wow! 17th century king ka jawab nahi😉But roshanehkhan, was that embracing or embarrasing😆
16th century he hardly lived few years in 17th century
but this is more of hug by 21st century standards
those two maids are staring as if some serial/film is being screened cannot they look ahead atleast 😆😆
the maid on jehangir side looks angry too as if ready to admonish him
and jehangir instead of looking at wife is looking away far off - may be his fav wine bottle is lying there
must be thinking "yeh to chipak hi gayi yeh kab jayegi yahan se aur kab main wine pee sakunga 😆😆
and look at jehangir's hand it has some sweet in his hand and looks like nur jahan hugged him saying "nahi mat kaho diabteics ho jayega" and he is wondering how to shoo nur jahan off and put that sweet in his mouth
And look at their feet looks like jehangir has stamped over one of nur jahan's feet
only nur jahan ko iss pic main romantic bata sakthe hain baki sab apni duniya main mast hain

Hahaha! This post is very interesting! 😉So this foreigner comes to India during the inauguration of Aurangzeb's rule and overhears gossip about r, Jahangir's, Au...'s grandfather's love style.

What passion ran in the Moghul family! Now I'm wondering whether Jahangir and Noor Jahan

fought like cats and dogs, because she wouldn't give him the drink or biting and scratching each other was an outlet for their overflowing emotional rides...😃

So they bit and scratched each other with such furious love 👏 until he got over his compulsion to

drink more...ha...? A good and interesting way of satisfying oneself.

even more stupid things these foreigner wrote that anakrali was akbar's cocubbine and his son daniyal's mother and jehangir had affair with her.
and shah jahan had affair with jahanara
they did not leave one family relation of mughal emperor in spreading nonsense and malicious and highly outrageous stories in their books and letters
In 16th century when even wife is in parda or ghunghat how the hell will jehangir have affair with his step mother when he cannot go into akbar's harem and those times society is so rigid (if you assume that anarkali was akbar's cocubbine)
and even more outrageous is that jahanara having relation with her father just because she took care of him during mourning period and after death of her mom and he made her empress.
it was more like dynasty serial of star TV in 16th century i feel all these stories are just imagination of these foreign tourists outrageous malicious gossips of imagination.
If it was 21st century they could be sued and taken legal action for writing and suggesting such things.
They were like paparazzi of 16th century

this song is plaing in my earphones & quite suits the story & i'm grining reading your post 😆 hail to manucci the gossip men

Res 😛 sorry i'm on mobile can't write much

Un Res 😊

Manucci account are always sorrounded by controversies with some of the blunders 😆 like he said akbar was born in persia but akbar was born in sindh etc but still many writers quote manucci accounts &

this account you mentioned have orignal support from jahangirnama

in the memoirs for the year 1621 jahangir him self credit & appriciate Nur Jahan that she acted as a personal physician to him 😉 jahangir said '' Her(Nur Jahan) skill and experience are greater than those of the physicians... She by degrees, lessened my wine, and kept me from things that did not suit me, and food that disagreed with me."

the man himself admiring her wife with pride 😳 & it's said you can't make a addictor quit so easily so chances are there such things happened behind the walls 😉 most of the historians says Nur Jahan Jahangir shared a very intimate relationship 😉 the duo was a

romantic couple too 😳
we have a eye witness too 😉 Thomas Roe presents a charming picture of Jahangir and Nur Jahan returning to the camp one night from a romantic bullock-cart ride all by themselves ...
Roe was in the royal courtyard, waiting for Jahangir, when "suddenly news came to put out all lights, the King was come, who entered on an open wagon, with Normahall, & a vow by bullocks, himself carter, and no man near." 😳

anything which is given to Nur Jahan by Jahangir given with so much love & honour 😳
the title Nur Jahan which is given to his beloved wife Mehrunnisa derived from Emperor Nurudin Jahangir own name ❤️

the coins which are stuck with Nur Jahan name carry the following lines 😳
Persian Lines
Ba Hukm Shah Jahangir yaft sad zewer,Banam Noor Jahan Badshah Begum zara

Translation
By the order of Jahangir, gold attained a hundred times its beauty when the name of Nur Jahan, the First Lady of the court was impressed upon it.

From right side Nur Jahan name is written on 1st & 3rd coin

From right side Jahangir name is written on the 2nd & 4rth coin

i love reading & talking about Nur ❤️

thanks jodah for the info 😊so such things happened behind the walls😉 in 40s & 30s both jahangir & nurjahan were very much romantic 😳

I agree that Jehangir loved Nur Jahan very much like teenager romance they both in their 40s and 50s
Jehangir was a very secure man allowed his wife to have coins after her
Also allowed her to sit in durbar in his absence on his seat and listen to issues and pass orders
Shah Jahan allowed mumtaz to sit behind him on throne when he passed judgements and if she disagreed she would hold his shoulder in her hand and whisper her opinion
Atleast two men who gave equal rights to wives in 16th century and were not shy to display it openly . But Nur Jahan misued that power to promote her family and spilt Jehangir's while Mumtaz used it to isolate Shah Jahan's other wives and kids from other wives.
Salima begum did the same for Akbar but behind purdah in women section not on throne
Aurangzeb never allowed his wives any voice in administration or even family affairs

I guess someone described it and painter painted as women would be in purdah in those days in front of non family males
Most probably jehangir or nur jahan only wanted this pic i doubt anyone else would dare make such painting
