Jodha happily hummed to her favorite song Tum Hi Ho' as she made her bed. She had heard that her dorm partner was going to show up today so she wanted to be prepared.

There was knocking on the door and Jodha started squealing eagerly. She had always thought about college and of course about how her dorm partner would be. She had read in a few books that dorm partners could end up being the bestest friends.

Jodha put up a smile on her face and rushed to open the door. "Hii..." she began to say but stopped when she saw Rukaiya.

"Tum Ruks!" Jodha asked in surprise. "Oh come in!"

Rukaiya pushed past Jodha and went to sit on the bed on Jodha's side of the room.

"Well..?" Jodha asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Well, I just know that I have to meet this dorm partner!" Rukaiya exclaimed. "She has created so much suspense in your life, so I have to meet her."

"You don't have to" Jodha mumbled under her breath.

"ah.." Rukaiya said, not noticing the look of disapproval on Jodha's face.

"Your bed is so comfy" Rukaiya carried on as she pulled the blanket over her.

"um Ruks?" Jodha asked Rukaiya. "I wanted this moment to be special...?"

"What moment?" Rukaiya asked in confusion.

"Well.. actually nothing" Jodha replied, pressing her lips together.

Well, there are some things that you are eager for and you want to do them alone.

Like that, she wanted to be the first to meet the new girl.

Oh, well there were some downsides to having a best friend who shadowed over half of your life.

Jodha went over and sat down on the other bed that was provided in the room.

"Rukaiya.. get up!" Jodha snapped. "How will the new girl react?!"

"I don't care.. please don't disturb me Jodha" Rukaiya mumbled sleepily. "I have such a hard time sleeping in my dorm room, my partner snores".

Jodha snickered. "You do have a tendency to exaggerate matters" she said laughingly.

Rukaiya was unaware as to what Jodha was saying because by now she had pulled out her ipod and plugged in her headphones. Then Rukaiya turned on her side and shut her eyes until she fell asleep.

Jodha smiled nervously at Rukaiya's sleeping form. She was getting restless. When would this dorm partner show up?

She peeked out of her room and heard footsteps.

She gasped and immediately barged back into her room. "Ruks wake up!" Jodha said excitedly. "I think she's here!"

As Jodha heard no response from her she pulled out Rukaiya's earbuds.

"Come on.." Rukaiya moaned lazily. "Lemme rest in peace."

"You're not dead you idiot.. anyhoo get up!" Jodha said smacking Rukaiya on her arm.

"Ow!" Rukaiya said as she got up from the bed.

They heard the sound of high heels and they both turned around.

Jodha smiled eagerly at the woman standing before them.

"Heya-" Jodha began to say as she stepped forward, but the lady held up a hand.

"Ugh," the lady said as she walked to her side of the room.

Jodha and Rukaiya just watched her with wide eyes.

"I assume this is my side?" the lady scoffed.

Jodha nodded and started to speak. "Hello-"

"I am quite tired, I think I will go change and then sleep" the lady muttered to herself.

She began to pull out some sleepwear and waked into the restroom.

Rukaiya clicked her tongue in disapproval once the lady was out of earshot. "She is your partner? She didn't even look at us!"

"I guess she must be tired" Jodha said brightly. "It's okay, we'll introduce ourselves laterz."

Rukaiya nodded but put her hand on Jodha's shoulder. "Be careful around this fashionetta, you don't know how these kind of ladies are."

"Oh Rukaiya.." Jodha said, chuckling. "It's nothing like that, you go get some sleep."

"Okay" Rukaiya agreed and gave Jodha a quick hug before stepping out of the room.

Jodha put her hands on her hips and pouted. "Who would ignore such a cute girl like me?!"

The next morning Jodha was awoken to the sound of a girl's shrieks. She immediately got up and put on her slippers. "What's wrong??" Jodha said going into the restroom, from where the sound was coming.

The girl held up a banana peel. "What the heck?!" she asked Jodha incredulously. "Seriously?"

Jodha looked stumped and seemed to be trying to remember something. "oh yes!" she said, when she finally remembered.

"I was trying to eat and get ready at the same tim-"

"Shut up!" the girl snapped. "From now on this won't do.. you are here to study at least don't act like an illiterate!"

With this Jodha's temper had reached at it's peak and her nose was bright red. "How dare you!" she yelled back at the girl. "Just because I don't say anything to you doesn't mean I don't know how to!"

"Ooh this girl know hows to talk" the girl replied sarcastically.

"Jodha" Jodha huffed angrily.

"Mua is Moti" Moti scoffed, placing her hands on her hips. She made a pose for Jodha to see.

"Moti?" Jodha asked giggling. "You consider yourself fat.." Jodha put a hand to her mouth as she laughed at her.

"Moti meaning my name is Moti!" Moti snapped back. "You are such an immature brat, I can't believe-"

"Oyee!" Jodha said, her face back to normal now. "You won't talk to me like that understood?"

"And if I do what will you do huh?" Moti asked taking a step towards her.

Jodha brought her face near Moti's and hollered "Boo!" Then she turned on her spot and left with anger.

Moti rolled her eyes and tossed the banana peel on Jodha's bed, and then went back to combing her hair.

"Someone looks angry today."

"Haan Jalal I am very mad today" Jodha replied. She explained to him what had happened with her dorm partner. Both of them had met at the library to do their homework together. They were huddled together around a table in the back of the library.

The librarian just gave them looks of utter disbelief. Two people who were enemies up until yesterday were doing their homework together?!

"Are you sure that you're in your final year?" Jodha asked Jalal who was asking Jodha for help for the twelfth time.

