Why not..? It's not a big deal for EK. In color's Ashoka also, some foreign actress is playing that role. It won't look realistic if she casts an indian actress for this role.

Frankly rajat won't look good opposite any actress foreign actress
Till date no actress from foreign gas bagged lead roles because this is Indian television
From every angle viewers love to watch Indian faces
May be a actress with with white skin tone can be bagged
