Hello friends...πŸ˜ƒ
Saw yesterday's epi today morning... (though I seriously marvel at my increased capacity to tolerance of nonsense & inanity these days ...πŸ˜† )...

On Thursday, cvs showed us MUZ finally understanding Ruqu's true motives... of manipulating the waliahad by distancing him from his parents & getting close to him...trying to promote herself from BADI Ammijaan to Ammijaan...which Jo very rightly pointed out to her... πŸ‘πŸΌ

Yesterday, on Friday, cvs showed MUZ pacifying Ruqu & actually STOPPING her from leaving the palace ...this, despite Jo knowing that Ruqu plans to harm her precious baby...& the heir to the MUGHAL SULTANATE.....πŸ‘ŽπŸΌ

IMO, this neither sits well with Jo, the mother nor with Jo, the MUZ...Had Ruqu actually left, her child & hence the heir could have been left in peace for the rest if his life from the clutches of his obsessive, evil, insecure & wicked step mom...

1)Everytime Jalal has wanted to punish Ruqu, he has been stopped by Jo from doing so...Jo begum wins so many brownie points in the eyes of the audience...

WHEN EVER JO HAS BEEN KIND TO RUQU, IT HAS BEEN CITED AS HER INNATE GOODNESS, WHILE JALAL'S GOODNESS IS CITED AS HIS COWARDLINESS n SPINELESSNESS πŸ˜• πŸ˜†

2)Jalal had issued a farmaan to Ruqu to fulfil her wish...Ruqu wanted one of the twins...Jalal realised that this did not come under HIS rights, n refused firmly putting his foot down, rightly so...but Jo insisted on promising one of her unborn twins to Ruqu, citing "saving honour of Shehenshah" as the reason for doing so...πŸ˜•

WHEN THE SHEHENSHAH HIMSELF KNOWS WHAT COMES UNDER HIS RIGHTS & WHAT DOESNT, HOW RIGHT/WRONG WAS JO IN PUTTING HER FOOT DOWN N SUCCUMBING TO RUQU'S PLAN? ?? πŸ˜•

3)Yesterday, the cvs have firmly established Jo as being a person deeply & irrevocably in love with the IMAGE she projects...
i) in TM case, she couldn't see TM'S loyalty due to nari shakti issues...nari shakti promoted her "feminist" image.....
ii) in MS case, she couldn't see Jalal's restrictions as he is law bound...supporting MS here promoted her "loyalty" image...
iii) Ruqu case: I have discussed in detail above...this promotes her "mahaan" image....that despite living amidst a harem with all types of plotting going on around her, Jo remains above it all...

Jo prefers to protect her image than to protect her child...this characterisation of Jo is a MAJOR MAJOR flaw of the cvs...coz there is no instinct bigger than the maternal instinct in this world for a woman who is a mother...NONE AT ALL.😊

You nailed it ...there is nothing bigger than the maternal instinct

Even around me I know of people (esp in joint families) who put the interests of the members of their family above their child's interests. Quite appalling.

A mother should be like a tigress - fiercely protective of her cubs...and to the mother, nothing else can be greater than the good of the child. Mother is not only a care-giver but also a protector.

You are right. Jodha is trapped in the image of her righteousness. This image of her is not allowing her to see Ruqaiyya's intentions. Where are her maternal instincts? It would have been better if Jodha realised that first and foremost Mariam-Uz-Zamani is a mother...there is no MUZ without being the mother.

I have no problem in her showing good-heartedness to all and sundry, but when it comes to her child, I feel she needs to put her child's safety above everything, above every relationship - be it Jalal's other wives or Jalal himself. So, I can understand why Jalal put Maan Singh and Salima under house-arrest...it was the protective streak of a father speaking then.

Having said that I hope Jodha at least uses some of her tactfulness (which btw I have never ever seen on the show) to ensure that her kid is out of Ruqaiyya's influence, and keep him safe

Jodha isahi hi hai - She is an extraordinary woman, who goes against husband and who puts her son not in the first spot. She will go all out aginst RUKS, to protect Baandhis but not for her son.
Story is to be seen as JJ and Other woman kind of lens and not as a history show, then it is interesting. πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜Š

Kids have given their final shots it seems...
Going to miss gulab jamun cutie pie murad...😭

If Rajat doesn't play Salim, I quit.πŸ˜• The SA story has to be between Rajat-Akbar and Rajat-Salim and a sizzling Anarkali who NOWHERE bears even the slightest resemblence to the little cactus. No more Jodha middle aged bhaashans on uchith and anuchith and Ruqaiya's evil smiles.

Even then it is not. The hero, rather the so called hero should have been a farmer in the foothills of the Himalayas and not a Mughal Emperor, that too the best one. Then the heroine can have all her nek manshas and righteousness...read practical foolishness.

Oops..Galti ho gayi...

Oh! Yes Akbar built his Empire only by learning to sing sthuthis of Jo and weeping like a leaky tap and MUZ was nek dil never-wrong while every other Mughal was a traitor and Jallu found solace only in his begumsa's maika... Every pedia that rates Jodha begum as anything less than Mother India is blasphemous. He had EACH one of his children from begumsa and all his other haremites were mere lamp posts. He also kicked Ruqaiya (who was reduced to a baandhi when Jo became MUZ as she was evil enough to be Voldemort's sister) so hard out of his life that she landed in Kaabul staight into a grave beside her grampa. Salima too was a saint who lived with the memories of her Mr.Khan and tied raakhi on her legal husband's hand every year ...Correct Gayatri...hope my answer is within syllabus...🀣
