It was an accident, he was only trying to search for his files when he came across it. He hadn't meant to read it but it was opened when it fell to the ground. He never expected for it to be a diary more so his shy wife's diary. He knew it was rude to read a person's diary without their permission but he couldn't fight the curiosity that hit him.

Picking up the diary, he walked to his study room just at the corner of his bedroom and locked himself in it. He sat down and started reading his wife's diary from the day her rishtha came to him.

Papa and mama has found a ladka for me, I just received an envelope containing his picture. Should I open it up? I trust papa and mama would choose a great ladka for me, but what if he is nothing like how I picture him? I should just open it up and take a look at his picture shouldn't I? I am going to do just that, wish me luck diary!

He is so handsome and he's so rich whereas I am just an average looking girl from a middle class family. Will this alliance really work out diary? How am I going to cope with such a difference? Will I be able to carry my duties without pressure? Tell me what to do diary.

They are coming tomorrow diary! I am excited and nervous, I don't know what to do. I am not in love with him but I think I like him. I hope he likes me too. But what if he finds me boring and rejects this alliance?! Oh, what should I do, I want tomorrow to come fast and yet another part of me doesn't want tomorrow to come at all.

He said yes. He said yes! I still can't believe it diary. He's much more handsome in real life than in photos. We had some time alone to get to know the other better, and I was quiet. He did most of the talking, I do hope he doesn't think that I am not happy with this alliance because I am. This is why I hate my shy personality, it always causes problems for me. I hope he would one day understand me.

He skipped a few pages to the day they had their engagement.

Today was our engagement, I wore a green lehenga that day. At first I was surprised of the colour that the ladke waale chose but later on Bakshi, his sister told me that it was his favourite colour. Everyone was teasing me and my cheeks grew red from shyness. I noticed that throughout the ceremony he couldn't take his eyes away from me. I swear my tummy turned at the thought that he too might like me as much as I do.

My wedding day is nearing, in just two weeks I will be married. I wonder how women do it? Leaving the family they have known all their life for a new family. I must have been spending most of my days crying thinking of how I won't get to listen to mama's lectures, papa's secret treats that he brings me after work and the teasing I do to Sukanya. I can't help but wonder how my life is going to be with a family I barely know and a husband who is practically a stranger to me.

He is such a sweet person, I am really very lucky to have him diary. Before I was to leave with him to my new house, he promised papa and mama to take good care of me and even went as far as to tell them that they are free to visit me whenever they miss me.

Before he could continue with the next diary entry, he heard a knock on his study door. He asked the person to come in after making sure the diary was hidden between his files. It was his wife who had knocked bringing him coffee. His wife was very shy and conservative, as he took in her attire a simple yellow saree with pink border with the pallu covering her head, he can't help but admire her.

He didn't understand how his wife would think that he would not like her the first time they meet as she left him to attend his business. Only he knew how she had haunted his dreams after looking at her photo the day her rishtha came and how he came to love her when he met her for the first time. But then again how would she know how he felt about her when she doesn't meet his eyes.

She always keeps her eyes down when she's with him, was she really that shy? Not really, it was only to him that she does not keep eye contact. He had initially thought that she was not all too happy with his rishtha since she never spoke on the day he went and meet her. He always tries to make her comfortable so that she may slowly come to like him.

That was why he had not consummate their marriage, to give her time to fall in love with him not just for the sake of fulfilling their duty as husband and wife. But he had not thought of how she must have felt that night and he cursed himself for being so ignorant of her feelings as he read the next diary entry.

My fears came true diary! He doesn't like me at all. If not, why would he not consummate our marriage?! Am I that awful? Was he forced to agree to marry me? I don't know what to do diary. This doesn't happen to every bride from arranged marriages does it? Or is it just happening to me? I have failed the one duty a wife should do. I could not win my husband's heart.

I don't understand him diary, I thought he didn't like me, but then why is he so good to me? Is this his way of making me feel better? Because it only makes it worst, I keep thinking how he didn't even look at me twice last night. Everyone was teasing me this morning and I felt like crying for what they thought happened the night before never happened. I'm so lost diary, I don't know what to do.

I keep to myself most of the time and only talk to someone when they talk to me but I can't seem to talk to him more than just a sentence. I try not to see him in the eye afraid that there would not be any affection in it. I can't bear to think that he might leave me someday. I wish I knew what to do.

He is sick, he has a high fever. I know it will go away but I can't help but worry about him. What if he never recovers? I'm being stupid aren't I? But I can't help it I care about him and I don't want him to be sick. He just fell asleep a while ago after taking his medications. I hope his fever breaks by morning.

He is doing much better today, he can eat solid food already. He still has a fever but it is much better than yesterday. I was sitting by his side keeping the cold compress on his forehead. It was the first time I truly took a look at him up close. I never knew he had such long eyelashes and such soft hair. I pray that his recover back to health soon.

