Chapter 12

Hamida and Humayun got ready and within an hour they left...through out the journey Jodha didn't speak anything...

In the Office

Jalal was not happy...everything went well in his professional life but...he was missing something...its not that he has started developing a different kind of emotion towards Jodha but she meant something to him...and he felt bad for the kind of rudeness that he showed towards her...

He took out his phone...

6pm...Jodha s performance got over...in the green room

Hamida : there is a person who wants to meet u ...looks like a fan of urs...

Jodha : ammi...i may sound rude but i don't feel like meeting anyone...i m just...i m not well...i

Hamida : Jodha let him just meet u...see its just a matter of few minutes say 5 mins thats it...

Jodha : ok ammi...let him come in...

Man : ma'am u were wonderful i have seen ur other performances as well...being a social worker it feels great when i find people like u who perform not for remuneration but to help others...

Jodha : thank u so much...it was nice meeting u...

Man : ok ma'am good night...and ma'am one more thing...u look beautiful...

Jodha :thank u so much(smiles)

Hamida : Jodha there is another guy waiting for u...

JOdha : ok ammi...but this is the last one...i just wanted to go home...

Man: it was wonderful ...never thought that u were this graceful...

This voice was very much familiar to her...it was JALAL...she turned to look at him and a smile came to her face...she was very happy seeing him there...it was a pleasant surprise for her..Jalal took his hand forward but instead of shaking their hands Jodha gave him a tight hug..and said "thank u so much for coming u cant imagine how happy i am"...Jalal was a bit shocked with Jodha's reaction on seeing him, he knew that she would be happy but a hug was never expected but he liked this gesture of hers...

Jalal : it was a beautiful performance...

Jodha : thank u so much...but i am still in shock i mean...

Hamida : beta u both talk i ll wait outside

Jalal : no ammi...Jodha are u done with ur make up and dress...(Jodha nodded in a yes.)..then ammi u & abbu leave...she ll come with me...in my car...

They all leave...

Jalal's car

Jodha : are u still angry?

Jalal : not really...Jodha i know that i overreacted a bit...but...hmm...just leave it...i know i wasn't wrong as u played a very bad prank on me but...still i am sorry...

Jodha : no Jalal i should be sorry...it was my mistake...but why did u come? I mean the way u behaved with me this morning...i thought u wont come...

Flashback:

Jalal takes his phone...calls Humayun and gets the address of the venue where Jodha was gonna perform...

FB Ends...

Jalal : ...actually...i had a meeting nearby so when it got over thought of...u know attending the function...and..and ...more over its for charity so i thought why not buy a ticket if it helps someone else...

Jodha : ohhhooo...(to herself : such a liar he is...)

Jalal : i thought u would be performing bharatanatyam...but it was a bollywood fusion...

Jodha : well it was for kids and they enjoy bollywood numbers...so...well u would have known about this if u had peeped atleast once in my practise room...but u r so obsessed of ur room and laptop that u just cant think a life apart from them...

Jalal : (chuckles) ...who selected ur clothes i mean the costume...u looked quiet uncomfortable...

Jodha : no the costumes were fine...

Jalal : is it? But they looked very fit u know(uncomfortable saying it to her) showing ...umm...u know ...all the curves...

Jodha blushes...

They reached home...

Jalal's bedroom...they changed their clothes and freshened themselves...Jalal sat on the couch...

Jodha : yesterday when i asked u to sleep on the bed u didn't listen to me...even today i am offering u the right side...so if u want...

Jalal : why all of a sudden...why are u changing ur habit now...is it becoz...

Jodha : look before u start assuming things...let me clear it i don't have any such feelings for u ok..i know how stubborn u are with minute things like the right side of the bed and i am ready to give away this habbit of mine coz...hmm...its just that..i have been noticing that now a days be it at home or office but u stretch a lot...and even i heard bhaijaan...saying that u r suffering from back pain...so

Jalal : so...

Jodha : so its for ur health...goodnight..

Jalal : just a sec who is this bhaijaan?

Jodha : abdul...ur best friend...

Jalal was happy to know that she has started considering his family as her own and maybe this was one of the qualities that he wanted in his wife and Jodha definitely possessed this quality...Jalal comes and sleeps on the bed(the left side)

Jodha : arrey what happened ?now u don't want the right side or what?

Jalal : No. if u can leave ur habit just for the sake of my health..i am fine sleeping on the left side..see my policy is simple.Tit for Tat.so if u show me attitude i will also show u what attitude is but it was for the first time that this policy had an ill effect on me..but thanks for observing it..it feels great to know that there is someone to take care of u..

Jodha :Oh God... Jalal...i am ur wife...so don't be so formal with me...but once again i am sorry for the prank...

Jalal : ok so u can be formal with me but i cant be with u huh?

Jodh : no Jalal i need to apologise..it was my mistake... its just that..i am like this..u know...u r too formal for me to...handle and too serious, especially with me..u behave like a hitler ...u know in this way our relationship is not gonna work...we should start understanding each other...atleast be good friends to each other..

Jalal : i know Jodha...i know that i am too serious in general and for a person like u..i mean chirpy,bubbly its way too much to handle and yaar its not that i don't enjoy all these, i like the chirpiness in u but my work is very important to me so when u joked about it i just couldn't control my anger..by the way u can be a good actress, u convinced me pretty well that u have lost my file... ..but...(changes the topic) i should say today's performance of urs bowled me..u danced so gracefully yaar,those expressions,dance steps.. u looked beautiful.so with proper makeup u can look beautiful(saw angry face of Jodha)..i was just joking waise bhi tumhe meri tareef ki zaroorat hi kya hai tumahare fans hai tumhe batane ke liye and mujhe pata hai u urself know how gorgeous u r...but that dress...it doesn't suit u...waise u look beautiful the most without makeup..

Jodha : hey bhagwan aaj sooraj kis disha se nikla..i mean Jalal Khan apni patni ki tareef kar raha hai...usse badi baat yeh hai ki jo kabhi mushkil se 3 sentence bolta hai aaj woh itna kuch bol raha hai...

Jalal: (serious tone)woh sab chod coming back to our relationship... i think u r right we need to understand each other and be good friends..spend some time with each other..and know each other...ok so lets make a plan...

Jodha : ...oh yeah plan reminded me of my business tour...

Jalal : what?

Jodha : Rasheed sir texted me of some business tour that i am supposed to attend...let me just check my phone...(checking the phone) ok so its a deal with some American company and i am supposed to attend it on his behalf...its after 2 days...so that will be...

Jalal : 16 August...6 am...thats ur boarding time...

Jodha : u knew about it...then why were u acting as if u were not informed...

Jalal : i don't know whether i should be saying this to u but...u know since we are friends now i think i should share this to u...

Jodha : don't tell me that u were the one to include me in this group...

Jalal : well...i was really annoyed and angry at u so when uncle asked me to check the list of members who are going to attend the meeting..instead of his name i wrote urs...

Jodha : (shocked) what? U are so mean...selfish...cant believe u r 28 yr old man...i mean seriously...this is sooo childish...

She started throwing pillows on him...and then started the boxing match...they were fighting like kids...

Jalal : jodha its time for u to trim ur nails...u r scratching me like a cheetah...stop doing it...

Jodha : ohoo as if u r a perfect human being...my nails are at least manicured and look at urs.. u better not scratch on my face i'll kill u ...

Jalal : (sigh) now i understood what u meant by being friends...
