i just saw a bunch of tweets got bashed as we all have our own views when it comes to such love stories but in my opinion what is a love story?..is it only between a man and a woman? can't it be between a mother and a child? can't it be between a man and his passion for his work?..i think love stories are picturized because they are easy to follow and have the mass appeal..as viewers we feel politics is boring..we want some entertainment and that entertainment we get form the private life of a well known figure and then some gossip juice appears which indeed is the hot topic and of course entertaining!

for me Akbar was never a lover boy..his love stories are not mentioned at length but his achievements are..i think his stories with birbal are more popular than with muz or even with ruk..his love for begums and beauty was inevitable and one will come across one or two pages at the most about his personal life but what we get to read is his political and expansion of mughal empire in india and him being secular in approach towards other religions!

whether his 9 gems made him or he listened to muz but the ultimate decision was his..he was a good listener but used his brain and far sightedness when it came to making or mending the laws..he lapped up all the good that he learnt from people around him and changed his ways how he looks at life for the betterment of his personal being and awaam..he was a keen learner and here if we claim that someone was a positive influence then yes he did have many people in his life who were a good influence on him and were honest and loyal to him!

he was a good judge of character and got into spiritualism in later life as well...and if we say that the whole credit of him being great goes to muz then i have yet to read that paragraph anywhere..i think he was a workaholic..he only slept 4 hrs..spent most of his time in the battlefield and sometimes accompanied by his harem..but all in all he was a one man army and that is how he is known in history..does not matter what the serial or the movies cash upon but for me Akbar will be more known for his great achievements than love stories and i will measure his capabilities on the extraordinary qualities he possessed and not on how much he loved whom and what time he spent with whom..let his personal life rest in peace and let us all enjoy reading and learning what we can from this great personality who had his flaws and greatness like any great personality would!

and i think his real love was hindustan he was passionate about extending boundaries and working in harmony with the people of hindustan and that is where his secular thinking helped him achieve that harmony to some extent and the laws that he changed which made him great were mended with much thought and consultation rather than abruptly as shown in the serial!

how i wish the cvz should have created a better and a realistic NR that weaved the advices of muz and 9 gems logistically and realistically in changing the administration for better and how i wish polygamy should have been treated with more delicacy and respect rather than making his first wife a monster!

anyway! these are my thoughts on this great personality..may he rest in peace and may his achievements be justified and respected and given the due credit rather than blindly following what the show caters..thank you!

Nice post mandy Everyone knows Akbar's acievment since his chapters there in school history books and I read about Akbar and Jodha in my 8 th standard history book where she was mentioned mother of salim and since than I was curious to know about their relation.I was facinated with the fact of barefoot walk to Ajmer sharif.Mugal era's diwali and offcourse Din e ilahi. thats why I came to watch this show in a hope that it would take me to the ride of 16 century from 21 century .It will showcase rich culture of that time. It will show bravery of a warrior ,wait of a wife whose husband was on war, emperor's grand welcome by all after winning, celebrations .festivals of both culture .Amalgamation of two culture via marriage of Jodha and Akbar but instead of that I get Akbar kidnapped and tortured. Elegant lady of history belongs to a clan where death is prefered over touch of other man run away with a monster khyber No grand celebration of heir's arrival. step mother made drug addict to an eight year old. Each time they cross the level of stupidity and nonsense. I know its JA and I was well aware and prepared that wont show and his achievment Akbar all the time but I dont expect this too. Instead of focusing on their writing, acting, directing skills and costume deparment they focus on fighting with fans.If they deliver good track audience automatically give them TRP . everytime cheap publicity stunt had hai yaar If Jodha was fictional why they are hell bend to proove Karni sena wrong. shuru mai hi karni sena Jodha naam k against thi .they said jodha dowsnt exist its heera kunwari on that time makers doesnt agree to change the name .Now what happened? Honestly they were getting publicity on that time by protest so they doesnt change the name and now they are repeating same trick with twisted manner. Ekta is worse in making a historical. Sab culture ki band baja di hindu ho ya islamic. She insulted respected figures of history Akbar rukaiyaa and MUZ to the extent that their is no repair. Rukaiyaa ek respected empress ko drug peddler bana diya. Akbar jisse duniya darti thi usko bandi bana diya MUZ respected lady ko khyber k saath bhaga diya 9 gems ka to poocho hi mat Todermal ko rape accused bana diya salim a loving son ko hard core parent hater bana diya. Sorry to say but they are incapable to handle a show forget historical and mandy you are talking about polygamy ek lovestory thik se handle nahi hui inse I wish ekta never dream anything and dont touch history in future. Sorry if I was harsh and anyone feel offended with my comment but I wrote what I feel.

There are hardly any scenes in the NR about the gr88ness of Akbar his regime and some of his policies which are still being followed till this day the mansabs subas which are nothing but districts and states in an evolved form from mansabs subas the decentralization of tax collection the federal system the central and state governance, law and order and administration, his awesome military strategy, the secular system etc to mention a few. not going into history but comparing today with yesterday.
This show has just been reduced to JA romance thinking this is what the viewers want shows the paucity of ideas and thinking on the part of CVs( whether it is of one generation or next) hardly showing the achievements of Ja Jo together or separately

The title of your post misrepresents Akbar the emperor...he was never a one man army...he had a very very very large army and was able to succeed as much as he did because of his ability to command it. His strength was not in doing the job himself but decentralization of control and ability to place right people for the right job.
If there was an one man army among Akbar's contemporaries it was Maharana Pratap who despite being a price spent a large part
of his life in facing hardships of jungles, he chose self respect and freedom instead of a life of comforts that an alliance with Akbar would have afforded him. He barely had an army or weapons at his disposals despite this won back most of his kingdom back and ensured Akbar never knew peace wrt him till end of his life.

The title is not in a figurative sense but has to be perceived as his approach to governance and ruling. He indeed must have called the shots and taken final decision post hearing advices from all his navratans - To the extent of having control over his kingdom and empire, he was a one man army. ABSOLUTE CONTROL over his empire, subjects and Kingdom.

personally i heard of jodha only when the film was made
before that i too knew akbar only by his achievements
no where is my history books i had come across jodha begam
i had read about some famous rajput queens in history
like rani padmini and some others
but i never read of jodha begam
i doubt if it is is a part of the syllabus even today
but there are many things about his achievements
he must have been a very active emperor
i also feel that he must have had good relations with all 3 chief begams
the rest is believe is fictional folklore which the movie first created
i am also sure the real harka was far different from the onscreen character

Personally i dont think Akbar could have "called all the shots" given the vastness of empire and times of ancient era communication, anyhow if its only about Absolute control then i suppose Akbar was a dictator and was able to control given a large army and uneducated poor population of few crores.

You are free to form your own opinion !! History is a testament and a dictator will not be so revered. All historians call him not only brave and strategist but an enlightened king who always thought of the welfare of his subjects - His social reforms are IN-THING even today.
