I really wanted to see this scene in the serial. If done well it would have made the highlight reel and I am sure Rajat would have done justice to it.

Another of those, "I wish..." moments.

donjas there has to be a serial made on just akbar himself as there is so much to tell about this great personality, even a movie cannot tell all! regardless, of his butchering in one serial his legacy shall prevail..i read vincent smith's book on him as if i am reading a bible...already read twice!..its about ab extraordinary human who had qualities we can just dream of!

I don't think a serial just on Akbar would sell. That is the problem that serial makers face, especially those of high budget period shows like Jodha Akbar. They need ratings and for that they need to show populist stuff.

The failure to get ratings dooms a period drama serial very fast, look at Razia Sultan, I saw an episode or two, not bad. It has been on air barely a few months and soon it is going to get axed.

Regarding Akbar, an exhibit about Akbar was held in Rome 2 years back. At the same time an exhibition was being held about Emperor Augustus of the Roman empire, who had decreed that all should embrace Christianity.

The main newspaper in Rome had compared the two(I don't remember the name). The article argued that we need more Akbars in society not more Augustus. That is the fame of Akbar, all who read about him marvel at his tolerance.
