Sahib, Biwi, aur Baby
The unwittingly funny scene yesterday was SD hurrying away with the baby somewhere with Bakshi following her Sharif Sahib and pleading with him to return the baby to her. 🤣
This baby is the best baby I have ever seen. It is never hungry, cold/hot/needing attention... It has never cried since the first wail at birth. Or is Bakshi such a great mother? 😲
Todarmal and Man Singh added to the melee by following the duo in a rush of concern for the baby. Why didn't they stop SD and ask him where he was taking the baby? They seemed more like TV reporters wishing to cover everything live rather than save someone in possible dire straits.
Even the maids just stepped aside as if SD and Bakshi were going for a moonlit stroll with the baby. Aren't the maids in Agra trained to notice unusual activities and report them to the harem in charge or Mariam Makani?

The Anticlimax
After all the suspense of what SD would do with the baby, the end was a fizzle out. 😕 He simply went to Jalal and asked for forgiveness.
Side Note: Jalal must be the most accessible emperor in the entire world history. Anyone can walk into his bedroom any time of the day or night with their grievance and it will be taken care of. Doesn't anyone in Agra know of two minor points - security and privacy?
Security should have been strengthened after Adham's near-attack on Jalal. But that would be expecting too much?
The security guards seem to have it as easy as the maids. They don't need to do anything except occasionally stop a begum from going to meet Jalal. (Apparently they fear danger more from the begums than the armed warriors. ) Jalal himself is fully capable of protecting himself. He has reinforcements in the form of Todarmal and Man SIngh. It might be better for him to simply fire all the guards. At least, he can save some money.
It was obvious to the most unobservant viewer (like me) that SD was putting on an act. But, as ordained by the CVs, Bakshi and Jodha seemed to believe in the genuineness of it all.
Jalal himself was not in a forgiving mood towards the man who had hurt his sister. Not even Jodha had been able to fully convince him to let SD go free. But just as he itched to raise his shamsheer and behead SD (who was grimacing like a schoolboy about to be spanked by his teacher for not doing his homework), his sister looked at him pleadingly and shook her head ever so slightly. The blink-and-you-miss-it gesture was so powerful in its entreaty that the sword dropped from Jalal's hand and he grudgingly forgave SD all his sins. SD looked like the cat that had brought in a dead mouse and been allowed to eat it in peace at its owner's feet.
Though all the royal ladies praised Jalal and he praised Jodha in turn for helping him in being gracious enough to forgive his brother-in-law, I did not approve of it. No good can come from forgiving a bad egg. The more it is allowed to rot, the more stink it will produce. 🤢
To top it, SD has now been so emboldened by Jalal forgiving him that he doesn't seem to think twice before holding Jodha's hand in tonight's episode. 😡
I would not like Jodha to be linked publicly in any manner with this lech because the ladies in the harem are fully capable of mud slinging. Just wish Jalal would throw out SD at the earliest opportune moment. 😡
