Thanks so much for being faithful and committed to give us update and this discussion thread daily. I am quite busy but want to put up some few thoughts.

Hmm, l dread the day I asked CV team to think out of the box...😆😆😆 this is what we get. Anyways coming to this conversion track there is something that is still hanging and therefore so hard to figure out what the writers are up to either HB is on the route to be a grey character or she is acting in good faith to protect Jodha only. 😕

My question is HB acting? (Well I want to give her the benefit of doubt but it is so hard for me). If so today's dialogues are too strange and out of place; today HB made it clear that she wants Jodha to stand up against her son's (Akbar's) decisions and idealogy as MUZ or MEH. Really?

I thought she was the one who wants Jodha to stand by Jalal all the time. I remember we had an episode way back when she gave a test to Jodha to see if she would accept Jalal's ruling as wise. So what has happened to HB? Is she just being an old queen mother suffering from menopausal syndrome and all of the sudden all wars are her concern what happen to this instinct of hers when Jalal was going to war choitter?

Is HB saying her son should bow to the Shan-e-Iran? Is HB now against her son's ideology and liberalism and wants Jodha conversion which she should know would lead to the demand of the conversion of other subjects as a queen mother or she is short sighted and thinks of the royal family only? Is HB thinking so low of her son's ability that he can't win this war and therefore he should submit to external forces and be under the Shan-e-Iran? This HB is a strange one I can't recognize.

However if I know the HB of Jodha Akbar well I will argue that in the wake of the poison attack she realize that Jodha's life is in danger so she decided to be the head of opposition so that no one else would start the opposition against Jodha and Jalal. In her own weird plan she might know strengthen and abilities of both JJ and believes they would stand by each other till the very end and she can continue doing her drama till the very end. This is why she might have ended the drama in court by herself so Jodha will not have to use her powers to make a wrong decision.

Or she might know of a promise between Jalal's father and this Shan-e-Iran's father that she is trying to fulfill therefore she is dead serious trying all her best to have Jodha converted but after that would she be certain that her son would follow in line. Or is this Gu... Begum idea and plan from where ever she came from all these years?

However if we know the writers well who only believes in negativity and all drama, drama, drama we would take it as it is and believe that HB is seriously against Jodha as her words are "she could have converted and stop the war ". But we all also know HB knows her son would wage war with anyone whether Jodha convert or not and if he did not listen to her why would she think he would stop or listen to Jodha when he is the one preventing her conversion in the first place? This is where there is a question mark on her reactions from all sides.

Her bring in Jodha's silence concerning her son the King's decision concerning the punishment of Salim was very unlike her; Is she implying that Jodha should rock shoulder with Jalal on his decisions and not support him? (Was this one of the numerous dialogue errors of the writers?) Or HB knows something; that concern Ruky? Which she is working towards? Well keep dreaming Bea.😆😆😆

At this stage I want to believe the worse that the writers just picked an unexpected source of opposition towards Jodha this time around to shock viewers but rather they have disgusted us the more. Either Jalal would come in time to save Jodha this time when she is being pressured to convert and she is accepting it because of her mother-in-law whom she loves so much or we shall see a Jodha standing by Jalal by hook or crook and HB turning into a semi-villain forever in Jodha Akbar and putting down her cheer leader title.

Will surely be back in full form next week when schedule is flexible.

Coming to episode, I agree with your feel of the episode. The DEK scene was 🤢 😡

As I mentioned earlier too, I am watching the Hamida and Ruq scenes in mute because these are pathetic and intended to simply humiliate Jodha the way she was humiliated by Jalal and Ruq during 2013.

Today too, I got the gist of what happened in the DEK from your writeup only.

First, I do not understand why the matter, if any, is in the DEK.

Second, if Hamida Begum is so fond of the Shah-i-Iran, Jodha should make travel arrangement s for her and pack her off to Iran permanently. Along with Ruq.

Why was Hamida BEgum silent initially when the problem first started? Then she didn't even want Jalal to tell JOdha anything lest she should worry. What has changed now?

Thirdly, why is Hamida so keen that war should not occur and Jodha should convert? Has she secretly made a deal with someone?

Where was Hamida's anti-war sentiment hidden all these years?

And the fainting was too much!! She is not leaving any form of emotional and psychological blackmail untried on Jodha. Does she deserve to be the Queen Mother and Mariam Makani?

The title of MM implies that she was innocent, but the present form of MM is anything but innocent.

Jodha looked like she had finally awakened to the responsibilities and the pressures of being the MEH. I was thankful that as Jodha stood in front of the scales of justice, Salima Begum came there to lend her moral support and reassure her that she was doing the right thing as the MEH.

And then the awakening came on its own, like a flash of lightning, as Jodha struggled to find answers to the circumstances in which she found herself. I am thankful for this too because it would have been disappointing if Jodha had to be goaded into action by someone else always.

Till the time Jodha wore the crown and strode purposefully towards the DEK, I was happy. But even in the muted scene, I could see she was too terror-struck by her towering mother-in-law to say anything. She was so petrified that even as Hamida Begum fainted (rather grossly, I felt) she could only watch but was not able to move a muscle to hold the senior lady from falling to the ground.

This much was clear that Hamida BEgum had planned the whole DEK tamasha and was faking the fainting spell. The goal seemed to be to bring all round pressure on Jodha to break down and convert.

Here I feel that when the pressure intensifies on Jodha to convert, then just as she is cracking under the strain, she gets a dream in which Jalal shouts talaq because she changed her religion. And this dream stops Jodha from converting and succumbing to Hamida's pressure.

I do not appreciate people like Salima Begum who do not have the courage to stand by their convictions openly. She was quite proper in advising Jodha to stand upto MM in the DEK and to do justice even if it meant an increased breakdown of relations between Jodha and Hamida. I believe she was genuine in this scene based on her character graph so far.

Yet this Salima Begum is too hypocritical. She is aware of everything but has not supported Jodha publicly or in front of MM even once. She could have spoken to Hamida at least once on behalf of Jodha even if she felt that the effort would be futile. After all, she has a lot of influence with MM.

Even in the precap scene, she is seen to stand quietly as Gulbadan Begum raves and rants against Jodha publicly.

In spite of his vast experience, even Jalal too has needed moral support and encouragement from time to time. Hasn't it occurred to Salima Begum that this is Jodha's first experience of being an MEH and that she is facing a formidable opponent - her mother-in-law.? Right now, with even Jalal away at war, Jodha has no one except Moti for comfort and support. She is facing the brunt of Jalal's decisions all alone.

If, at this point, Salima Begum had declared that she was with Jodha Begum and had practised what she preached so easily to Jodha, then things may have been different.

Is it possible that Salima is miffed that JAlal left the empire in Jodha's hands this time, instead of hers, as always?

Hamida too may be ruffled that Jodha was now at par with her in the hierarchy and try to put her down.

We all know that JJ will always be together and will never be divorced. And in the meantime, we have to put up with a lot of melodrama and unnecessary scenes of Jodha's humiliation.

There's another possibility that has struck me.

THis track may be the copy of the Ben track. Then Jalal will somehow get miffed with Jodha and turn to the vishkanya, just to spite Jodha.

Hamida will play the part of Maham who pushes Jalal to leave Jodha and marry the vishkanya.

and then just as Jalal is about to marry the vishkanya, Jodha will save him and JJ will come together again.

The show is losing its charm over me. Even the AkDha scenes are not enough to recreate the early magic anymore. And esp since the war started, the show is looking even more insipid and lacklustre.

The Akbar - Murad- Salim scenes were good. 😊
