Lashy di,

A congratulations to you, dear Author, for successfully completing 1/4th of this historic, yet epic love saga!!! May this story be immortalised, just like NJAPA!!!😳

There was always this lingering doubt as to Khan Sahib's original profession, and how he managed to set up such a flourishing business without any legacy whatsoever!! Now that all doubts are laid to rest, at least, for the time being, I admit like every one else... I had imagined anything, but not Khan Sahib as the revered Ustaad!!! This for you Suspense-thriller-e-khaas 👏👏

As to my take on this shock inducing update... I, with all respect and reverence, would like to steal a few words from Shyamala Aunty's dictionary, and express all that I want to 😉
So dear di, again on a general reference, the game of Ganjifa, was more like a game of chess... so with you as the sole player of this game, and readers being mere spectators, I tell you, you're the Shatraanj ki Khiladi!!!👏

The King...
A few minutes into the game of chess, and the pawns are spread into their respective arena, all over the board... erecting defence and pulling and repelling each other, as though bound by some invisible thread, and the best of players, it is said, feel every impulse of this invisible tug of war, with every nerve of theirs!!! Our Dark King here is the Shehzada, controlling all else, employing shrewd strategies, yet restricted from moving around... so he takes the assistance of two Rooks, the pillars of defence, and watches the game in silence... often pitting one against the other... other times sharpening his skills and sometimes, like this one rare occasion... laying down the Cards on the Table!!😉

The Rook...
He plays straight, bouncing off all the hues of a kaleidoscope, He is dark, sheathed in mystery... walls of resistance shooing off intruders if any, and even manages to keep the readers, guessing.Speculating. Wondering. Marvelling, till comes the first inkling of doubt...

ANY thoughts on her? Well, he had plenty. Plenty of news and updates too that he
could convey if he wanted to, as part of idle talk. After all, he'd stumbled
across quite a few small facts about her over the past two weeks, which they
hadn't known about at the start...

'I am blind... actually, partially blind!'

Finally as the name is revealed, putting all doubts, if any remaining, in reader's mind, to rest... we are positively left... Surprised. Shocked. Stunned. Amazed. For this is Amazing at its best!!!👏

The Dark Pawn...

Well what can he do more than what he has already done in this chapter... and what he did so far... in fact Tej Raj, his cousin, is a better pawn, I'd say 😆... in judging the moves! Anyways, pawns are crucial, though shrunken and small, they're very capable of awarding a Check, at most!! That too a pawn associating with the Crook of the Rook(Khalil)! Let's see what moves it has in store😛

The Dark Knight... moves two and a half forward ... then, two and a half backwards... and the White Queen beats the Dark Rook!!!

That was quite an entertaining move, before drawing down the curtains for intermission... a soothing, and refreshing sight, both for the Rook and the spectators... the mind games... winning and winning by giving in... if such delicacies are presented on every home coming occasion, no doubt, He would love to come back home again, and again!!!😳 The Knights of the Dark side, have already shifted sides... sometime around the Rook will follow suit! What say?!

So I end it here... and till the curtains are raised again... let's keep guessing!!! Thank you for this splendid chapter... and Eid Mubarak!!😳

Though well aware of what is right and what is not, Karna had to stand up for his not-so-righteous master only due to gratitude... it was for Kunthi that he had to make a choice of sides and he ended up chosing what is morally right for him...

Akbar would be in similar situation for Heera one day and it would be interesting to see love winning over gratitude.. 😳

Beautiful thoughts, Jahnvi di👏👏👏

@bold... it's such an unusual comparison, and yet it's very very correct!!!

I now have an emergency with the pumps in our building to tackle, which is likely to take the rest of my day, but see how serendipitous it was that I have stumbled on your take, my very dear girl, and all by myself too! Another day and I would not have been back here any longer, for my head spins at the sight of the galloping page numbers!😉So unless you had PMed me, I would have missed this gem.

It is so marvellously fresh and so delightfully written, Adwitiya, that I was both taken aback and enchanted. See, did I not tell you that you should write yourself? The matching of the characters and the chess pieces is very clever, especially for Mahendar. But no, Tej Raj would not be a substitute for this pawn.

