I wish IF technical team reads this and offers some solution.
It is very irritating to see direct download start and then having to stop it everytime.

Maddy, I have symantec antivirus installed hence I do not get this on my mobile as well..I would recoomend using some kind of antivirus before hitting this forum. why I say this is , in between upgrading my software I had uninstalled my antivirus and each time I hit this forum I would get so many popups with automatic download..all went fine after upgrading my antivirus

Thanks Sindhu, I do have anti-virus on my mobile and tablet. It is just my mobile s/w is earlier version, tab has absolutely the latest and mobile starts download cos my anti-virus s/w is set to check s/w after it is downloaded! Tablet is latest s/w so I immediately get message harmful s/w and it does not start automatic download on tablet but on mobile page just freezes. I don't say ok but even if I try to go to previous page each time s/w starts downloading and I have to stop it manually.

Maddy,
I access IF a lot from mob. I don't get the problem you said. But I get a message that some certificate is from a different site. And I press Accept this time only. This I have to do every time I want to open a thread or even go to the next page on a thread. 😕

Hope your problem gets sorted soon!

Maddy IF ke saath humesha koi locha rehta hai...zyadatar waqt yeh open nahi hota ya phir warning milta hai...I guess its quite harmful for any device.

You will have to have powerful pop up blockers if you want to access IF peacefully. My husband said the site does let in a lot of malware and other kinds of unwelcome sites (though maybe not viruses directly)
My previous laptop that didn't have the proper anti-virus software did crash after a few months of IF usage. 😕

This thread is an eye opener. I'll stop reading IF from mobile right away!

Clear the cookies on your device. When. I tried to login, I faced a message saying Cookies disabled and it wouldn't let me login. I think it was a hack..might be some kind of virus or malware. These things happen and sometimes even anti viruses can't do anything.

They are adverts targeted for mobile users. The thing is that too many of them must be opening, leading to overload on the RAM of your mobile

I face the same problem! But what ever it do not let the app download. It is mostly a malware that will hack the phone system. 😔
