Thanks for the update Abhay.
It was an ok episode but I just can't digest this witch track. Good to see MP back. At least we will get to see some history.
As you rightly said, subjecting Akbar the Great to Black Magic is totally unacceptable. Hope this track ends soon

I liked today's episode. Maybe because this is my first Indian serial I don't have any EK issues. For me it is just entertainment with a smattering of history and I do not expect anything more.
Of course the black magic track seems very silly and OTT and has been overly dramatized but the CVs have to please the masses too and this is what sells. And lets not forget Jadoo-tonaa was very common in India till a few decades ago so a lot of the older viewers may relate it even though they may not have actually experienced it.
Things I liked:
Rahim - Salim conversation. Very happy that the CVs included this very important piece of historical fact about MP. Liked the respect Rahim portrayed towards him. Certainly sheds a very positive light on Rahim too. He was super cute as a boy and has grown up to be worthy of his Navratan status.
JAJO and Aram: How adorable are these three??? Loved the hide and seek scene. Jalal and Jodha have to be one of the most romantic middle aged couple for sure. I guess having all those other begums and concubines does keep the marriage fresh!
Things I found ROFL funny:
Hoshiyar- Rukaiyya scene: OMG!!! This definitely made my day. The guy playing Hoshiyar is right on the money in his acting and brings that character to life. Of course today he said all those weird things to Rukaiyya under the influence of the spell but I have observed in the past too that the Hoshiyar-Rukaiyya relationship is very strange. He is her servant/slave, does a lot of chaploosi, takes a lot of beating and abuse from her but still manages to give her a few digs and taunts in a way no one else does. I guess there is a subtle lack of respect towards Rukaiyya. After being her slave and wafadar for so long, he is really the only one who knows the real person.
Things that set my teeth on the edge: No prizes for guessing...drumroll... LABONI. Well almost everyone hates her so the actress is doing a good job for sure!
I honestly do not see Jalal getting attracted to her. His expression is not one of attraction/desire more like a trance/ out of body thing.
Overall a good episode.

Thank you for your update Abhay,

My note:
Jodha-Jalal-Aram scene: I call it as "the presence of a child for deeper the couple's love" Parijat looks more...more comfortable at this scene👏, and so happy to hear Jodha said "let me go..." in sexy tone.

Hoshiyar-Rukaiya scene: that is comedy scene, i laugh loudly...🤣

I too , feel on same lines.
Akbar was a mystic and he was a strong adherent of Sufis.
A person like him shown subjected to the fancies of Kaala jaadu is ridiculous.
I demand some intelligence at least.

Like Bea also said last night, Akbar also has his share of faith in his God, same as Jodha's. But the CV's / writers , won't think twice, with the depth we are thinking here.

I am not happy with it but taking it with a pinch of salt. I still wish, this time, we see it the other way, that is, Akbar saving Jodha. I hope this black magic will be shown to get backfired finally.

Thank you Abhay. These are the exact same thoughts that I shared with two forum friends via PM just minutes ago. it upsets me that due to improper research work, the character of Akbar's is being subjected to such careless treatment.

You have echoed my thoughts perfectly. My argument (even though I never shared it) is, just as Jodha's aarti was shown as dispelling the negative effects of witch craft, in the same way Jalal 's belief in the Almighty should have also have not allowed the witch craft to influence him in the first place. Why is Akbar's mystic side being dealt with scant respect?

I do not wish for this view of mine to be misconstrued as liking Jalal more than Jodha. My liking for either of them has nothing to do with how their characters have been dealt with, in this current track. I like both Jalal/RT and Jodha/PS EQUALLY. I have praised and criticized their portrayal equally too. They are the heart and soul of the show, I have always seen them as THE awesome, adorable jodi and never as separate individuals.

For a complete non believer in the supernatural, I'm finding the current track rather insulting and demeaning to the leads and also to the historical greats, Akbar and Jodha Bai/heer Kunwar/Harka Bai.

About the illogical storyline and all we name it at this thread, sometime i wonder, how Paridhi and Rajat reacting when they read the script at the first hands, maybe they shakes a head, or take a deep breath...or...

Kudos to you for watching and sincerely writing a gist of the current track. 👏 👍🏼

Your comment 'overall fine episode but intelligence of the leads compromised here', is absolutely cent per cent right. This is exactly what I am irritated with : The portrayal of both Jodha and Akbar. Both of them appear to be brainless, mere puppets under the hands of witches. Won't the council of ministers wonder why their Shehenshah is behaving weirdly and get to the crux of the matter?

I can imagine Rukaiyya's expressions and outburst after hearing Hoshiyaar's 'truthful' opinions under the influence of the witches' spell. I was expecting something like this, I knew that Witch Sr wouldn't let Hoshiyaar escape easily, for insulting her with that slap.

I am giving myself a temporary break from watching this madness. Will continue reading your updates and comments shared by all forum friends on your threads. Unlike several of you here, I am unable to take this track with a pinch of salt and ignore the nonsense. Hence decided to stay away.

The one aspect that made me happy is the re-introduction of Maharana Pratap. I am hoping that it is dealt with some amount of logic and respect.

Charu 🤗

I echo ur thoughts here ... I too have been away from the serial since that DEK drama n mainly bcz of this witchy witch Ur logical question regarding , Jo's love n Aarthi reaching Jalal ?? Well , JA cvs r well wersed to show the out of logic sequences ... BE it Khyber track or this one 🥱

Well i m still thinking , where is " Original leela " Is she dead really or will they have fb at the end of this track too 😕 Or another funny thing of all this is , Jo n others have watched her eating meat n then to no doubt on her ?? When Jo being a Rajvanshi doesnt eat any meat n purely veg then her clan too ( or the whole Rajvanshi clans too [??]) should be vegeterian na ?? How come she doesnt have any ounce of doubt on her identity

Will catch only with Wu's untill this ' Irritatingly hilarious ' witch track goes on .. N this thing i m damn sure of 😊

I have read that account. The tomb being mentioned here is very heavily claimed to be that of Sahib-i-Jamal whom Salim loved very dearly. She died in 1599 and the tomb also bears the same date of the person's death who is buried there. There is a 5 page account about this tomb where some author (i think a Pakistani author) has written more details about this tomb to prove it to be of Sahib-i-Jamal. The book's name is not in my mind, but the book is of 1964-65.

Salim did not hate his father for killing Anar. It was complete politics of throne, so much politics that one can not imagine. Salim is called a bechara and a soft person and a lover boy, but in actual sense, he was a very cunning and clever politician at the same time. I used to have the same impression about him initially that he was a soft person who thought ONLY with his heart and not mind, but that perception is broken now. His life from 1597 to 1607 is so much full of politics. First with Akbar and then with his son Khusrau. He even got the brother of Nur Jahan executed in 1607-08 when he sensed that her brother was involved in a conspiracy against him. After Akbar , next is Salim on cards, not getting time, else i would have posted about this Nur-Anar-Salim, etc.

abhay, one thing i agree with you is that there is not much written about any of the mughal females of that era but we do get to read about them by some foreign travelers and more is to do with gossip on love affairs and its hard to judge what the truth was because the proof is not there!..the rest is all up to ones own imagination and prediction..and yes, salim revolted against Akbar for the throne and more to do with political reasons and all of this is very meticulously shown in siyaasat..a must watch show if you are not watching!