One question, who are the Dark Knights - in the plural - who have already changed sides? I can spot only one, Bahadur.

Then will come the question of who is to be the Dark Queen, if any. But that is for another day.

Shyamala Aunty

Thank you Aunty for reading my post... I am elated that you liked it!

For the Knights, one is certainly Bahadur, the other one was a vague reference to the Marwari racer, which belonged to Khan Sahib, but then was won over by Durga bai, it had served her very loyally till the very end. Don't know if it is justified, but that was my thought! 😕

As for the Dark Queen... it's not any character, not in my line of thought, at least, I say, it's The Shehzada winning over the Farman, that'd give him vast rights!! Just like the Queen of Chess.

No, Tej Raj, would never substitute Mahendar... that's very firm and right.

I wonder why you didn't ask anything about the White King... it's the independence and existence of Parnagarh, I'd say!!!😳

(It is a beautiful morning. Divya,Sandya, Lashy and Baubles are chatting.)

Lashy: Hi friends..
Divya: Hi Lashy, Thank you for the wonderful chapter...It was like you are playing cards with us.. You were holding the cards close to your chest...
Sandya: Yes Lashy, You have played very well.. Even I couldn't guess that Akbar was Ustad..You have moved the story so cleverly..
Baubles:But from the information I could gather from the earlier chapters, especially chapter 8, when Ustaad was introduced to us for the first time., I had a hint that the person's characteristics resembled close to Akbar... He was shown as a perfect warrior having great knowledge about weapons and all that..and his immediate reaction at the mention of Heera's name by Khalil and and what he would do it to her ..
Lashy: Yes ...I knew.. but at that stage, I didn't want to be open about it...I had to keep it away from the attention of the readers for some time to maintain the suspense about Akbar and his back ground..You might have noticed that I revealed information about him only in bits and pieces.. He was known to the Parnagarh folk only as a horse trader with lots of money but no family background... and then I informed the readers that he had a bitter childhood..
Sandya: Yes Lashy! We know Akbarkhan only as a horse merchant with a torn childhood , simple tastes, loyal but a recluse..But both these men are the same one is a twist that can challenge any author of a suspense thriller.. We can now understand that the forest encounter and their riverside meeting were only planned coincidences!
Divya: Yes..Lashy is very manipulative with her cards!.. but, I guess, that , Akbar will be in a dilemma about his loyalty towards the Shezaade and his attraction toward Heera whom he is asked to protect and to spy at the same time..
Baubles:Yes.. for the first time someone had come between him and his duty..The shezaade has done a lot to this tortured 13 year old boy..I feel that Akbar does all he has been asked to do by the prince and is even ready to lay down his life for this man..more because he is indebted to him for everything he has been made into..than because he has that kind of high regard for him..
Divya: And.. what will be Heera's reaction when or if she comes to know of it? Her giggles did not realize that the person who she feels has brought back life to Aidabad is actually a Shezaade's spy against her and her homeland.. I feel that the best place for her is to stay at Aidabad , which is the safe place from Khalil and Mahendar..
Sandya: Yes.. he wants to run away from the charms of Heera- may be to save himself within the cocoon he made for himself...He couldn't be loyal to two people at the same time..The Chief Intelligence Officer is going to face the biggest battle not just of his mind and heart, but of his loyalty and love! Duty versus humanism! Poor Akbar!
Lashy: Well.. Well... my dear girls.. if you go on like this and predict the future of the story, I'm afraid I may not be having anything to show as suspense and hold the readers in my grip!😆 That's why I have not written the whole novel in one complete shape, but chose to develop the plot as and when situation changes..If I want to maintain the suspense, I need to carefully restrict the flow of information to the readers..I very firmly follow the rule," Show and don't tell"..Something interesting has happened to my hero, that has changed his fate, and I have shown it in my battle camp scene. It is up to you to read the interesting part of the story from the scene..So my dear friends.. wait patiently for the future chapters with your fingers crossed..Okay?

Karkuzhali.

( This is the outcome after reading the wonderful reviews, comments and analyses of the beautiful chapter 15 of HBAS by the readers. Sorry I had to use the I/D name "Baubles" here , as I do not know her actual name. Hope she doesn't mistake me..
KK.)
