Kareena back as Face for Lakme India
"Ruchi..Will you please do me a favour darling?", Jodha sweetly asked over phone, to her fellow friend who was a part of the organising team.
"Yes Jo? Order it.", the other side of phone replied back.
"Thank you so much in advance yaar. I need your help actually. Can you please come over to my green-room? We'll talk here.", Jodha smilingly said.
"Coming in 5 mins.", and the call was cut.
Jodha undid the zip of the gown on her back and get readied to change into casuals.
~*~*~*~*~
As Jalal made his way out for the exit, he walked past the same green-room which had witnessed a tough encounter earlier.
"What if she's still in there?", he thought while a slight smirk crept up on his lips. "Avani isn't entirely wrong. I think I should talk to this lady who could dare to slap."
Taking back a step or two and turning towards the green-room, he knocked on the door to alert the person inside.
"Yup come in", Jodha answered the knock, though surprised so as to why Ruchi was knocking on the door when she was anyway going to come. "Isn't she early than she said?", Jodha thought casually.
"Wow. The reply was quite quick", the eager man outside thought.
Gliding down the full-sleeves black coloured top along her torso, she turned around to welcome Ruchi, but to her shocking amazement she came face to face with Jalal.
Her hands which carried the top downwards automatically stopped where they were, that is at her waist, as the shock to see him in front of her was too much to grasp.
Jalal's eyes involuntarily got fixed on her halted hands and there he got the first view of her bare waist and bellybutton, the area of her abdomen which was yet to be covered by the top.
He immediately shut his eyes and turned around while Jodha's hands completed the remaining task of pulling down the top at a lightening speed.
"Damn", Jalal immediately realised. "Wrong time. Probably it was someone else she was thinking it to be, otherwise she wouldn't have allowed anyone to come in, in such a state."
"What are you doing here? Aren't the wonders for the evening over? Or is there something else too? Tell me. Tell me now Mr. Whatever.", Jodha yelled while fast approaching towards the still man.
"Haven't you got any etiquette? How can you just barge in here so casually? Do you realise what place this is?", she continued accusing him with all sorts of questions.
Having taken enough of the charge, the tough man thought to finally utilise his power to bring the charged-up woman to rest.
He turned back to her looking deep into her eyes. "Huh." Surprised at his silence, Jodha took a breather before continuing.
"For your kind information, this is a green-room. Where takes place pure women's business. Just letting you know so that you remember it next time.", Jodha spoke piercing her eyes right through his.
"And does slapping other people take place too here, for no fault of theirs?", he spoke almost instantly, in a voice far away from being aggressive.
Jodha stopped speaking at once. It took a few seconds for her to realise what she had just heard, what he had just worded. As soon as he saw the tangling worry lines back on her face, he smirked at her as he knew he had an upper hand now.
"No. Slapping or for that matter, even arguing doesn't initiate from my side if there's no proper reason behind it.", she snapped back quickly.
"Oh. So may I know what made you slap and her?", he enquired having a slight frown on his face.
"Too worried for your wife or whoever. First go and ask her each and everything and then you'll know the whole truth.", she thought heatedly but kept the words to herself.
"I don't think I owe an explanation to anyone who doesn't matter to me. But since I do realise I sort of ..mm.. crossed my limits, I believe I should justify my actions. She unnecessarily argued with me and called me a loser just because I had taken her stuff for a while as I had misplaced mine, but she even went on my parents which totally destroyed my self-control for time being. Hence I slapped her. Though now I realise I shouldn't have done it because strangers' words shouldn't matter to me.", she said in a go, clarifying everything right away.
Quite bowled over by her courageous tone in her words, Jalal kept on looking at her without a word. "Is she telling truth or making up things?", he thought.
But the confident glow in her eyes erased every bit of the doubts he had. "So it wasn't her mistake after all.", he concluded, still looking silently into her eyes.
"She can be the show-stopper in a show, but that doesn't give her a right to unnecessarily mess up with people.", Jodha spoke, this time her tone had a dropped a little bit.
"Hmm. Right", Jalal agreed with her, this time verbally.
"I apologise on her behalf as she shouldn't have gone up to your parents.", Jalal spoke genuinely.
Completely stunned with the latest words of his, she looked up to him and stared at him for a long while with her broadened eyes, just to confirm if she had heard it right. But finding no facade in the apology he had just made, she faintly smiled.
"It's okay", she spoke lowering her eyes. "I am sorry too. For slapping her.", her ego now satisfied, she genuinely apologised too.
"Its alright.", Jalal voiced out. "And by the way, I am sorry too, I shouldn't have.. mm. But I swear I do know what goes inside a green-room.", he paused looking at her with a sly grin on his lips.
She looked at him in disbelief. "No its my fault actually, you knocked but I thought it was someone else.. so.", hiding her embarrassment hard, she halted there.
The next moment they both realised that within exact one minute, they had apologised to each other two times. And the moment it hit them, the duo couldn't help but break the ice of tension, and slightly laughed.
A moment later, they heard a person barging in without knocking, and Jodha recognised the person to be Ruchi.
Quick enough to realise what was going on, Jalal controlled his smile and turned to Jodha again. "I better leave now. Bye."
"Bye.", Jodha slightly smiled.
