😆..adi bang on! i like the name Hatim Tai suits the character more than Akbar...when you think of Akbar you think of a mahaan hasti of larger than life portrayal ..as older akabr i would go by pritiviraj kapoor's akbar and siyasat akabr..for younger akbar i would go by hrithik roshan's akbar and rajat's akbar of initial episodes..but this akbar who is he i cannot connect with him and Hatim tai is an apt name for it😆

Mandy
in islam you cannot marry without both being muslims, so Jodha and other rajputh queens would have converted to islam before marrying an Akbar, salim or shah jahan. They worshiped hindu Gods does not mean they never converted. Jodha would have converted to marry Akbar before nikaah else no way nikaah can take place and at that time Akbar was an adherent follower of his religion. In patriarchal society even today wife convert to husband religion to marry unless its a civil court wedding.
Akbar's two mentors in early years bairam khan a shia muslim was a liberal who himself married into yadav community and Abdul latif was a teacher who taught him philosophy both liberals. Before marrying Jodha he had banned converting slaves and prisoner of wars from hindu to muslims. There are many things like this in history- only those who have read books will know that Jodha was not the only influence to make him liberal he was moulded from a young age. Also political complusions like ruling a vast majority people who do not follow his religion would have forced him to be liberal even if he did not want to.
Anyways actually I felt this story after intro of insects etc looked like a fantasy program on lines of hatim tai, if story writing does not improve its doomed
What I am appaled is at age of 48(if salim is 20) Akbar is acting like teenage lover running after his wife and Jodha too not once I saw her worried for salim or feeding him or talking to him but she is always romancing Akbar. can that be practical? Both parents are not bothered of their kids what they are doing, where are they etc? In teenage and early adulthood a child requires max parent especially mother care else they spoil easily. So why these two pay no attention to their kids? And romance also should be mature and subtle not this emperor running off to see wife etc.

Akbar had absolute control over his Kingdom and harem. And his Governors maintained law and order and health issues in respective regions. To show that one of his Queens is doing nursing is the biggest joke - And No purdah !!!!

This story in the track is not practical and audience gets bored of sill tracks

There have been lot of silly tracks in JA
Jodha running away to Mathura and jalal beginning her (can anyone imagine the mighty emperor Akbar on his knees in front of a wife no matter what love istory)
Khyber track
- Which empress shall run off with a forest man when she is pregnant?
Shenaz track
- Akbar mom imprisoned in his own palace for ages and he has no clue, shenaz trying to kill Rahim and Akbar etc unimaginable
Twins sharing track
- Twins are never separated ever in real, they stay together always, the way Ruqaiah behaved in track an Akbar not cracking whip unbelievable again
Ruqaiah false pregnancy track
- Which Mughal empress shall fake pregnancy that too a first cousin of Akbar unbelievable
Akbar blaming Jodha track
- Akbar was to be blamed for giving away baby to Ruqaiah not Jodha actually
Salim anarkali meeting in amer track
- Anarkali thinking Salim is qutub a commoner too silly, what sort of great love istory is this? Great it would be if anarkali knows salim is crown prince and dares to love him, further that silly qabila king threatening Akbar to kill salim which man dare do that? unbelievable
Salim anarkali hate track
- All watched Mughal e azam or read SA story there was never a hate track ever and anarkali a rakasha even more bad, anarkali was a royal courtesean not a rakasha
Akbar God track
- This is silliest of all tracks, without a great life changing event Akbar becomes god, challenges God half heartedly, blames man singh of trying to kill him and jails him(how silly that scene looked), further earthquake a empress goes outside to serve poor(nonsense when Mughal empress goes out in open without protection that too for months) and now emperor has followed her(who believes such unbelievable tracks none), even more stupid Akbar doing an arthi and all teary eyed as if its jodha's vidaai ceremony silly to say the least, then that dupatta scene everyone wondering what about his other 299 wives does he not have them for company, if he only loved Jodha how did he have murad, daniyal, shakrunissa, khannum and aram from other wives/cocubbines(it looks unbelievable this silly scenes when he has 20 year old sons and daughters)
Further in same track salm goes to watch mujra by anarkali when prev he has conveyed in her dance in front of emperor he hates to watch her dance(practical who wants his girl friend, future wive or lover dancing for money in front of anyone else). All conflicting signals
Initially there were some silly tracks like Benazir track but they were in beginning so viewer beared it gave chance after chance not anymore if such stupid silly story telling continues that is impractical and unbelievable it will dig its own grave
Further scenes look disjointed suddenly one scenes is going on it does not end properly next scene is starting confusing viewer
Neither Akhda nor sanar can revive this if story is so bad so impractical and silly
A good story writer who writes practical and story in sequence required who has knowledge of 16th century and atleast imagination of how royals would behave then.
Look at siyasaat - nissa is married off to ali quli and salim upset but not once he cries or acts silly, he is still a royal prince in his grief and desperation, he does not let go off his dignity his status even in grave circumstances(although he loses his cool and raises hand on Akbar's guard but gathers himself)- although in siyasaat the characters do not wear costly dresses like JA you feel this is how a salim or Akbar may have been in reality would have reacted same way in such circumstances.

