I wish Ekta could read your post, not the CV's, just Ekta. I had thought that the main journey of Jodha Akbar was just about starting, so many incidents to show, so much of the growth in interpersonal relationship to depict, that is why the leap rumor is so disconcerting. The condition is made worse by some members reveling in the prospect and making voluminous, mocking posts about it.

My common sense still tells me that business dictates that there will be no leap.

Anyway, coming back to your points. If even 50% of what you say is implemented, the serial will be back in the rosy health days of Feb/Mar.

I will add the following. The need for more time for male characters is a good one. Who would not want to see the romance of a lovable character like Man Singh and his marriage or the travails of Todar Mal, as he refurbishes temples and rehauls the revenue system.

It is also important to have a happy phase in the serial. There is one after another dreary negative drama at present. What about some time celebrating festivals like Karva Chauth or Teej or a lavish marriage ceremony? For most viewers of JA, physical romance is not needed, all that is needed is the presence of a Jodha and Jalal in the same frame.

Having said all that, one should not forget that even after enduring disgusting tracks of Mahachuchak, Nigar, Khaiber, Atifa etc, the average rating is still only 20-30% less than the peaks. The serial still ranks in the top 3. That tells something of how sold the JA viewer base is. If things are done right, that 20-30% can easily be won back.

Nice post Divya....i like the title..Nowadays the most discussed topic in dis forum is Romance..Even during ghrina days, their love story was not based on push pulls..i think jalal,tried dat only once, in their first night in agra....But there was romance..But now, dey are with each other in almost all scenes..but there is no such a thing called feeling of togetherness..it looks like they are bored with each other..😕..and i'm bored with their scenes..ofcourse,there r people who like those scenes,because when two good looking actors,especially leads came in same frame, it makes them happy..But unfortunately it didn't work for me..😭..If they r planning to leap,i want salim-Noor story..but same time i don't want Ekta to butcher Noor 's charecter ..i'm very much happy with the old DD1 show..😃

No there can't be any MU at this point as Jalal has given Jodha a go ahead signal to do whatever she feels fit at that moment for Maham but he is not interested. Even he would anot have wished for Maham's death with so much of Agony and illusion of her dead son. So whatever she would have done for Maham by lying to her about her Grand son, was just to give her some peace of mind before death. She wanted her death to a pleasant one than painful. I really felt for Maham the way she looked longingly at Jodha when she told her that her son Adham is going reborn as his son and is now ready for it in Javveda's womb. her expression were so opt and she could not believe her ears and at the same time, she could not call them bullshit as she knew deep down, Jodha will not make a mockery of it. So she wants to believe but she can't. She can't thank Jodha any more for giving her some respire before her death.
