Divi,
Lovely post, and I don't want to be the drop of lime juice in a bowl of yummy kheer, but, the treatment of the entire girl child issue has been really um uncomfortable.
It was karela in kheer ... you forgot my analogy ... tsk tsk! 😆 And that is where we just have to zoom out and see the point and forget the execution ... it is OTT for a reason.I am a history buff but, no expert so help me someone, I don't know if Bakshi ever had a child, but, if female infanticide is the route CVs take to show this, it's disturbing. I know one can't analyse the medieval era with a 21st century mindset.
But the issue is - what they are showing is very much a mindset event todayAnd I really feel bad for BB. It's bad enough to be abused by a husband with a roving eye, but, now lying about a child's gender is too much. I really didn't like, the slap especially when she was having labour pains, and today's hand-grazing while handing over the baby was icky to the extreme. Can't Jodha ever get a message? 😡 Aarrrgh!
Jodha can't get the message , just like she can't stop asking "Aap yahan, is samay" 😆Though it was short-sightedness on BB's part to lie about the baby, given that there would be a circumcision ritual soon, I really don't know who to blame anymore. And Divi, I think Jalaal's gone on one of his costume party with Riyayah.
You know why the CVs introduced the war don't you? It is solely because Jalal is not there during the SD issue and Jodha didn't have to feel bad she didn't tell Jalal
But, question, why are Jodha's kasams so flexible? 😉😆
Oh don't get back to my CVs , where is my Jodha post ... she is is inconsistent with her kasams ... and the one time she should have broken her kasam she should not haveI loved that you took Jalaal's full name, you repsect him a lot for his views right? 👏
I was inspired by Jodha yesterday 😆 Yes of courseAlthough a point to ponder, though Ruqaiyya shown heartless, and power-hungry here, brought up Khurram (Shah Jehan) to be the most artistic Mughal (given his bend towards architecture), and a good king and loving and caring family man, while good old Salim, well, the less said the better. 🤔
You know- that is where I feel Ruqaiyya might have evolved by then ... as she was given a child to raise when she would get no title from itGreat post!
Thanks!
