Coming to the present.

Why is it that men are always, but always, given the benefit of doubt; the woman almost never?

Even when Jodha does something right, she is criticised. Even when Jalal does something wrong, he is given the benefit of doubt?

Agreed Jodha may have overstepped the limits of propriety by going personally to care for Khyber. But then again, these rules of propriety are set by men and women are expected to follow them. Anyone who sidesteps them, like Jodha, is decried as "immoral".

Why isn't the benefit of doubt given to her, that she may have some reason in mind to act like this?

Didn't Jalal learn anything from the Sujamal track? Then also he wrongly blamed Jodha. Later he realized what an egregious error he had committed. And he chastised himself for having doubted a pure soul like Jodha.

Why hasn't he retained that lesson?

Fighting for the underdog or being sympathetic to them is not new to Jodha. He has seen this in the cases of Moti, Shehnaz and Tasneem. He also knows that Jodha is not shy of going to the prison to meet prisoners, like she met SD.

Then should he be so surprised to see her in jail?

I feel the reel Jalal is being shown as someone who forgets his lessons all too quickly, esp where Jodha is concerned.

How about his own behavior?

We have been defending this reel Jalal's behavior, track after track. I am also part of this "Defend the undefendable Jalal" campaign. But for how long?

He made out with Benazir just to spite Jodha. He goes to Ruqaiyya just to make Jodha jealous and insecure. And now another woman, when his own (beloved ?) wife is going to give him his much-awaited waris!

It's not as if he doesn't know the needs of a pregnant woman. He was so caring of Ruqaiyya in her FP period. He was fawning over her like a Persian carpet under her dainty feet.

He is so protective of his own sister, BB, in her last (?) stages of pregnancy.

Then why is he so indifferent towards Jodha? Does he think she is too self-sufficient to hardly need him for any support.? Whether the 16th century or the 21st, women who are self-reliant are generally left to fend for themselves, while women who pretend to be lost and helpless (like Ruqaiyya in the FP track) are over-pampered.

Somehow this black magic concept is very off-putting. Even now, a man with a roving eye is excused for having an EMA and the whole blame is apportioned to the other woman, who is supposed to have done some black magic on the guy and the poor guy is supposed to be not in his senses - that's why he strayed.

This kind of thinking / explanation makes me very irritated.

May be in this show, Atifa genuinely knows some trickery to control his senses. I doubt it, but I will go along with it till it is proved otherwise. (Even Shehnaz was supposed to be spiritual initially, but later, we found out that was not so.)

But still, I have read in books on hypnosis that it is difficult to hypnotize a person with a strong sense of self. If this is so, how do we explain Jalal falling under the spell of Atifa, considering we believe him to be an extremely strong personality?

Many times, we think this is all Jalal's plan and he will turn the tables in the climax. But that never happens. It didn't happen in the Ben track, when he didn't realize who Ben was till Jodha drank the poison. It didn't happen in the latest war track, where he was taken captive. He had to be rescued by Man Singh, while the war was tactically won by Jodha.

Please note that I am talking exclusively of the reel characters here. Not the real ones. 😊 Till Abhay confirms this really happened, I will take the Atifa track with a jar of salt.

Why is the reel Jalal so devoid of common sense, so forgetful of his experiences, so trustful of all the wrong people (in spite of claiming he doesn't even trust his own shadow), and so, so callous towards his beloved wife (who, he claims, is his life itself)?

What are the CVs trying to show? That Jalal fumbled and tumbled his way to greatness? That he was gullible enough to fall into any and every trap and had to be rescued from it, despite himself?

And what are the CVs trying to show thru the reel Jodha? That her life was a highly tragic one in which she suffered great ignominy, in spite of being a khas begum and the MUZ?

The show sucks at this point and the only ones who seem to be having a gala time are the villains. They seem to be pretty ingenious when it comes to planning attacks on Jalal. From vish kanyas to so-called spiritual ladies to evil temptresses - there is no dearth of innovative ideas.👏

The funny thing is that, almost always, the main villains are female and their weapons of destruction are also female.

PS: I really don't see why the fact that Jodha is carrying twins is being so stressed here. An expectant woman has the same need for love, care and tenderness, whether she is carrying 1, 2 or more babies. Jodha's carrying twins is not important at this stage of the story. What is important is that she is pregnant and her husband, instead of attending to her (even after promising her), is shouting at her at the least excuse, while himself running after a married woman. 🤢

I Know that it is ' supposed ' to be a 16th Century Polygamous Setup, but then ALSO it is NOT Difficult for a any lady(even today) to understand HER First Reaction, as was Jodha's Today, after witnessing what she SAW ..!!..

I agree Jalal has many Wives, But here try to analyze HER Situation NOW..>>..

1. She is Pregnant.. And she is NOT wrong in expecting that she will get Jalal's TLC now. { Didn't Ruqs Get Jalal's TLC during her FAKE pregnancy.?. }

2. I guess, since, she is carrying Twins, perhaps needs Love, affection, Care, etc. etc. Even More.

3. In above situations, she SAW >>

a. Jalal with the Lady (Atifa) in Hamam.!!!!. { But it was Seemingly Over, as Jalal "assured" Her about HIS "Mistake"..}

b. Later she SAW that painting in Jalal's Hojra, which she EARlier THOUGHT to be HERS, was ALSO of someone ELSE...

c. Next is What.?.. Perhaps, she will be even More Shocked to see that, "THIS Painting Lady" has become too much AZEEZ to Jalal.?. in DEK.?.


Consequent Reactions:

Any Pregnant Lady, will NOT Like to see all the above happening with HER, as what is going to happen/and IS happening with Jodha. Personally, i do not think anyone will SUPPORT / Justify her being in such a plight.

Also, even in the Present Case, Jodha is shown as DIFFERENT from ANY other Begum of Jalal.
Ruqayya can see Jalal going to ANYONE..As she is his Bachpan Ki Friend, perhaps she is Used to it. But, even Ruqayya has RESTRICTIONS when it comes to Jodha. She can see Jalal with anyone BUT Jodha.

Jodha is also, in a similar manner, NOT inclined to See Him with Others { Though, she admits that it is the Right of Shahenshah to go anywhere.}



Is there Any Comparison of Khyber-Jodha and Jalal-Atifa.?.

This is the Worst Possible Comparison i can think OF. The depiction Itself made it clear. What Jodha did FOR Khyber was a return for something, Khyber Did for the Waaris of Mughal Sultanate.
And , what is GOING to happen NOW for Jalal-Atifa will BE a TOTALLY DIFFERENT Saga.!!!.

If like you wrote this is reverse Sujamal track and she turns out to be real Nigar - Jalal's step-sister then all the Jalal Alifa romance suspicion will be washed away.

Maybe if Jalal recognizes her - for some reason! - and she tells him she is the real Nigar - Jalal will wonder about Shehnaz and they might decide to keep quiet till the truth comes out. So meanwhile maybe Ruk might try to poison Jodha's mind with cheap talk about Jalal Alifa romance.

While Jalal and Alifa might be wondering about Shehnaz and finding CB. What if this track leads to culmination of so many tracks?

Real CB is discovered and she tells that MahaC had taken her daughter away from her for the takht and khajina and farman? CB recognized THIS Nigar as her daughter.

MA will be exposed for holding CB.

Maybe Ruk will plot all this and Jalal will realize what she tried to do with Jodha and MA will also do Ruk's bhandafod after she is caught.

Shehnaz will be dispatched back to her bandi mother.

While Alifa might say she does not want any takht just a good safe life with her husband and mother and Jalal will send them somewhere.
