Hi folks! since we all are in happy mood reminiscing the old golden days! how i wish this would have happened after the show had finished! at least i would have rewatched the old epis and cleared my mind from the pathetic NRs that have been hogging the screen since almost a year!..i had decided not to watch and forget about it but accidently caught the glimse of it on utube..and the end result of ektanama is akbar bana jodha aur jodha bani akbar...akbar doing jodha's duties by being ultra loyal pati in spite of endless marriages and harem full of thousands of concubines..and jodha taking all political decisions and coming out of the harem which i have never heard of..addressing the awaam in the days when common people were dying to catch a glimpse of royal ladies never mind coming face to face like this as shown..how pathetic! now i am happy that this butchering! torturing! and exploitation of this great monarch will end!
i would have not minded the cvz showing some real HK achievements only if they had not killed Akbar's character! they did not even show his single achievement or give credit for his real achievements! what a shame!
and sadly i am reminded of these lines on seeing sad demise of this larger than life character..result of poor script..

an excellent view of prem..he said it all in few lines about akbar and what this serial was all about...

But viewers expected equality in relationship that Akbar will do DEA/DEK work and go to wars and Jodha take care of family, business etc that never happened. Jodha was in DEA/DEK/War everywhere
To be honest from what I read of Akbar he was a personality A type who did what he wanted. He not only commanded the empire but his family. So he approved whom his kids married or did not marry, how they were educated, what work his wives did, what his ministers did etc I mean single handed decision maker for his family especially his kids and wife and even his sisters(anyone who lived with him). The only family member who got some consession to transgress from his commands was Salim rest all just followed him to the T usually. He was the patriarch of the family who had complete control and command over his family. By no means was he ever dependent on Ruqaiah or Jodha or Salima or Hamida completely at any time of his life for any decision.
Wether it is sati, child marriage, jaziya, compensating farmers where his army marched etc it was his sole decisions based on feed back he got and the trips he took in disguise around his empire. Yes a few people majorly his navrathna's and his family be it mother, wife or sisters and kids would have given him suggestions but only if he asked them. They could not like Jodha barge in with their opinion on any matter unless asked to, they could not dare do some things that jodha did to draw his attention to issues like teerth kaar where jodha paid teerth kaar and made it a public drama against Akbar, nor would a jodha or any family dare speak against his decision like in Khyber case nor could his wives or kids dare speak out of turn in court against him like jodha and salim were shown doing. The court had a decorum to be followed by all no concessions to his son or wives. May be a Maham, Bairam Khan or Hamida could speak out of turn never a Jodha, Ruqaiah, Salim ever.
Also the missionaries at his court have written he never showed his emotions what he thought on his face.
To show such a man begging in Mathura on feet of his wife, to him drowning in tears at drop of hat, to be a putty in his wife hands who could make him dance to her tunes etc I think it was a 360 degree role reversal. That finally lead to a downfall of this show. Because what viewers expected and had read in history was in contrast to what was being shown. So every viewer had a dilemma while watching the show as all knew this could not be Akbar the great. Ruqaiah played games with him and Jodha controlled all his decisions.
