for the past few weeks, i must say a week post mirchi war is when i started watching the show again with a gap of couple of weeks and with one hope that we will see our intelligent jalal again the one who is on top of things..the one who is confident..and the one who is brave and not weepy!..we did get to see the glimpse of him and how happy i was to see him back in form! we were all planning to celebrate his return but again things started going back to what i dreaded but with a slight twist..he was still the strong emperor but with traits of humanity and again forgiving adham for his mistakes..which led to his killing and then the curse..and at last the break down! in my post i will dissect the three stages of jalal's characterization...pl bare with me it will be long and here i will discuss ekta's jalal who has traces of real akbar but not as a whole!
jalal-pre jodha phase
-this is the jalal we all loved who was in control and top of all the things..he was ruthless but still had a tinge of humanity in him! he never wanted to torture common people when the war was won and fine example is how he stops adham who is misusing his power!
- he has his own principles he is a sincere friend and its proven by how he saves abul so bravely and with his great presence of mind!
-he is determined and will get what he wants by hook or by crook and fine example being how he got HK to marry him by agreeing to all her conditions!
-he was always secular in belief as he never forced any hindu to convert into muslim even though many of his subordinates were fanatics!
-he had this impression that he can only rule by creating fear in all the rulers that if they do not surrender they will have to face khauf-e-jalal, as a result of which many gave up and i must say it did work in expanding his kingdom!
-he always appreciated brave and honest people and that is how he picked MS and that is why he fell in love with fiery jodha!
jalal-with jodha phase
-once jalal realized his feelings for jodha he realized he had dil and as they say when one falls in love one tries to behave the way the partner wants and in this phase he did what jodha felt happy about, he changed himself for her..he became more human and started doing things for betterment of awaam..which i must say he already was but by falling in love he became more human and understood the meaning of relations..emotions..and attachments!
-he was less of karoor and more of touchy feely of which we got to see in abundance through his weeping scenes..now can we label him a weak weepy jalal? or can we say that this was his other side of the character that was not explored yet and with jodha opening the doors of his heart made him more attached and with attachments come weakness naturally!..there is always fear of loosing loved ones and that is why they say a family man is weaker in emotions than a bachelor!
-and this jalal also did not want to fight against his own people and he bared all his feelings to jodha whom he loves and its jodha that shows him what is more important the safety of awaam or his relatives?..again we condemn this weak weepy jalal who with his new found dil is running away from responsibilities and why he needs reminders what he needs to do? does that label him an escapist or irresponsible?..i would say no!..these weak moments come into every person's life be it king or a beggar after all we all are humans..but we all come out of it even stronger and so did he!
-he never wanted war against his own people and wanted solutions other than war but people like MC or AM do not understand the language of love and compassion! that is why jalal being the emperor the almighty for many gave them chances to improve..and it shows how much of a human he was and not a foolish...he wanted to give them fair chance but at the end who died as a failure not him but them!
jalal-the current phase
-this is the jalal that we have been seeing lately..is our TE back? are we getting the old jalal back? and i must say yes! we have our jalal back but in a refined way and i am liking this jalal!
-the current jalal has been purified through fire..he was karoor to begin with..became soft with feelings of true love..then he pardoned his loved ones time and again and time and again they committed mistakes..and now this jalal has had enough..this jalal will be an angel to the ones that serve him with full honesty and commitment..but will be strict and karoor with the ones that are dishonest to him..unfaithful to him..and revolt against him..he send this message to the whole awaam by giving example of adham's death!
-he has lost his atalikh yet again..he has lost his ammijaan after she cursed his unborn children and that was like last nail in the coffin..he has lost his loved ones..he blames the takht for it..he says its power that takes away you love the most and its power that keeps the devils close to you and by the time those devils start showing their true colors it gets too late..now does he want to escape from the responsibilities of awaam or does he wants to eliminate this one power takht..a takht where the whole power is centered..does he want democracy? maybe he was thinking ahead of his times but was the world of 16th century ready for it?..and here i am just wondering if he did make any changes to change the system to an extent that the power was not just centered to one man or at one point!
-as mentioned by the soul talk it will lead to naya sawera and this is how i look at it from my point of view and i will wait for it to unfold in the upcoming tracks but i might be wrong or i might be right!
this refined jalal has burnt the takht and fire symbolizes purity..through his one bad phase he now knows who are his well wishers and who are the ones that just want takht..now jodha for sure is in his good books..he has TM MS MK Aziz in the line as well..now he will realize that how he can rule better with honest people and he will now clean the system of his corrupt employees and he will give the responsibilities not to his own people just because he needs to return doodh ka karz or just they are related in blood but he will give the responsibilities to the ones who are worthy of it..this will be the naya sawera..even his 9 gems were the ones that deserved it and not the undeserved ones!..this change in him ..this turmoil in him will lead him to more refined and better ways to rule and will further open his eyes to see the dawn more clearly..and as far as the curse is concerned he will come out of it slowly together with jodha's strength and faith in god which will eventually pave path for spiritualism in his later years after he conquers all and has it all!
folks, i am looking forward to this new jalal who will not only be a better emperor but will also be on top of everything and will set an example of being great in true sense!
please share your views if you agree with me and also share which jalal would you all want to watch in current and future tracks!
