After an emotionally charged week, things were beginning to settle down. The beghums were back to gossiping, and Todar Mal was back to keeping the books, counting the moolah and basically being himself.
Hamida beghum decided to step up and take charge. Her DEK scene, just highlighted the fact that henceforth, it would be Todar Mal and Man Singh who will take charge of the workings of the empire. A subtle shift in the power centers. Note: Apparently, there are many thrones in the store room, Jalaal burns one, and they supply another within hours. 😆 And Shariffuddin, needs to be sent to some suba pronto, his twitchy behaviour in DEK is distracting.
Bakshi Banu scene was a needless filler. Somebody please tell HB to send her stuff directly and not courier them through Jodha. It's excruciating to watch Bakhi fuming at Sharifuddin salivating at Jodha. And Jodha, must be a real simpleton to not understand Bakshi's intention behind asking her to leave.
The entire Agra looks like a chain reaction, Salima talks to Jodha, Jodha talks to Jalaal. Somebody, please give Jalaal some Yoga CDs to help him relax, and basically do something other than floating around the palace delirious like some 90 year old (I have seen some really sharp 90 year olds, no offence). And the painting room scene was not something one wants on a Monday, that too after a 3 day weekend. But, Jodha was all serious, and well-meaning, till Jalaal had to decide that the only way to stop the avalanche was by leaving the room.
I think it would do Jalaal lot of good, to banish the word MUZ right now. That word brings in a lot of smoke. 😆
