7/7 Yalgaar ki taiyyari

Yesterday's episode focused on war preparations on both sides. An analysis of it,

Side 1 - Shen, MCB, A Mali - Somehow I feel MCB lives not in Kabul but, in some ionic cloud floating in stratosphere. Nothing else explains the ease with which people come and go to her castle that looks Aladdin's after he had abandoned it because of some weird vaastu dosha. 🤢

MCB displayed her blatant disregard for hygiene by showing Shen that she didn't mind blood and gore on her walls. No wonder her soldiers wear gas masks. 🤔

I really didn't understand the significance of this scene. Did AM & S travel all the way from Agra periphery to Kabul, just to get a pat on their backs? They could have sent pics over snapchat and saved their horses some trouble. 😕

HQ meanwhile looked pretty pissed that, he got a raw deal. But does he have a choice? I can guess at least 10 of the cusses he must be mentally hurling at his uncle. 🤬

Side 2 - Jalaal and Co - Of course my bias would make me say, this side will be victorious. ☺️

But Jalaal's scenes dealt with the practicality of war preparations. Before I could holler at CVs for showing that Mughal army was threatened by HQs 40,000 strong army, they mentioned that most of the army was involved with other campaigns across the country. Fair enough.

A mention of the cavalry and elephants. Akbar was known for extensively using elephants in warfare. And given that HQ's army would have no experience in fighting against the elephant army, this would be a great strategy. 👏

Taking his harem with him - This wasn't unheard of. Humayun did this too, and that's how CB and Nigar got lost in the first place. But as we know from spoilers, his ladies will be his bodyguards a la Chandragupta Maurya. 😆

Somehow, my heart did a little dance, when Maham's plan was foiled.

Precap - My observation and prediction

Yes yes yes, we are all happy, actually ecstatic that Jo is in family way. but, a few observations,

1. We have a new hakim sahiba. 😆

2. Jo's changing expressions (?). A question mark, because, I don't know if whatever I noticed actually happened. Soon after hearing she was with a child, Jodha broke into a wide smile, and in a moment worry line creased her eyebrows, perhaps she realised, that she couldn't share the news right now because Jalaal was preparing for the war. 😒

And now prediction - Having watched the series, I've noticed that usually after the Tilak/getting ready, Jalaal would immediately leave for war, and since the harem was supposed to accompany him, I would have assumed they left immediately as well. Then why was Jodha lying alone in her hojra with just Moti at her side? Has the entourage already left, and Jodha stayed behind citing health reasons?

Yesterday, Shen's knowledge of the fort architecture was mentioned a couple of times. A sign of things to come? Putting AM in charge of the war with Jalaal will Shen come down to the fort to gather clues about her mother?

MA had already put CB in her hojra, perhaps, after landing in mahal, Shen & Jo will have the much publicised duel, and somehow, CB will be released during this, leading to Shen realising it was MA and not Jalaal who had kept CB hidden all these days, and thus realise MCBs role in brainwashing her?

Me and my fantasies... 🤪

And two more observations

1. The new montage. One of the early trailers of the show was shot in the same location, with Jalaal praticing swor-fighting there, and seemingly killing a pigeon that sat on his sword. And now he and his Jodha beghum are doing an Olympic inauguration at the same spot.

2. Shastrapooja - This was the second time that Jodha did tilak to her darling hubby, and the difference between the two scenes is marked. Lat time, she hesitantly put a tika on a Jallu who was dressed in his jarabakhtar, while now she proudly puts a tika on her pati and his shamsheer. By the way, the pati looked like he was going to hold court and not fight a war. Why Jallu why?We got a bonus song. When the scene started with J tying his jaama strings, how many silently said "a second late, sigh..." 😉😆

All in all a good epi! 👍🏼

(3) Talking strategy- I somehow liked Jalal talking war strategy with the "guys"- it was a rare occassion

(4) Jalal outsmarts MA albeit unknowingly by asking the harem women to come with him

(5) Jodha's good news in the precap. If the spoiler that Tansen will be called in for Jodha there is likely no issue with the pregnancy in the short-term

I am still puzzled by the Mirza Hakim angle as I thought he was a villain in history.