Jalal nodded. "Why? Do I look young?" he asked with a smirk.

"I don't know about looks but you are dumb" Jodha told him. "There is a limit to goofiness. Leave it behind when you enter the classroom."

Jodha glared at Jalal before taking his pen and paper. "Now look.. this is where you messed up" she said circling the area. "You just have to-"

"Silence!" the librarian snapped as she came over to glare at them.

"just one sec-" Jalal said to Jodha and got up to stand next to the librarian.

"Ms., why so angry? We are just kids."

"That's right" Ms. Lory said.

"Haan" Jalal said, impressed by himself. The librarian agreed so fast.

"Jalal, she agrees that we are kids" Jodha said stressing on the word kids'.

Jalal looked back at the librarian. "Ms. Lory..?"

"Out" Ms. Lory said pointing out.

"But Mam we were just-" Jodha started to say.

"Out" Ms. Lory said, and she walked away to make it clear that she wasn't changing her mind.

"That's not fair!" Jalal protested. "It just isn't!"

Jodha shook her head and took a hold on Jalal's hand. "Come.. let's go."

"Would you like some coffee?" Jalal asked Jodha, as they still had some time left before leaving for their classes.

"I sure would Jalal, but I promised Ruks that I'd meet her" Jodha said apologetically.

"Fine" Jalal said crossing his arms and turning his back on Jodha. "Go."

"Arre Jalal.. don't be angry na.." Jodha said.

Jalal ignored her.

"Ja-lal" Jodha tried again. "O-K fine, let's go."

Jalal beamed at Jodha afterwards and they both walked into the canteen hand in hand.

All the girls surveyed Jodha enviously. Jalal noticed that and squeezed Jodha's hand even more tightly.

"leave my hand Jalal" Jodha whispered angrily. "everyone will think we're girlfriend boyfriend."

"Well that we kind of are" Jalal said mischieviously.

"Kya?" Jodha said, incredulously. "Jalal, we are only friends."

"Whatever" Jalal mumbled, rolling his eyes.

After their coffee had arrived, Jodha frowned. "Why is it so bitter?"

"Should I drink it?" Jalal asked. "It will make it much more sweeter."

Jodha glared at him. "No, I am fine."

"Hey guys!" Rukaiya said, surprising Jalal.

"Hey Ruks, come sit!" Jodha exclaimed. "I texted Ruks to come here because I didn't want either of you to feel bad because of me."

Jalal nodded knowingly. "It's cool" he said.

Rukaiya smiled brightly and took a seat next to Jalal. Soon after that, Maan showed up. "Hi guys" he said taking a spot next to Jodha. "What's up?"

"We're playing hockey, wanna play?" Rukaiya asked him sarcastically.

"Where's the hockey sticks?" Maan asked taking a look around.

"Buddhu, she means to say that we are all having coffee." Jodha explained to him smilingly.

"Oh!" Maan said immediately realizing his mistake. "That explains it."

"Well.." Jalal said, as he looked around at all of them. "Now that we are all here, I would like to invite you guys to my brother's anniversary party."

"Really?" Rukaiya asked eagerly. "That would be wonderful!"

"um, I'll have to ask mom" Jodha mumbled under her breath,

and Maan just said, "Cool bro!"

In the afternoon, Jodha stepped into the computer lab to finish off some of her work.

She worked in silence for a couple of minutes before she thought of something.

A smile was forming on her lips as she typed in Jalaluddin Mohammed on Facebook.

The first thing she did was send Jalal a friend request. "There" she said proud of herself. "Now, he will accept."

Just then Jodha's cell phone began ringing. "Hello..?" she said. "Haan, I am coming! Ruks stop pestering me, I know we have to attend the party!"

Hanging up, Jodha shoved all her notes into her purse and left from there. She forgot to logout from her account. She was always in a rush.

Immediately after, Moti came towards the computer Jodha had left.

She looked at what Jodha had done. "Ooh.. so she's into that Jalal..." Moti said to herself. "But I don't want that."

She pressed a bunch of keys and managed to take back the friend request. "There" she said satisfied with her work. She was even with Jodha for leaving that dumb banana peel.

"When someone dares talk back to me, this is what I do" Moti muttered. "Next time she does something, she'll pay a bigger price." Moti said, smiling at Jalal's profile picture.

Then she pressed log out and left from there.

"How do I look?" Rukaiya asked Jodha eagerly.

"Wonderful" Jodha told her. "Now help me get ready, you know I am bad at those kinds of things."

"Ok sit, I'll get out your dress" Ruks told Jodha as she went to look in her closet.

"How about we wear matching sarees?" Rukaiya blurted out a few minutes later.

Jodha began to smile eagerly. "Haan, we can do that."

"Hai na? Thanks to my wonderful thought" Rukaiya said proudly.

"So finally. We are ready." Rukaiya said as they both stood side by side and looked into the mirror.

"Tum dekhna, we'll be the best looking girls in the party" Jodha said with a wink.

"Especially you" Rukaiya said pressing her cheek against Jodha's. "you are gorgeous."

"I wonder what Jalal's gonna wear" Rukaiya said dreamily.

Jodha laughed. "he's not normal, I know he'll wear something dumb."

"Tum bhi na.." Rukaiya said to Jodha, and they both giggled.

"You know I also invited Bablu" Jodha announced happily.

"You..what?" Rukaiya asked, her smile fading. "You invited someone to Jalal's party?"

"Oh no no, Jalal said I could bring anyone with me" Jodha explained.

"Oh." Rukaiya said. "Okay. But be careful around that guy. He's not as innocent as he looks."

"Tum hi na.." Jodha said shaking her head innocently. "It's nothing like that."
