My guess is if SL is affected by the rains then it is going to move towards south of India as well! Respite from the summer heat for you all but at the same time stay safe and take care.
2 years now Chennai has been affected by floods though the first year was of course infinitely worse... (and both times, it was in December)
but the cyclones are almost a yearly affair in the TN/Andhra/Odisha coastal belt..

Talking of flash floods and Cyclones... I was just researching on how iron ore mining affects hills and valleys... and came across these pictures on the net... how much it reduces the greenery, changes the scenery, destroys rain-forests [and thus causes such natural disasters like flash floods and landslides!!!]
