Acute Chronic Eccentric Imagination disorder
"Phew... It's Monday. At least I can sit in one place for long time!!" Jodha heaved a sigh of relief thinking her busiest weekend with her bestie's wedding as she heading to office in a Three-Wheeler. She couldn't help but recall her parent's sad faces when they have been asked by almost everyone about that one query "When is your daughter's big day?"
"Hmm!" she sighed, "It's been 2 years since the engagement was called off." Jodha remembered the arguments she had with her parents to go for work after finishing her post graduate but alas her parents didn't agree.
Jogesh and Tharani didn't like to send her daughter far away in the name of work. She's their only child and they always see her as a blessed gift of their love life. Even her name was taken from joining their first letters. They always wanted to see her in front of their eyes. So when the proposal came from one of the prominent family of their status that too from their town, they happily accepted. On the other hand, Jodha tried all her tricks to pacify her parents but miserably failed. Hence she agreed to marry at least to entertain herself than just sitting and wondering what to do next.
Sometimes fate has different plans for you! Jodha amused thinking her father's firm decision to call off the engagement when they got to know about groom's affair. "If it's another girl, definitely she would have cried alone at least for an hour but what I did was preparation for another set of arguments to go for work." She stealthily grinned at the opportunist in her.
When she came up with the new set of points, she sprinted out in search of parents but what she saw was, tugged her heart. "Paa... Maa... What happened now?" She screamed gazing at parents' long faces that immersed in full of guilt. "Actually we've to be happy now. We got to know about him even before the engagement. Otherwise I don't know how my life would be with that coward." Shaking her head as to get out from the trauma that mere thought caused, she continued, "and most importantly how come an angel already living in heaven go to hell that is full of evils?" She playfully winked at her mother. The already anxious Tharani ran and hugged her daughter tight as like hiding her from the evils. "Argh!!! Maa... My bones!" she teased wiping off the tears from mother face.
Silently thanking god with moist eyes, Jogesh side hugged his daughter. "Chellam... We are so happy that you look at it in a positive way" the doting father proudly said caressing her head. "Paa... I'm your child right?!" Jodha smiled, resting head on his shoulder. "Yeah yeah I always forgot that you're not taken from garbage can" he jested. "Paa..." She cried placing her hands on hip and making a puppy face.
Lovingly watching her daughter's cute antics, Tharani thoughtfully called "Jomma" Puzzled Jodha, directed her glances straight at her mother because it's very rare her mother calling her Jomma. If she does, then she is going to talk something very serious. She looked up to her father questionably but her father chuckled seeing her daughter's face and assured her by blinking his eyes.
Taking a deep breath, Tharani uttered "Jomma you only wanted to work but we did the great mistake by choosing this proposal for our selfish rea..."
"Maa..." Jodha abruptly stopped her mother, "Remember I also whole heartily agreed to marry. So don't try to blam..."
"Chellam... Let amma finish. It's actually good news for you!" Jogesh built up the suspense. Getting the cue, "Ok ok... Enough is enough!!" with a mischievous grin, Tharani happily announced, "So, in order to broaden our search of Prince charming for our princess of heart, we thought of sending her to exile in the name of work; so that both parties will go through probation period of separation till Prince charming making his grand entry!!" Jodha's eyes widened in surprise.
"That doesn't mean we restrict you from bringing Prince charming all by yourself" Jogesh playfully winked, "and we don't mind even if you say that your beautiful eye beggar as your better half" with that all of them broke into a bout of laughter.
Happy memories rejuvenated Jodha's senses. "Maa... Paa... I just wanted some industrial experience and few contacts but I gained more than I wanted. Only one more certification I will happily back to your cocoon and will start on working my dream digitalization of my village. Even I'm ready to marry the man of your cho..."
"Miss!!" Driver's call snapped her out from the reverie. "Miss... we can't take a turn here!!"
"Yeah Anna... It's restricted in peak hours but we can take 'U' turn in next signal." Driver perplexed hearing her strange reply. She zipped her lips tight and turned her face away not to erupt her chuckles out. "Who in the earth prefer traveling 500m more that too in the snail pace traffic rather taking few strides across the road? You're a gone case Jodha!" She self-chided, "But I'm too tired for anything!! Let's pay some attention to road side Romeos!!"
