In principle, you are right Lana... and don't worry - it did not take anything away from your lovely OS one bit...

But, keeping the Mansabdar's room locked every time he was away, wouldn't be practical... it'd raise more questions... and draw more attention to his secretive lifestyle. (As it is, they must be aware that he's quite reclusive)

Especially since this was a culture that considered it 'not good' to lock doors... (Except for the main door/gates - havelis/houses/palaces rarely had doors for any room except the store room to keep rats out. And even those that had doors, didn't use them - only curtains for privacy)

You know how it's considered 'not good' to allow dust to accumulate and not clean a room etc, right?

So, I imagine he wouldn't lock his door - though he does have a man or two guarding his chamber when he's around doing official stuff.

Even the day when Heera visited him, the open scrolls were only mundane 'Mansabdar' business matters, not intelligence stuff. 😉

You're right, as CIO, he can't afford to keep any of his top secret stuff lying around. In fact, he doesn't keep it in the haveli. It's all in the camouflaged 'hideout'. Others assume it's just a store room, but Heera who knows what he does for a living, realises it's true function. Hence the -

it's used for the confidential meetings, to stash intelligent secrets and other darker stuff. And that's why Heera also sighs 'No wonder... no one's noticed anything unusual!'

As in, her maids/guards haven't come across anything unusual in and around his chamber - even the couple of times, they might have gone in just to clean/change sheets whatever!

Ok as a friend I have to warn you Pallavi, someone is taking you for a ride for sure!! 😲 So beware! Let me tell you, this 6ft 5in man is not swayed by anyone except for his Begum Sahiba! 😉 He is not the rendezvous type nor belong to the night outing category with any other female! If you approach him for that you will hear in a rich baritone, "Not interested". So all your plans have gone down the drains! 😆 If it was NJAPA or PBD Jalal they would have flirted with you tooth and nail but this guy is made up of another material altogether and that is the reason I have flipped for him! 😉😆 He is not easily budged from his moral and ethical standards. And I am also following him in his nightly escapades, so your cosying with him at night is also not possible!! 😆

Okay gotcha!! But if his room was open I couldn't have incorporated the tunic scene! She would not have gone to his room, just like that!

One thing amazes me, there were no doors to any room! Haila!! There would be no privacy! I can't imagine living in a house without doors! I remember in JA show they did show no doors but there used to be guards and still I would think any Tom, Dick and Harry can walk in or out from wherever. I simply hope in the bathroom they had doors or that would be open too!!?? 😲
