Thanks, Donjas! So sweet of you to say so.

You should visit Abhay's thread (Soul vs Intellect) today for that's where we have both made quite a few posts that I'm sure you'll find interesting. 😊

Someone should inform the CVs about this Ideas thread. Let's also think how we want the leap to be handled and what we would like to see after the leap.

Friday's episode was beautiful.

I loved how Jalal apologized to the ladies and declared that he would never hurt or insult anyone from his harem. 😊

The AkDha scene that followed was the most beautiful scene in ages, making up for all the tortorous episodes in the recent days (till last week esp).

Jalal made Jodha feel so special and promised to pay her back with loads of love for every tear he had made her shed. 😳This is the magical JA we want to see. Where the whiff of love is in the air and there's magic happening on the screen in front of our eyes.

I hope the next few days - Adham killing Atga, Jalal killing Adham, etc are handled subtly without OTT melodrama. Already the promo about Jalal burning the throne is making me jittery again. Why do we need such scenes?

A strong Jalal would not go around burning things in his grief. He would know how to grieve with dignity and restraint. CVs, please do not forget he is an emperor. He will be controlled in the way he vents or breaks down. And he may cry and break down in the private quarters with his begums or mother, but he would never do that in the DEK, where the aam janta can watch him.

I hope we get more AkDha scenes - and meaningful ones - where Jodha supports him in one of the toughest phases in his life, as he adjusts to life without Maham and Atga.

Jalal has not got time to enjoy the feeling of anticipation of kids. I hope we get to see him enjoying looking forward to fatherhood with Jodha.

We have had a negative track for quite some days. Let's hope the treatment is more positive and we are spared serious MUs and lots of rona-dhona in the next few days at least. 😊

Well written.Radhika .I feel that burning the takth comes after he knows what all MA did for the want of power. From killing Bairam Khan to ruining Ruku's feminine right of being a mother. He feels betrayed that MA ,whom he had always kept at a pedestal ,high above his mom had stooped to such low level. The want of power had overpowered the mother in MA for him.

I found this on the internet. I found the story fascinating so I am starting a new thread so that more people get a chance to read it-

The Mughal Emperor Akbar seems to have promoted (without much success it would seem) widow remarriage amongst hindus.

But it was in the case of Sati that his measures actually ended up reforming Hinduism.
He was quite disgusted with the whole concept of Sati as is evident by one of Abul Fazl's quotation of Akbar on this subject in the Ain-i-Akbari. He had an earnest desire to put a total, unconditional ban on Sati. Unfortunately, many of the prominent Hindus at the time opposed an unconditional ban on Sati, and so Akbar had to drop the idea since he did want to take any such step without evolving a general consensus on the issue.
On the question of Forcible Sati, however, he put his foot down. Forcible Sati was banned throughout the Mughal Empire.
It is a historical fact that on at least one occasion, the Emperor Akbar was obliged to stop a case of forcible sati through his personal intervention. The facts are as follows:
Once, Akbar heard that a lady of a royal Rajput family whose husband had just died was being forced to commit Sati. As soon as he heard this news, he immediately climbed on his horse and rode to the house of the concerned Rajput family *by himself, all alone*. [His personal security guard, when they heard the emperor had gone off all on his own, galloped after him.]
He arrived at the house just in time to stop the Sati taking place; already the woman was being led out of the house for the Sati site (after having been drugged). By his sheer force of personality(he was all alone) he was able to stop the sati from taking place.
[This particular incident, of Akbar stopping the forcible Sati, is described in detail in V.A. Smith's book, 'Akbar the Great Mughal']
In book 3 of Abul Fazl's Ain-i-Akbari (chapter titled 'Happy Sayings of his Majesty'), the greatest of all the Mughal Emperors, and one of the greatest Emperors of India and indeed the world is recorded as saying:
"It is a strange comment on the magnanimity of men that they should seek their deliverance through the self sacrifice of their wives."
Credit for abolition of sati rightly goes to Raja Ram Mohan Roy who did a lot of work in raising awareness about this social evil, but his predecessor in this matter was the great mughal emperor Akbar who was to my knowledge the first Indian emperor to have officially banned forcible sati in his empire, thus contributing to the fight against for women emancipation.

I also heard this story from Abhay - he said Akbar rode non-stop to reach the place where the sati was to happen.

Yesterday, Abhay also posted how Akbar was so deeply affected by women committing Jauhar in Chittor and Ranthambor that, on his return to Agra, he didn't go to the DEK for 3 nights and 2 days!

