A small town in Himachal Pradesh - Manali, India. It was night time and cool breeze was blowing outside. A small college is situated close to the mountains. Focusing on the college campus around the dorms area; three girls were standing on the common ground that separated girls and boys dormitory.
Girl 1: "Where is she?"
Girl 2: "Let me guess, she's finishing up her assignment at last minute. As always!"
Girl 3: "You guys are right." First two girls look at her who was looking up titled towards the sky. They follow her gaze which lands on one of the windows' on third floor of girls' dorm. Certainly, they saw a girl, leaning over the window, a pen touching her gentle lips and huge stack of paper in her other hand. All three of the girls' hit their fore-head at the same time and shaking their head disapprovingly, they made their way towards the dorm's entrance.
Continuous banging on the door made her roommate angry, who was having her beauty sleep.' She yelled, "Can you get the damn door!" Hearing the commotion, she snapped out of her line of thoughts, looked around and as she realized the situation, she walked towards the door.
She hadn't even fully opened the door when her three friends jumped on her screaming all at once. She struggled out of their grip but their screaming didn't stop. She crossed her arms across her chest and after bearing them for about ten whole minutes, she yelled, "SHUT UP!"
All three of them dropped dead silent in the next two seconds, and her room-mate jumped out of her bed and looked at her as if she was insane. Her friends screaming hadn't awakened her but her one yell had done that.
Calming herself down, she spoke reasonably, "What in the world are you guys doing over here at..." she paused, glanced at the watch above her bed and continued, "...at 11:00 of night?"
Girl 2 replied with a dramatic voice, "What are we doing over here? We?"
Girl 3: "We are over here to remind Ms. pari' that we are supposed to be at a party at this moment."
pari gave a confused look and searched her brains to remember if they were really supposed to be going to any party tonight.
Her three really good friends gave her a look that clearly said, Please don't tell us that you forgot!'
pari murmured hitting her fore head, "Oh shoot!" She said a little bit louder, "Five minutes and I'll be down."
Girl 1: "Five minutes." Saying so she pointed at pari and then behind her, at the door as if to say We are waiting, you better hurry.'

Two cars were zooming at full speed at different location on the same high-way, as the night seeped by the cold breeze started getting chillier. Four young guys were goofing around in one of the cars' that was a Volvo
-? Said on a serious note: "Dude, I seriously can't believe that we are driving all the way to Manali just for one party."
Guy sitting in the passenger seat replied, "Speed it up. We have to reach there at least fifteen minutes before the hand hits twelve."
Boy 3: "Seriously? If we are just going for a Christmas Eve party, we are having one at Xi'an too. Why are we travelling six hour long route?"
Guy, who replied earlier, replied again, "'Cause it's a special invitation."
Boy 4: "May we know who this special person is who gave you a special invitation?" emphasizing on the word special.'
-? : "You don't need to know. You're getting to go to a party for free. So just enjoy and have fun!"
Saying so, he and the guy in the passenger seat looked at each other and exchanged a knowing smile.
Shifting off to another car, ignoring the chilly night, the car was open roofed; a dazzling blue sports car.
Girl 3: "I can't believe you would actually forget."
pari said in an apologetic voice, "Sorry! I have an assignment due tomorrow and as you guys know -"
Girl 2 finished: "- You just started on it today."
pari gave an innocent nod.
Girl 1: "Why are you even doing it? Tomorrow is your last day here."
pari sighed and getting into an explanation mode, she said, "Well, this is an important assignment that will determine my classes at Xi'an since its standards are much higher than our small college."
pari slowed down the car and eventually it stopped as they had reached their destination. Getting out, she said, "Night, here I come."

