Thanks, Lana Di! 😃 So how's everything at your end?

Shagun it is relaxing at my end! Watching Mahabharat DVD and enjoying the show. Though they changed the story and sequences a lot from the original book but the presentation was good and I liked the actors. 😃

How are you? All cool and relaxed? 😃

My guess is if SL is affected by the rains then it is going to move towards south of India as well! Respite from the summer heat for you all but at the same time stay safe and take care.

2 years now Chennai has been affected by floods though the first year was of course infinitely worse... (and both times, it was in December)
but the cyclones are almost a yearly affair in the TN/Andhra/Odisha coastal belt..

Itz State of Tamilnadu it will hit first iff it crosses over...and presently we're drought- hit...so we can lap up whatever comes our way😆...

On a serious note...we've got a cyclone warning...

Usually that is the route it takes! I know the rains will give you all a respite from the summer heat.

Talking of flash floods and Cyclones... I was just researching on how iron ore mining affects hills and valleys... and came across these pictures on the net... how much it reduces the greenery, changes the scenery, destroys rain-forests [and thus causes such natural disasters like flash floods and landslides!!!]
These are pictures from Kuduremukha - a mountain range and name of a peak located in Chikkamagaluru district, in Karnataka. It is also the name of a small hill station cum mining town situated near the mountain.

[Look at the green mountain and the red mountain behind it]

Here, the locals protested against the mining company and preserved the National Park.
See what happens to the water supply when mining...