Relaxing herself in that not so comfortable seat, she lazily watched the bustling view on her opposite direction. Life in the city is always challenging though it has its own advantages still... The Noise... The Smell... And the traffic but if you're not in a hurry, you can enjoy traffic jams also. As she was screening the morning rush, something caught her attention. "What's that?" She leaned forward to get the better view. "Woah!! It's Jaguar!!" Her lips curved into a beautiful smile. Weren't Jalal and Jaguar inseparable?? Recalling the favorite line from her favorite novel, she went on checking further. "My my... It's the latest sport model. Sleek and seductive as advertised!" With the smile of satisfaction, she was about to check the interior.
"Oh My God!!!" Jodha's eyes widened. "Shit!!" She was highly embarrassed by her act. With the extra shades of cheeks and tightly closed eyes she swiftly turned aside and hit her forehead hard. "What I did??" She squeezed her eyes further. "Think twice before act but why I always end up feel twice after done" But her eyes widened again remembering the ambiance she was in. "Oh no... Not again!!" She stealthy examined driver's face. As expected his bewildered expression!! She quickly seized her mobile and laughed her heart out by looking at the metallic piece.
9:00 AM, 11th floor, Titan Tower.
"Good Morning Jo!! You already came?? But where's your car? It's not in the parking." Rukmani screamed as she walked in. "Good Morning Rukku!! My car is out for a regular checkup." She winked at her pal while munching the last piece of sandwich.
"You mean service??!!" She chuckled as she leaned against the wall. "Between, how was the wedding Jo?"
"Full of fun but hell of work!!" She sighed patting her hands with tissue. "So you tell me... how was the year end party last Friday? It seems half of the office still in a hangover."
"Hey!!" She suddenly remembered. "Did you check Whatsapp?? You w..."
"Tring... Tring... Tring... " Rukmani abruptly stopped hearing the landline and cursed her exceptional memory once again.
"Good Morning Surya!" Jodha answered her extension thinking of the reason for her superior's call.
"Congratulation Jodha!! You've been awarded Employee of the year!!" Jodha pupils widened hearing the good news.
"Really?" She looked up at her friend for a confirmation. Rukmani once again cursing her memory nodded in a yes.
"Yes of course! You've exceptionally performed well Jodha. It's especially for your HRM software development which cut down the huge cost on our group of companies" Surya uttered proudly on the other side of the line.
"Thank you Surya" Jodha gleamed in happiness.
"And your trophy... you can collect it from boss."
"Oh... Then do I have to go to Head office?" Jodha disappointed thinking of traveling.
"No. Boss is already here for an inspection of new construction site. After a meeting with our Head he will call you. So be at office. Don't go for site." He instructed.
"Ah okay and thank you Surya for your support and guidance."
"It's my pleasure Jo!!" Surya uttered in joy.
"Ah not again!! As like He Surya and Me Jodhika!!" She mattered under breath. "Bye!" She abruptly disconnected the line. Rukmani giggled seeing her face but before forgetting again, "Congratz Jo!! We're so happy for you and we want party!" She asked with her ultra-cute smile.
"You forgot to inform me but never ever forget to ask for party!" Jodha shrugged.
"Hello madam... Check your mobile for god shake. How many calls, SMSs and WA" She countered hands on hips, "I don't know where you are going when you say going hometown... Home or Mars?"
"Calm down baby, calm down!" Jodha quickly stopped the infuriated pal and wisely changed topic, "So anything special at party?" and her trick worked. "Yes I've a sensational news for you!!" taking a seat near Jodha, she dreamily whispered.
"Sensational news? What's that?" Jodha intrigued.
"We have got smokingly hot new BOSS... My God! He is the handsomest man I've ever seen. Uff" She mimicked fanning herself.
SMOKINGLY HOT. A masculine form with cute frowned face flashed in Jodha's mind. "If I could kiss that contracted brows..." She unconsciously closed her eyes in that passionate imagination. "What??" She terrified by at the same time. "I think I'm also suffering from Acute Chronic Eccentric Imagination disorder!" Expelling her thoughts, "then what happened to our old boss?" she sounded worried but her friend presumed her terrified expression as her worry for old boss.
"Who care to know about that oldie" Rukmani replied casually but Jodha terrified hearing her reply. "And you will be surprised if I tell our new boss's name" she added with subtle smile.
Jodha took few seconds and uttered "What? So you aren't worrying about old boss. How faithless?!" She wondered. Greatly disappointed Rukmani exclaimed "Uffo Jo... It's time for his retirement. Leave him. You know new..." She eagerly started but Jodha again abruptly stopped her. "So what? At least we have to know the reason behind this takeover right?" She clarified.
