abhay, one thing i agree with you is that there is not much written about any of the mughal females of that era but we do get to read about them by some foreign travelers and more is to do with gossip on love affairs and its hard to judge what the truth was because the proof is not there!..the rest is all up to ones own imagination and prediction..and yes, salim revolted against Akbar for the throne and more to do with political reasons and all of this is very meticulously shown in siyaasat..a must watch show if you are not watching!
Mandy,
I would add something again, as i added last time - There is not much present about Mughal females, but that is "in comparison" with their male counterparts. Link, i mentioned this last week also : Click here
About the "other" show, you know my previous grievances. But, the grievance grew more after the makers introduced Anarkali there. I found it distasteful watching Salim "using" Anarkali just to enrage his father, by taking her "away" from him. Akbar, there was going gaga over Anarkali as if "..." !!!! So odd it looked when they had shown father and son both going after the same lady(Anarkali) .!! Nothing was characteristic of Akbar in that bit.
And that attempted patricide, where they had shown Salim himself, poisoning Akbar was the last straw. Though, i am not denying it, but this "depiction" was straight from Indu Sundaresan's novel only. These events left a bad taste. I do keep a tab of the events there through a friend who watches the show, sometimes.
