salim's childhood was that of any privileged child, a child of an emperor, there is no mention of salim hating his parents, as a child. i am given to understand by some books i'v read that salim idolised akbar, though he was a little afraid of him, he was know to always want to please him and gain his approval. though not much is mentioned between the bond of salim and his mother Hira bai/ jodha, but that he participated in her hindu rituals and festivals. had hence was by birth secular.
the rift had supposedly taken place between akbar and salim when salim felt that akbar did not give him enough responsibilities as crown prince in administrative decisions of the sultanate.
akbar sorted the council of his close advisers of the time and salim was not aloud to be involved in the discussions and such
and of course some state that salims illicit involvement with one of akbar's concubines is also rumored to have been a rift when salim was 18 or 19 and akbar exiled him to Afghanistan for a few years, the courtesan rumored to be anarkali.
but showing salim hating his parents as a 9 year old child and continuing to hate them for so many years is a little over the top. we understand that the serial does not claim to show historical facts.
but at least common sense can be expected according to child behaviour and psychology.
a child prince or commoner may be angry with his parents but he absolutely cannot hate them. unless they continuously physically abused him or sold him in the slave market.
the cv should not forget that what ever they are showing is not about a fictional character they made up, but the personality was at one time Emperor of Hindustan, and a real person in history, and thus part of our great country's great history and heritage