Rukmani shook her head and yelled "Jodha if I'm telling you something just listen... don't investigate me!" She disappointingly stated. Jodha chuckled lovingly watching her infuriated friend. "So you want me to be like our PM Krishna. No matter whatever silly things you say but just listening you with permanently glued smile." She teased.
Rukmani gasped and felt the heat around her cheeks struggling to retort back she averted her face to avoid the piercing gaze of her pal. To her luck, the parcel in Jodha's table caught her attention. She gleamed in happiness. "Is it Aunty's special thadda vadai?" She quickly seized the parcel and tried to run away from there before giving away anything to her intelligent buddy. "Hey it's not only for you!!" Jodha yelled. "No worries Jo. I'll take my portion and share the rest" She yelled back as she escaped.
11:00 AM, 15th floor, Titan Tower.
Tuck! Tuck! Jodha knocked boss's temporary cabin. After giving ample time for occupant, taking a deep breath she stepped in. "It's HE!!" Her beats fasten and mini cyclone formed inside her stomach. As gesture of welcoming the guest he got up and looked up to her. THEIR EYES MET. However hard she tried her expressive eyes not deceive him she's also equally surprised by his appearance.
Having witnessed the eternal prolonged eye lock, third spectator in the room thought of making the couple aware of his presence. Extending his hand for a handshake, he introduced himself, "Hello Jodha! This is Abdhulla" taking the opportunity to compose herself, she happily shook hand. "Hi Abdhulla! It's nice to meet you." With the sweetest smile of hers she then turned to him.
"Hi... JODHA AKBAR" He extended his hand but she froze once again. A baritone continuously echoed "JODHA AKBAR" She astounded. "AKBAR??!! Seriously? Wait did he say Jodha Akbar as a one word or is there some gap? My my... Is it all coincidence or am I suffering from Acute Chronic Eccentric Imagination disorder? " She terrified. While she's busy fighting on her world, Akbar and Abdhulla silently exchanged the glances.
10Mins before.
"Ok Akbar then I'll send Ms. Jogesh now" uttering those Head of the Department was about to leave "Who's Jogesh?" Abdhulla asked confused. "She's the winner of Employee of the year award. Akbar said he will hand over the award when he visits here." Having said that he waited for Abkar's confirmation.
"Yeah... Please send her now." He dismissed the subordinate and looked up Abdulla with mischievous smile. "So this is the sole reason for this unnecessary inception and meeting!! But May I know from when Mr. Akbar turned Romeo" Abdhulla intrigued. Akbar with lopsided grin averted piercing gaze of Abdhulla. "Let's say from the moment I heard THAT NAME... JODHA... I don't know why but I wanted to meet her. A curiosity may be!"
"How many girls tried their luck to get one glance from you but just one name? You're all the way here." He sighed in relief finally his buddy paying attention to something beyond business.
Present
"Jodha!" the echoed baritone this time successful in taking her to the reality, she looked up the hand waiting to intertwine with the fasten beats and reformed cyclone in stomach she extended her hand. He grasped her hand firmly and she felt his warm. The warm touch rejuvenated her senses. Jodha met his deep eyes and gulping down the lump she said, "Hi Akbar!!"
"Take a seat, Jodha" Abdhulla tried to ease her mind. After few casual talks, "so what's your next plan Jodha?" he asked in utmost friendly manner but Jodha perplexed "How do I tell that I'm going to resign?" unable to come up with the immediate reply she struggled, "I... I want..." but Akbar came to her help. "She want to buy Jaguar, Abdhul. Actually she's looking for one." He casually said.
"Damn it!!" She felt the burning sensation around her cheeks. She remembered reading somewhere as to control the blood flow she pressed her big toe so hard, cursing the shameless act of staring at his car early in the morning.
"I don't think so, Akbar" Abdhulla doubted, "Actually Jodha is looking for Akbar who rides Jaguar!!"
That's it. "God!!" all her futile attempts failed. Her heart bumped with extra force making her cheeks utmost shades of red. Akbar amused remembering how many emotions she showed him in fraction of second earlier. Childlike eagerness, satisfaction, shock, shame and shy and now she was showing him variant shades of red. "My my!!" he once again lost his heart to this eternal beauty. Unable to hold intensity of his gaze she looked aside muttering under breath "Jahnu!!!"
PS: It's solely because of my Acute Chronic Eccentric Imagination disorder's side effects. 𤣠If anyone want to throw tomato or eggs in worst case... just throw it to Lashy or Jahnu. They are the root causes!