Agree totally. A historical program imposes certain limits on the characters and situations. it means we will always be fighting the ratings game with one hand behind our back, but that is the price one must pay if one intends to do justice to a historical.

Request to CVS:
1) Please make Akdha intelligent (more than villains) like in Atifa track and keep their characters consistent and not degrade one to glorify other.

2) Please close previous tracks before introducing new ones and not entangle all the tracks and make it boring and confusing.

3) Please for god's sake show a balance of villains and leads (not 80% villains and 20% leads- make it 50% leads (solo and duet), 20% side characters and 20% villains or something along these lines

4) Please write MORE novel, fresh, meaningful Akdha scenes and SHOW us EPIC LOVE- u can show passion.love and chemistry without kissing too- you just have to know how to write scenes- fantastic IF JA members can help you with this)

5) Please show Akbar and his navratnas, his reforms and Jodha (HK)'s influence in politics and her elevation of powers. show well-shot war scenes too.

6) Please punish villains and REVEAL EACH of their crimes from beginning until end IN FRONT OF ALL when it's their farewell time- e.g. Maham Anga- from her hand in Ruq's miscarriage till Chand's begum...- another e.g. show Ruq's misdeeds and conspiracies too in front of all and if not then punish her at least in private and then redeem her if needed. For now, she seems to be ok but either make it positive or grey but not full vamp. and if u do make her full vamp, then punish her too.

7)For god's sake NO salim-anarkali track and no huge leap either and keep Parijat as Akdha and I doubt PariJat would want to be parents to 15 yr old and most are interested in Jodha Akbar story NOT salim-anarkali track.

Awesome post, Donjas. Hope CVS pay attention to ur thread.

I am FINE with the romance and I have no complaints. I don't bother to measure the distance between their bodies if it is 2 inches or 5 inches! I care about the eye locks and the FEEL of the scene not so much technicality.

I MOST DEFINATELY 1000% WANT TO WATCH ONLY PARIDHI AS JODHA AND RAJAT AS JALAL.

I do not want to watch anybody else. I love both of them and I think they are doing fabulous jobs.

I would love for more prominence to to Maan Singh, Todarmal and new entry Adga's son.

Infact i find JA romantic scenes very subtle which suits my taste...many people complained about lack of passion in SR scenes where as i found it to be one of the best picturised SR which one could see with family without feeling awkward...just my opinion everyone has there own likes and dislikes.

5) No leap for sure...that will be suicide for the show...
6) Decrease the negativity in tracks, n increase positivity...please...
7) The show is Jodha Akbar...NOT Jhaansi ki Rani...n a show which has Akbar, can only be Akbar centric...nothing else...ALL TRACKS HAVE TO BE AKBAR CENTRIC...period.

khushi you said it all what i wanted to say but still would like to throw my two cents with these two points..

-Romance
i too think that a love story is incomplete without proper romance but the trps completely do not depend on just romance..how i want is that romance should be a part of the track thrown like a pinch of salt to show their bonding as epic lovers, and i want it to look more convincing and natural..for example in yesterday's episode when they both are lying on the bed, if jodha would have put her arm across jalal it would have looked more natural and intimate rather than her folding the arms around herself which looked a bit forced, as if the director wanted the other way but had no choice..the hug was comparatively better..whatever the case maybe i want the actor lacking in showing romance to pay more attention to the details..!

i also want as someone mentioned earlier jalal giving time to other khaas begums be it ruk or salima as complete devotion towards jodha will be against history as jalal in reality also married many after jodha and also gave other wives his time..cvz do not have to make it the central part but would love to watch it being more realistic!

-History
Donjas, very well explained by you that a track on sati abolition should be shown, i would love to watch greatness of the real Akbar, i do not want this to be another SBS!..i also want to see the track where Akbar had langar in the pangat when he went to meet Guru AmarDasji..! i being a sikh would love to see such a track where Akbar's secular belief would be strengthened more! i want all the upcoming tracks to be jalal centric and close to history with a strong involvement of jodha wherever she actually was according to history!

The guru visit is a mind blowing idea. The visit of Akbar to Goindwal to pay homage to Guru Amardas has all the makings of a blockbuster. It will get a lot of publicity, and if they present it well, for example show a divine light instead of some actor playing the part of the guru, then controversy will be avoided.

Either way the show will get publicity.

I too want this story of early Sikh history to be shown. We all know of the atrocities that later Mughal emperors inflicted on Sikhs but the critical role that Akbar's benign rule, even forthright encouragement, as with the golden temple, had in the growth of the fledgling religion needs to be told.

I agree that romance part could do with improvement.
