Jodha's and Zee's positioning that what they showed today was to show how women need to stand up for themselves and have a voice ... But, I have always believed that the right cause and justice was above gender. Women's rights is a part and parcel of human rights.
True!😊It was difficult to see Jodha defend Shehnaaz with strongest of dialogues, go against Jalal, and not waver once seeing Jalal's conviction and belief in Todarmal. However, it was circumstances and the CVs that made Jodha in the wrong today ... Yes, she did not have to be that strong in her defense ... But she is allowed to make this mistake given circumstances.
No... there is still a difference, right? When Jalal blamed Jodha he did so after nearly three weeks and many influences like (MA, her meeting with Sujamal, Jodha lying etc)here, Jodha has only seen TM and Shenu once..😕
Jalal also once doubted Jodha's character given circumstances ... And then many, including me, understood his circumstances but did not agree with his impulsive anger. Similarly, I think it is only fair we give Jodha some slack ... She is a victim of circumstances and Shehnaaz's plotting. The only question is why does she trust Shehnaaz so much?
Jalal questioned Jodha inside her hojra. Here it was a DEK, so it didn't make sense for Jo to behave that way.😕One more thing, there is no point that we keep falling back on what'd happened between the two. After the Ben incident we thought all MUs were to be put to rest. Then, it was the Sujamal incident. There needs to be a line drawn where the couple don't keep regressing...
However, just as the key was Jalal has always learned from his mistakes ... my only ray of hope is that Jodha learns from her mistakes as well through this track. This is not the first time she has misjudged character- remember Sharifuddhin? So, let's hope for the best or I see no reason why she was vehemently shown to defend Shehnaaz and attack Todarmal today.
This is where I have no hope, Divi... she has never and I doubt if she will ever accept she's done faults too. She is quick to forgive others no doubt, but she never seems to think she has faults. The contrast becomes even more evident when Jalal keeps apologizing for every line, word and deed.
While today was not Jodha's day, I felt Jalal and Todarmal stood out today and that is what my take 5 will focus on:
(1) Jalal-Todarmal-Atgah talk politics: I was glad Jalal could talk about something beyond babies and flirting ... He not only won a war but also discussed the taxes issue with Todarmal. I am glad he had not forgotten about these issues,
Again, with Maan Singh's victory, it was nice to see the rise of another Navratan.
And our other navaratan, Rahim was super cute today.
I would still prefer a couple of episodes without Akdha in it.. the pair and their scenes are becoming quite boring now... which couple keeps sleeping on laps and doing oil massages on a daily basis.. I would rather just have 1-2 akdha scenes a week but with QUALITY in it!
(2) In the Jodha-Jalal interactions, the romance was sweet but the same as usual. But, I liked Jodha recognizing how Jalal's goodness made him choose the right people on his court ... As this is always what I said, Jalal did take advice and was supported by people ... But it was his goodness that he recognized the right people for the right things.
The problem was Jodha forgot Jalal's sense of judgement later in the episode.
(3) Jalal trusted Todarmal ... Continues to be a testament of his good sense of judgement and hats off to Jalal for trusting Todamal
And he rightly asked Todarmal, why he didn't tell him before. But mistakes make you human.
Small mercies.. I genuinely hope Jalal doesn't go into his usual 'Jodha was always right' wide grin once all this is over and that he tells her sternly 'That she was wrong and that she is capable of committing mistakes too' When audience are rubbed with 'Someone is right' 'Someone is right' 'Someone is right' mantra ALL the time, it can get quite tedious... at this point, even smaller faults start looking bigger. This is what's happening with Jodha's character (and that of most serial heroines) they are always portrayed like even their follies were done with the best of intentions and that at the end of the day, their sacrifices are the most glorious. It's not the case always. Sometimes it helps to not do something assuming you alone know what's right for others...😕
(4) Jalal held his own in front of Jodha: I am glad Jalal held his own in front of Jodha when he knew he was in the right ... Both in their personal interaction as well as the DEK where he gave Todarmal openings to defend himself.
I wish this continues AT the end of the track and AFTERWARDS too.. I would also like him to hold his own when he expresses a desire to be intimate with her... I mean how sexy is a man who knows how to be assertive (not authoritative) about his wants...he looks so bleugh always begging her to spend some time with him. I mean who's the emperor? Who's busier? And isn't Jodha that one who's got competition in the department of vying for Jalal's attention? Then, why is Jalal always yearning for her - DEK, Atgah discussions whatever! And she constantly smiling away or running away or choosing distractions (like MB or Rahim) over Jalal? 😕(5) Todarmal continues to give himself a strong defense ... And I love his continued composure and logic in difficult times. Hence, he would be the Navratan that he was. After all, gold glistens when under fire.
He is the only one worth watching in the entire serial now.. 👏
Let's see how it plays out ... After all Shehnaaz will end up losing in the end of the day and we will see Jalal and Todarmal coming out stronger for this ... And hopefully, Jodha as well!
