What does the great emperor under the influence expected jodha to sing in royal court? She can't sing a bhajan which the mughal court can't understand its sanctity. If amer lost in the war it doesn't mean her clan is totally useless nd mughal's r great! I liked beautiful jodha's interaction with ruqaiyya. Initially dreaming about scary jalal in her hojra and later cooled down to see ruqaiyya wiping her sweat she looked beautiful with her expressions through eyes. Very patiently listened to all her bakwasa and proud talk that how she came into the harem or brought into harem by jalal and how he will forget her like any other valuable thing after he gets her i think made jodha think seriously about her future course of action with jalal. Here ruquiyya in a way helped jodha to decide her future course of action. Later after all her talk with pride to jodha and her bang on answer to ruq that she has no talab for jalal and she doesn't want him by all means shocking ruq.
Later the interaction with jalal in her hojra as she already heard of jalal's greatness as a lustful man by ruqiyya was in a horrifying mood and it is natural for her to be afraid of him however brave she is and that too in front of a man who was totally drunk. Still she answered him presenting her point of view in singing that song which she knew. But he totally threatened her that he would make her life a hell and even tried to assault her with his advances but luckily withdrew in last minute.
It is but natural for her that he wanted to marry her in return to save amer. But how can we say that she wanted to have a happy marital relationship with him and her dialogues r not sensing like that to me. She expected at least to live her life in kanha's prayer peacefully in the harem. But he totally made her upset and disgusted by saying that he will insult her in private naturally make her horrified by his revelations. I took it that way.
The last scene of mansingh came to see her after the day before incident at jashan she already warned him from what she came to know as she was also new to the harem rules. ruquiyya further threatened her and scared what would be the punishment to masingh for this entry into harem. All these incidents what effect do they have on a girl even if she was brought up in a royal family with all dignity and the house she entered is totally different?
