Upon reading your title, I initially thought that maybe Salim has had an overdose of 'afeem' thanks to his (badi) ammijaan. As I began reading your precisely communicated synopsis, I realized the actual meaning of your title. Thanks Abhay, for creating that element of intrigue.

Today's episode was again a pleasant one. Was overwhelmed by Salim's changed perception towards Jodha. Loved it when he respectfully declined Raja Birbal request to speak to Mariam Makani on behalf of MUZ, about the conversion issue, stating that by doing so, he will be insulting his mother. As much as he loves and respects his grandmother, he wants her to understand Jodha's reason for refusing to convert to Islam, on her own.

There appears to be a drastic personality change in both grandson and grandmother. One for the better and other for the worse. It is sad that the very same grandmother who just a few days back was lamenting about her grandson's disrespectful and indifferent behavior towards his biological mother should herself treat Salim's mother, Jalal's wife and her daughter-in-law in the very same manner that her grandson once did.

The scene that stood out today was the interaction between Jalal and his mother. The underplayed look of dismay and disbelief at his mother's attitude and her dishonorable behavior towards Jodha, has been wonderfully depicted by Rajat Tokas. He clearly and firmly reminded his mother that her daughter-in-law was following her own example by up-keeping the promise that she had made to her husband and fulfilling her wifely duties, in the very same manner that she, Mariam Makani had done several years ago by keeping her husband Humayun company through good times and bad, having left behind a toddler Jalal, in the care of nurses.

I am confused about the promo like many of my friends. Have done a lot of guesswork, just hoping that Rukaiyya does not play mischief between HB and Jodha, thereby instigating Jalal, to take an extreme step in anger. Whether the talaq scene is a dream or a setup by Jalal to mislead his foes and Hamida Begum, is a mystery. My gut feeling is that it is all a drama. If there is a 'talaq', then the very idea behind calling Jala/Jodha soul mates will be lost. At this point in their relationship, I doubt if there will ever be any misunderstanding between this lovely couple.

@bold: well said Charu..Today Salim and Jalal reversed roles. Salim was in full support of his mother and Jalal was shocked with the sudden change in his mother and politely reminded her.

The Promo Charu. I am not thinking too much at all. For sure I know there will be no Talaaq, but how it is going to be shown is a big question mark..I have a feeling promo was aired a bit late and may not be even shown. Who knows what CVS have in mind. VK, what not, I can tolerate as long as I see JJ together, understanding and supporting each other. Because after all this we still have the Anar track where we are going to see some sparks between father and son.

I liked the last scene too. 😉. It was a husband wifey talk where they were ensuring each other about solving issues with respect to HB and war and how Jalal wanted to spend time with JO before going on war...

The funny part Sindhu is Jalal and Jodha are now being shown as a couple I assume in their forties. These two look cuter now than they did before. Their camaraderie and playful interaction is a treat to watch.

Beneath this casual banter is a couple who has faced both highs and lows in life together. One can never forget their unbearable sorrow at the death of the twins, followed by the unfair blame game, the aftermath of the insensitive attack on Chittor that changed Jalal forever and finally the birth of Salim, which ended up being a traumatic experience for them as parents, until today when their trials and tribulations still continue.

All these experiences have made them one strong unit . They derive strength from each other. The very idea of a divorce is insensible and illogical.
