"280! Finally! "The bibliophile saw the page no.,huffed and kept the book aside. She glanced at the clock. 6:30. glancing at the door once more she started toying with the blanket. The impatient lady looked up at the screeching of the door. "Ma.." She uttered. "Everything Fine?"Asked the tender mother. "My eyes are paining."said the girl rubbing her eyes, after a long book reading session. "It's obvious Jodha. I am constantly telling you to keep this soft back aside... But who cares.. I'm just blabbering rubbish..." said the angry lady. "You know na ma I can't resist once I get a novel... And when it's my favourite one then it becomes impossible..." the lass tried to defend herself. But Alas! Her mother was well aware with all her tactics. "Hm.. That's why I was demurring about buying a book for you when you are here in the hospital. But Jalal loves to pamper you." The mum was still irate but a saviour came.
"Sorry Jo.. I'm late." Apologized Jalal, when he noticed his to be MIL sitting there, indiginant. The lad gestured his lassie about why was her mother so furious to which she showed the book with a puppy face. He guessed what exactly would have happened. The young man sat on his knees to start with his mission "Cajole Ma". The duo was about to start their mission when the irritated brother entered in and Jodha couldn't control her laughter, once more. Yes, once more. After their argument or to be precise catfight in the afternoon, jodha always broke into giggles when she saw her brother's irritated face, which was indeed funny.
Maina knew what was the matter all about, even she joined Jodha. But Jalal?He was alien to his laughing session. The confused man looked at the faces of the three people trying to pretend what exactly has happened, when the vexed man snapped, "Shut up you mother-daughter duo." But, instead of lessening down, the intensity of chuckles increased. Knowing that he was helpless, Raj went out again.
"What's the matter? Why are you two laughing like maniacs?" questioned the muddled man.
Maina looked towards the source of voice and saw Jalal with a questioning look on his face.
"I'll explain you everything." popped in the other girl. "Beta! I think we both should leave. Then you continue with your day's report to him." Said the mother standing up to go. "Why so early today Ma?" asked the worried girl. "Nothing serious beta. Jalal is there now, so we don't need to worry." Said the concerned lady. "Ok. Bye then." Said Jodha waving her hand to her mother. Jalal went to leave the mother-son duo till the hospital gate and on his way asked about Jodha's recovery. "Jalal, Please meet the doctor once before you leave tomorrow morning." Were the words which Jodha's brother said the last before leaving. And her mother who was still adamant about Jodha not participating into reading the book said, "Jalal, take care that she's not into reading anymore. Otherwise her eyes will start paining again." Finally after a 15 minutes talk, Jalal bid adieu to both of them and went back to Jodha's room.
"Hey beautiful..."wished the contented man. "May i have the pleasure to know why so sudden I've started looking beautiful to you?" snapped Jodha sarcastically. "Why? Can't I complement my lady?" said Jalal in a husky tone taking a seat beside her. "You can, no doubt. But in all these days you never... So why so sudden? You want something?"Retorted the not so polite lady. "Why are you sounding so rude gal? Calm down dear!" said the composed man. "I am not being rude. And if you feel so then don't talk to Me." said the despondent girl. "Ok.. You don't. Leave that and tell me How did you find the book? And how much did you read?" asked Jalal with a smile."yeah! The book is superawesome. Afterall its my choice. I read 280 pages" answered she witha proud look on her face. "Woah! Aunty was right. I shouldn't have given it to you." "Oh you mean to say, that you to agree with mom??" she said pointing her finger towards him. "yup..."he said not knowing about the upcoming tornado. "Ah.. Mummy ke chamche...(mom's tail)Why are you here then? Go home..." said the angry lady turning her face towards the opposite side. The perplexed man came in-front of her to cajole her, but she turned towards the other side. Not getting anything about what to do, he just started speaking. "Jo, I'm sorry... I..I didn't mean to hurt you in any means. Its just I felt your mum was right.. I am not saying that you are doing anything wrong, but its just that you should take care about you self! I AM SORRY!." After mouthing a sorry for one last time, he went to meet the doctor, but without telling anything to Jodha.
IN THE DOCTOR'S CABIN
"Please come in Mr. Mohammad! I expected you visit." Greeted the courteous physician. After indicating the perturbed man to sit, he continued. " First, I've got a good news for you." Watching the young man's expressions, he added " Miss Jodha can go home the day after tomorrow, after all the tests are completed." He took a pause. "but only if her tests results are good, otherwise she'll have to stay here till she recovers totally!" the man ended. Jalal was elated. He quickly uttered a Thank-you to the doctor, not waiting for the further reply, Jalal put forward his problem. "But doctor, recently after the accident, I'm experiencing a lot of mood swings in her. Sometimes, she's beyond happy, sometimes she becomes furious without any reason. I don't understand." "Yes, I was about to come to this point. See Mr. Mohammad, when Jodha met with the accident, she hit her head as well, though no serious injuries there, but due to the shock effect, she undergo a minor, a very minor amnesia and her mood swings will be common. Though for some days only. And I'm happy that she's recovering at a fast rate." Said the physician with a smile. Jalal was agitated with the doctor's words, he again questioned. "So any remedy to these mood swings?" The doctor answered while removing his glasses, "I fear No. You'' have to bear them for the time-being. But yes, you can surely decrease them. Take care that you give her whatever she demands for, until she fully recovers. And if you disagree to her, try to explain her gently. Just like you explain a kid. And yes, the most important thing. ONLY HEALTHY FOODS. No junk." Said the doctor giving a warning signal. "Ok, I'll take care about that. Thank-you doctor!" with this, Jalal exited the room witha gentle smile, ready to pacify Jodha.
SOMEWHERE OUTSIDE THE CABIN
A mysterious man was standing observing Jalal's actions. After Jalal was out of his sight, he dialled a number.
"Hello boss!"greeted he.
"Yes man say!"
"boss, Jodha is getting discharged the day after."
"are you sure?"
"yes, just now her boyfriend went out frm the doctor's cabin. And i heard their convo."
"Ok. Keep collecting the information and let me know."ordered the boss and then hung up.