I don't know how or when diary, but it happened. I... I am in love with him diary! I am in love with Jalal. I feel happy when he is happy, I feel sad when he is down, and I feel as though my heart would stop when I see him in pain diary. If this is not love then I don't know what this is.

I find myself always searching for him diary, his smile mostly. There's something about his smile that makes my tummy gurgle in a good way of course. Oh diary, please tell me what I should do? I really love him but does he love me back or will he ever come to love me someday?

After he shut the diary he kept in on the side table where it had originally been. The next day after he woke up and headed to the bathroom, he called out to Jodha and asked her to put out his clothes for him. Jodha who was surprised by his request did what he asked and decided that perhaps he was running late. As Jalal came to the dining table, he ate his breakfast before rushing out of the house purposely leaving his phone behind on the table.

Jodha who saw his phone hurried behind him calling out to him to wait. As she handed him his phone and was about to go back in the house he pulled her close and kissed her on the cheek saying thank you before driving off to work leaving Jodha there with a bright red face and heart beating furiously. That was the first of many to come for Jalal to find a way to kiss jodha.

Weeks past and yet Jalal was still behaving weirdly with Jodha, always asking her how her days was and Jalal even bought gifts for her. Jodha was happy of course but still she was apprehensive as she has yet to know that Jalal actually loves her. She had to know why he is doing this, if he is in love with her the same way as she is.

She had asked him that night on why all these changed behavior and he confessed to her that he had read her diary and apologize for all the pain he had unknowingly cause her. He told her that it was never his intention to make her feel that he did not like for he loved her since the day he met her and that the only reason he had not consummate their marriage was because he wanted her to love him too and not do it because of her duty as his wife.

She had cried as he engulfed her in his arms caressing her hair whispering sweet nothings into her ears. She told him how afraid she had been when he did that and thought he didn't like her while he once again asked for her forgiveness.

They shared their first kiss and finally consummated their marriage after a couple of months of marriage.

I'm not done yet, remember I said before that after my laptop is back from repair I will update two OS and two chapter of HFL? Yeah so I am fulfilling that promise for the OS. 😃

He Will Never Truly Be Mine

He is leaving. She could feel the movement on the bed, she kept her eyes closed not wanting him to know that she was awake. She heard the rustling of his clothes as he put them back on and heard the click of their bedroom door.

Tears fell out of her eyes as she heard the automatic gate and the start of his car engine, for she knew very well where he was going. He was going to that place, he had gone to her place like every other night.

She got up and pulled on her robe and walked to the window and looked out into the dark sky. She does the same thing every night after he left and waited for her husband of a year to come home to her.

She knew he cared about her and she also know the reason why he always goes there to that woman yet she could never stop her heart from breaking into a million pieces every time he goes there. She wants to have him all to herself and yet she knew it was next to impossible to do that.

She went back to her, their bed she reminded herself yet again and sat there picking up the book she had been reading the night before, continuing from where she had left off. This is what she does every night, read a book and wait for him to come home.

She couldn't focus on the book tonight as her thoughts kept going back to him and that woman. She doesn't know what exactly takes place there, but she could guess it. She trusted him, hell she loves him, why else would she take on all this if not for her love for him.

Although she trusted him she also could not help the thoughts that come to mind about the fact that he was seeking another woman when he is already married to her. Their marriage was an arranged marriage and she knew, she knew he had not agreed to it because he loves her but because his parents forced him to do it.

She also knew who the woman was for she had followed him the first time he did this and she was heartbroken to think that she could never truly be his wife in all sense for he loved another and met her every night and she? His wife had to live with the fact that her husband will never love her.

Of course she had wanted to confront him and she did just that but something snapped within her when she saw the guilt on his face. She had told him that she was fine about it as long as at the end of the day he comes home to her. She didn't know what made her do that but she did it and that was the start of her painful days.

She was brought back when she heard the door to their bedroom open. He was surprised to see her awake as she would normally lie in bed and listen silently to him come back to bed. She smiled and asked him if he wanted anything and closed her book that was opened on the same page since he left.

He changed into his night clothes while she took her robe off as he told her he was fine. He came and sat beside her when she called out to him telling she had something to tell him. She felt bad as he started to look guilty, before he could do something foolish such as apologize to her, she took his hand in hers looking into his eyes.

He was confuse she could tell yet she wanted him to know, she wants to see his face shine with happiness and it did when he realize the reason behind why she brought his hands to her abdomen and smiled shyly at him.

She was sure then that although she may not have his heart, she had him and he would never leave her alone and with their family being complete, perhaps he could stop feeling guilty for she would never ever blame him if she had him there by her side.