myviewprem - An excellent post. JA is a TORTURE or JOKE - we cannot decide ; I alternate depending on day's serving.

And did you see how handsome Salim looked in Siyasat in the latest promos - in the warrior dress ?

I have started liking him so much - His characterization is very good and his acting is top class.

jaya, i know we cannot discuss siyasat here but i cannot stop raving about the royal aura adad adaab and tehzeeb shown in that class show and akbar is akbar..at least i can recognize him and the actors are mind blowing absolutely loving akbar salim and that actress playing jagat she is a dynamite and have not seen her before?..what an actress!..although jagat's portrayal is grey but that actress has impressed me so much that i love watching her scenes and lately except for rajat's traces of brilliance i am seeing average performance..and salim i will not mention as he is not considered a good actor!

ela, siyaasat is not a complete fiction..after reading books on akbar i have realized how much truth they have shown and in the best possible way presentation wise...and yes it does have fiction too..on the other hand JA too has some historical facts but the problem is in the way its being presented..Akbar if you read about him had a larger than life persona and no tom dick and harry could make a noise in front of him let alone insulting him and in the show a keeda too doesn't care about the emperor😆..ab aisi presentation pe kya trp increase hogi..ekta thinks she will please the masses with her cliched low budgeted bakwaas but even the masses have a choice if they find something more entertaining they will switch the channel and think oh god same old crap being shown again..if ekta wants trp then she has to give a dhamaakedaar promo and some major twist that can pop the eyes and not some repetitive tracks which the audience have already seen..right now entertainment is missing..it looks repetitive and boring..akbar is unrecognizable..the basic royal aura that was the usp of the show is missing..the sets look cheap and the script direction everything is shaky..no consistency in characterization..instead of smooth transition in story abrupt changes are being made which is confusing the viewers!

Mandy siyasat ka base hi fictional hai...Ruqlal friendship and Salim-Ruq closeness...baki jo bekaar ki harem politics usme di gayi hai usme tumko kya history mil rahi hai...Poor Maan getting slapped by a bandi, Jagat is shown as arrogant so that Ruk's action of taking her baby can be justified...

BTW in Tuzuk Jahangir says that he gave a piece of land to his father's honoured childless wife Rukaiyya( not badi ammi)...Since then I am wondering abt two things...One is pity that Salim felt for Ruk and second is again inspite of raising khurram Ruk is called childless...So I wonder at the terms and conditions of Khurram being given to Ruk...It definitely was not as this fiction siyasat shows...

In JA they tried to copy this so called friendship and Ruk's obsession with Hasan that she did not let even Jodha come near him as in Siyasat Ruk is obsessed with khurram..

I'm sorry but I don't agree with you. Paridhi has fantastic chemistry with rajat n that is one of the primary reasons the show was a success in the first place.

