I havent watched the promo. But I know it is some plan. I remember being shocked and accusing of Jalal's during that Atifa track when Jodha was pregnant. It became obvious only in the end that Jalal was acting. So would this be. Thanks Abhay!

The matter is not what Iranians say or what the Ottomans say. The matter was related to Hindustan only. Since, the Ulemas and Maulvis of Hindustan had THEMSELVES acknowledged Akbar as the Imam-i-Adil, and had also signed the document which called him Khalifa, etc.. Hence, in India there was NO ONE, to challenge him. Akbar was concerned about the Shias and Sunnis of Hindustan. When the Ulemas of Hindustan recognized him as the authority, then Sunnis looked upto him as Khalifa.

Yes you are right, what if ruler of Iran or anyone else does not accept this. For that, i wrote in the update itself, that Iran NEVER accepted his act of "independence " of AKbar. :-P

Had there been a REAL WAR between Iran and Akbar, matters could have swayed any way. But, fortunately there was no war, and Iran was also weak for that time.

REAL Akbar had not shown any aggression like REEL Akbar is doing in the show. :-P
He could not afford to take on the might of those empires. Hence, this was "Daring yet Diplomatic" Master Stroke, which means without fighting he got what he wanted.
