C29- The chapter that showcased the mother of all confrontations between the leads.

It was UAMK's day of reckoning, no doubt.

The Sahib's frustrations were clearly evident. With the Sahiba's wrath reaching manic proportions, he had to try every trick in the book to get her to come round to his point of view - he pleaded, he cajoled, he explained, he confessed, he reasoned ,he promised, he offered himself as target to vent her rage but nothing seemed to appease or calm down our young Sahiba.

While her feeble attempts to harm him physically hardly ruffled his feathers, the relentless volley of accusations hurled at him hit hard. It was all he could do to rein in his temper to diffuse an extremely volatile situation. He had to temper his retorts with common sense and had to play it by the ear to make the best of the decidedly unpleasant confrontation. It was too much, too soon for the poor Sahiba to digest , with her physical state not helping matters.

Unable to effectively counter all the allegations that she levelled at him, he was forced to employ a different strategy. With the soft approach not swaying the Sahiba, it was time to play hardball. His headstrong and determined girl had to be kept in check and if he couldn't appeal to her sense of reason, then so be it- he will don the mask of the shrewd and calculating trader that he was to chalk out a deal that would be beneficial to both.

Heaven has no rage, like love to hatred turned, nor hell a fury , like a woman scorned ( Quote : The Morning Bride by William Congreve ) . Heera's rage and fury are completely justified. So he is now Ustaad Sahib , not Khan Sahib anymore. She will rise like a phoenix from the ashes for her beloved people and her lands. Would we expect anything less from Harka Bai who shares the same blood as Durga Bai?

The ways of the treacherous heart are indeed baffling- while for him it is his motivation ; for her it is the reason for her rejection.

Thank you darling author, for this high-octane chapter which had the reader hyperventilating in its intensity of raw emotions displayed. 🤗

Be that as it may, I will be drifting contentedly on Cloud 29, with his husky "Heera" and all those sweet words he whispered in her ears, ringing in my ears and the dreamy teaser pic within my line of sight, until C30.

Finally I have finished reading the update to my heart's content, with most of the bits and pieces off the reviews!

I'm afraid, I wouldn't be writing any thing sufficient or proper to define the realms of dreaminess this chapter touched, the emotions it ventured to express and how they were expressed too! Just like everyone have aptly pointed out, they were like two magnets, desparate break out of each other's aura, one in despise, other in desperation - yet they found equilibrium in each other, support in the other's strength, and flutters in the other's assurance - an irony it was, an irony for which none of them had any regrets whatsoever! She knows it in the heart of her hearts, she might be hurt in his love, but never neglected.

Such beauty you have woven in two colors - so bright, that there was nothing left colourless!

They were like colors - one too learned in miseries to blend, another too weary to blend - in liking or in moments most disparaging, they make the most vibrant shades ever born out of two colors - they're born to blend, in which ever possible way, that might be - their mind games, a dark, deep hue of passion gathering strong and delectable and their undercurrents of sensation - her name in his murmur, his chin and her borla, blend into the soothing tinge of blushing cheeks, subtly spreading!