Nobody denies the excellent chemistry in the grina days. The aarti, the ride, the shamsheerbaazi, it was all excellent. It was the reason the show became a success. But one of the reasons the show spiralled down now is the lack of Chemistry these days. It has become a series of moralscience lectures.

N let's face the fact no one Wants to see a documentary of akbar. N even if the show does show some of jodha achievements it does not undermine akbars achievements in any way nor does it make him look less great.

Ofcourse many signed up for the love story, not a documentary. But nobody signed up for a naari-shakthi mahaanta campaign by the ullufication of one of the greatest Emperors our nation has seen.

And pray, what achievements of Jodha have they highlighted? She was an astute businesswoman who handled trade and pilgrimage, not a bhaashan giver and moral science teacher.

Where has her intelligence or real achievements highlighted?

Right now she stays in ONE village and does lep seva and food distribution and proposes to change the opinion of the ENTIRE awaam spread across 30 lakh sq ft of land? How silly can one get? This is an insult to the intelligence of the real MUZ.

When one falls the other helps that's how love is. Akbar was no superman that he did all by himself. He achieved it with support.
Political matters with help of his navratnas n religious tolerance n change in nature cause of jodha. Remember bairam Khan n maham hated Hindus n they were treated poorly during that era. A postive influence is a must n jodha was that influence. Akbar was not great from day one. He realised mistakes n became great.

What mistakes? The show has portrayed no error reminesence and regret and reformation at all. It would have been okay if his abilities were shown as to have been inspired from those around him. But here, he is like an erronious school student who has no option except be shown the light of knowledge by his guru...i.e., his begumsa.

So jodha has a lot of achievements n credits to her name. So why do people think that jodha doing any political work will undermine akbar achievement.

What political work does she do? Lepping?
Why don't Akbar and jodha do any political work?
The showhas not donejustice to either Akbar or MUZ.

N about rukaiya. She has not loved jalal only her power. She wanted to maintain control over jalal n that's why she hates jodha cause jodha took jalal's heart. Jalal always wanted a wife who cared fr him not his position. Even before jalal married jodha he had asked rukaiya whether she gets jealous of he goes to another wife. Rukaiya clearly said she did not bother. Jalal found that love in jodha. N secondly no one drugs a child of someone you supposedly love. So rukaiya n jalal have nothing as per the show. N for the real rukaiya in akbarnama only the marriage with jodha has been discussed over chapters n ruk is just mentioned in a line.

Wow! Btw aren't we discussing only the show?

Plus in din e ilahi akbar was not in favour of marriage with cousins. Who would he do that if rukaiya was his love? N talking about Khurram. Why did jalal not give his own kids to ruk ? He did it cause it was her who was without a child and she was his freind from childhood. But giving children to raise was a custom n no way it proves that the real ruk was the love of jalal . Siyaasat is about noorjahan n as you know that book is fictional.

Oh yeah! Anything that doesn't declare that Akbar was a ghulam of Jodha is fictional indeed.

This is a drama n some NR is believable n needed. Agree some have been too much. But you can't have a documentary. Like insects could b used to signify things. It's a show fr entertainment also n some symbolism is ok. U don't need to relate everything to history all the time. Every little thing. Salim anarkali had ruined the show. Makers have realised that people want to see jodha Akbar n so have brought the change.

What? With the treacle and lepping routine? 😆 Do you really mean that people want to see a roltu jobless Akbar who cannot even breathe if his love is not near him and his busy madam who does miss him but is oh so full of work?

wow sandhya bang on👏..and ela like sandhya said wherever akbar is not shown jodha's ghulam is a fiction isn't it and siyasat whether flop or a hit but historical facts are there as i too have read material and done discussions but whatever doesn't appeal an individual becomes fiction..at least in siyasat akbar is not ruk's ghulam and ruk doesn't give him lectures and his portrayal is similar to real akbar!

btw the show is for classes and not masses..the common janta will find no thrill in hard core politics for power!
