There is so much about him that's the effect of his past - the inability to sleep... the nightmares... the deliberately living a dangerous life (because he doesn't care if he ends up dead) -

all that is mentioned in one of the earlier chapters...

when he looks into the mirror, he looks at his scars, and compares them with the scars in his life - that is what it is!

He might have lost his home even if he was orphaned and might want to save other's homes. The abuse by other family members can make him ruthless too. ( Sandy wonders when he was ever ruthless...🤔... blunt, yes. Indifferent, yes. But ruthless? He did break Gafhoor's wrist, but Gafhoor was wrong. Otherwise AMK is a noble soul)

Why will he be ruthless to his friends/men? And most of the story, it's about his friends/men... the enemies we haven't seen too much!

But, he's isn't merciful to his enemies (not torturous like the Shehzaade, but not merciful either)... for instance, that bar-lady who was supposed to kill him - he knew she was forced to do what she was doing... and that she was going to die - he didn't go on a let's rescue her mission... even though he easily had the resources to save her and turn her into one of his spies/loyalists too...

Instead, he left her there... to die!

what he does to his enemies.. if I start writing about in detail, I doubt I'll have many interested female readers reading... I received complaint, even for what he did to Khalil (the torture)!

The scars and tortures given to him by outsiders or someone who doesn't matter to him is of no significance but when a desertion comes from your mother that makes the biggest blow to one's soul! I am happy he has turned out to be a noble just soul instead of a low life creature which he could have turned out easily under the circumstances! And the most amazing fact is he has this IMMENSE RESPECT for women in general which is beyond comprehension after all that he has been through!

Just one quick answer -

Heera is stubborn.. silently stubborn... she decided to stop calling him Khan Sahib when she found out he was Ustaad... till now... even in front of others, it's always been Mansabdar Sahib (with a bit of a taunt)... 😉

Others wouldn't suspect a thing... but AMK knows

Officially/unofficially/private/public jo bhi ho... first time, it was first time she uttered 'Khan Sahib'
