Hi all,

As most of you know, Akbar once rode nonstop to stop a princess from being forced to commit the Sati practice...

Was discussing this incident on the forum, few days back. So, thought of writing about that event also.

So, Regarding the same incident , made a post. Have given the details if this lady also, whom Akbar saved and gave a new lease of life.

Wish we can see this and other such pro-active steps undertaken by Akbar for the welfare of his people in our show. It would have been a rare Emperor who would have thought of his people so much.!

TFS a wonderful article about Akbar - he was truly a magnificent emperor - a rare breed who was actually concerned about the welfare of his people and not just in filling his coffers.

What amazes me most is that he gave women so much respect at a time when women had no identity of their own. He made so many laws for them and made them feel like equal citizens of the land. He would be far ahead of most men (and women) in India even today. Really salute this great character!

This is such an interesting incident in Akbar's life and you have given a very detailed and informative post about it. There were a few things about it that I did not know, so it was a revelation.

When there are ready-made incidents just waiting for a depiction on screen then what is the need for leaps and Natkiya Rupantars. Ekta in her stupidity has damaged the serial almost beyond repair. The CV's have made the situation worse by being the most unimaginative creatives ever in television.

But all hope is not lost, there is still time to adapt real life situation like this to the small screen. And then TRP's will follow.