Another car stopped right in front of pari's car. Four boys hopped out hollering, creating a bad impression on the girls who were looking at them with Are - you - serious? look. Deciding to ignore them, girls started to enter the party area. Just as they were about to go inside the door, the boys pushed past them and went in.
The boy who seemed to be the leader knew it was wrong and thus said without looking at them, "Sorry." He didn't say it loudly but pari did hear it. She said in mind, Maybe he isn't that bad as others.'
Girls followed and soon the party mood took over. A boy was passing by them calling the name, rajat' The name caught pari's attention and she tried to see who the boy was. Her friends kept on talking and she ignored them though pretending to be listening. In reality, she was peeping over them to look at the source whose name happened to be rajat.'
She sees the boy heading towards the bar. rajat was sitting on a chair with his three other friends while the boy who called his name comes. His three friends knew he wouldn't agree but the other boy offered him a drink. He shaked his head to say no and says something but from pari's point of view, she couldn't hear what he had said. All she could make out was that this rajat' was refusing a drink which was highly alcoholic. She smiled at her above inference, Maybe he isn't that bad as others.'
Focusing on their conversation, rajat gave a disapproving look saying, "Guys, you all are only 19. Not even legal to have a drink!"
The boy laughed and comments, "Dude, it's not even that alcoholic. You of all can manage one drink. Come on." He insisted rajat but he was firm on his decision. His reputation did mean a lot to him. But it wasn't worth drinking and making one self-suffer just to stand up to other's expectations. He followed his own terms and morals.
shourya, the friend who was previously driving the car, said in rajat's favor, "He is right. Neither one of us is going to give up our morals for such cheap things."
The boy left feeling totally offended and told off. While leaving he muttered, "Whatever!"
pari witnessed all of it hearing only few bits and pieces of it. She was at distance of hearing but still the party voice faded out the conversation.
Unknowingly, a slow smile crept up on her face. She hadn't even seen his full face as of yet. Just a side of it and had heard his flattering whisper.
A snap was made in front of her that made her blink twice. One of her friends asked, "Are you listening?"
She replied, "Yea."
Second girl said, "So what do you want?"
pari was confused as she really wasn't listening. She hated lying but she sure wasn't going to let them know that she was eavesdropping on a stranger's conversation. She narrowed her eye brows showing she was thinking and making an educated guess from the question, she replied, "Pink lemonade."
She got a nod from her friends and they left her to fetch the drinks. She was about to say, "Not all three of you have to go!" But too late, they had already left her by herself. At least she was glad that she didn't get caught in her small' lie. She had managed to make it seem like she was listening all along.

Every one's head turned to the source of voice coming through the microphone. "Alright, enough of chatting, and gossips. The hand has hit twelve and its Christmas night! Let's make it worth a bit more memorable in a special way which makes it unique for each and every one of us. It's Dancing time!"
The room cheered woo-ho, as small smiles to big grins lit up everyone's face. Soon the smiles on the young faces turned into a confused frown when they heard the next part.
"But, not in our regular way." Seeing the confusion the host continued, "A spotlight will hit few random teen-ies present in this room, and each of them will be handed a blindfold. Girls will get red, while guys get white. Once you are handed the blindfold put it on and the person who handed you the blindfold will make sure it is securely in place and you cannot peep, then will lead you to the middle of the floor. Girls and Boys lining opposite each other about fifteen steps from each other. When you hear go' Guys will walk straight' and the first person their hand touches will be their partner. When the song starts, you start dancing. Yes, with blindfolds on!"
"So let's start with spotlight blindfold dance." And the lights went dim, as spotlights started hitting random people. rajat and shourya were talking casually while their conversation got interrupted as a bright light shined on rajat's face. As he felt a tap on his right shoulder, he looked behind him to see a blindfold in front of his face. He shook his head, grabbing the piece of white cloth he handed it to shaurya. pari on the other hand was surely following the spotlight as she was curious to see who gets chosen. When her eyes fell on pari her heart skipped a beat. She tried to get the rhythms of her heart beats back to normal as she saw for the first time rajat's lean, hard jaw shaped handsome face shine like a demi-god in the spot light.
As the spotlight dimmed to hit some other random person, pari could still make out his glowing face. Weird how she could still make his features out in dark when she just saw him for about five seconds that too from distance. While she was lost in her thoughts her friends returned and were about to hand her pink lemonade but the drink only made its way till mid air as spot light shined on pari.
As one of her friends tied the red cloth around her eyes, the first thought that came to her mind was, "Will my partner be rajat?" She sent out a silent prayer to the almighty, "I don't even know him, but please let him make his way towards me.

As the host said "Go!" rajat slowly started taking steps not knowing whom he will be leaded to.shaurya on one side followed rajat's steps while pari's friends on other side were watching who was about to crash into their friend.
rajat caught his breath as he felt a soft tingle of skin touch his rough yet smooth fingers. He so wished that he could see whom he just chose to do his first dance of the night with. He tightened his hold on the delicate wrist as he led the unknown girl towards him.
