for the best advertisement posters. In 1986, encouraged by the Poetry Society, short poems of five or six lines were displayed in a special show. This poem features in the London Tube. (Source:The HINDU))
