No matter how publicly and officially Balaji and Ekta has removed herself from Jodha Akbar the treatment's telltale sign says it is Balaji after all. Why am I saying this, from my TV soap experience so far!
I refrain from watching any shows and specially Balaji shows, my experiences have not been very appealing so far. First Kutumb and then Kis desh mein nikla chaand and believe me both the shows showed exact same situation like in Jodha Akbar now.

In both shows the female protagonists lied and concealed something big and major from the male protagonist and initially the hero refused to believe anything wrong from their other half but with constant egging from the antagonist and the circumstances right in front of them made them finally burst and explode just like Jalal did last Friday and then the heroine would leave without even acknowledging that they were wrong and then the male lead would be on their knees, begging, crying and asking for forgiveness! I am sick and tired of all this, over and over again!

Why can't there be something innovative for a change, something new, out of the box theory? Are the writers so retarded, so redundant, so repetitive, so saturated that they can't think of something new? It is always to show the female protagonist in a brighter holier than thou light you make the male protagonist look like a malevolent, malicious, egoistic, insecure fool! Believe me I am really up to my brim with all these!

Jodha is dignified and self-respectful and like any other wife or woman felt highly insulted by Jalal's accusations and very rightly so she left, any woman will! Perfect! But what I felt lacking like always was she not for once recapitulated or pondered on as to why this happened. All the blame was heaped on Jalal for not trusting her but not even in her letter or to her own self she thought that she was also to blame for this whole fiasco!? She also didn't blame her brother Sujamal once who very foolishly handled this entire situation? All blame went to Jalal! This is what bothers me CV's all the time! Ek haath se taali nahi bajti. If in real life situation all couples thought like this and reacted the same way there will be no marriages left, I think.

Now it will be Jalal's penance all the way realizing his mistake and looking for Jodha and bring her back and put her in a pedestal but I want to see Jodha's penance as well, both has to meet half way, both of them were wrong, both of them said and implied the wrong things, then why will only Jalal suffer and apologize? 2 person makes a marriage work, onus can't be only on the husband who was not completely wrong in his reactions, then why will only he suffer?

And you are playing with history here, please don't forget that. Seriously if Jalal was like this I don't know how he was declared as the famous and best emperor of Indian history. And now again Jodha after meeting Jalal again will instigate Jalal to get rid of pilgrim tax and he will then be enlightened and will do it. He couldn't think of it on his own even after he was imprisoned for it? He took no action, nothing at all on this regard! Ridiculous CV's, simply unimaginable preposterous emperor you are making out of Jalal!

If you are intelligent enough CV's then I would like to see a new treatment meted out to Jodha and Akbar, if not then like all other shows I will bid adieu to this show as well, not that it will make any difference to you because the Indian audience are so accustomed and tuned to see these scenario umpteen number of times that they don't even feel anything wrong in the story line, treatment or execution!

In hope for the better...hoping you will create HISTORY with this historical epic love story...make it EPIC in every possible way!

Agree to your post, Lana. Though I havent watched any BT shows diligently , but am more or less getting the impression seeing the current ones that r running on TV, a pattern seems to be followed which u ve perfectly described. I hoped as this is a historical & dealing with Akbar the Great, something good would be shown. The initial episodes seemed to prove my faith too. But now, what to say 😕 , this show seems to be the same version of BT s basic plan with the difference being the cast outfitted in royal outfits. Otherwise, its your regular saasbahu soap. And as u said, now the Jaziya tax abolition would also come about with the insightful advice of Jodha begum to our now very dimwitted & very shortsighted Shehenshah Jalal . The downfall started from the child marriage abolition track & it goes on & on & on 😕 .

You put your views very beautifully. These are real historical characters that Ekta is mangling.

Some are of the view that Jodha's thinking today was justified. I am not one of them. I want a balance between the leads. Akbar already has an aura around him, the many good things he had done has been taught from school days.

That is why I wanted Jodha to be some kind of balance. But these days Jalal is even more the good guy whereas Jodha is shown to be shallow, unforgiving and unable to understand the consequence of her actions.

The situation is the exact opposite of the situation in the Vishkanya track when Jalal was the village idiot and vindictive brute of a husband and Jodha was the understanding angel.

And once Akbar grovels in front of this Devi god save all from the mahaan things that Jodha will do in the future like Jaziya, pilgrim tax, sati etc.

Lana, I came back to watch hindi soaps after 12 years, 2 years back for a show that was out of the box. This is my second show since - and my first EK show since she was the one to put me off hindi serials - I actually thought EK might be trying to present something new with her Ajmer and Amer tracks - but no, a leopard never changes its spots - and EK can never change her thinking!!!

the main prob is the balance which is always missing. i also feel tht jodha's disappointment is justified & also she has the right to be angry with jalal as well, but tht doesnt mean once again jalal will be blamed for each & evrything. why cant jodha be wrong for change??? she is also a human being. 2ndly, CVs for god sake plz give jalal sum credits about his achievements. yes jodha had huge influence on jalal, but tht doesnt mean jodha had done evrything & jalal had just listened to her. this show is about both, not just jodha. so jalal cant be just shown as a lover. jodha will do social works & maybe all the works of the sultanate & when it comes to action sujamal will do it. then wht will jalal do??? whts the point of casting an actor like rajat, when his skills r not utilized. yes time to time he gets sum strong scenes like friday, but then once again he stands like a furniture for many episodes.

Wonderful Post !!! 👏
THIS, This is exactly whats bugging me overall with this show now. Balaji Telefilms/Ekta Kapoor has sooo much matter in history about Jodha Akbar to make this show and drag it however much she wants but no she has to throw in her old tried & tested SBS tracks and turn a historical into a normal daily soap where the man is always wrong, only he repents, he is foolish, he is bad and the woman is always right, never repents, super smart, gooder than good.
Today's episode was good for many but I couldn't get past that letter, I just couldn't. I cannot forget that THIS IS AKBAR, i've read about this RULER/EMPEROR when I was in school and again after coming to this forum. I cannot watch AKBAR being butchered like this.
How is it that EK does not realize that we have read about Akbar, his history is more or less an open book if one wants to read it. So how does she even expect us to digest all this nonsense about him??? And as much as I've read about Jodha coming to this forum, even she was not like she is being shown in the show. So at the end of the day the question in my mind is why should I watch this show which has just ended up being a SBS daily soap which is butchering REAL HISTORICAL CHARACTERS LIKE JODHA & AKBAR !!!!!

Gayatri sorry had to go for work so couldn't reply earlier. Yes, you are absolutely right! Now this show is a regular saas-bahu soap with royal outfits. Same age old Balaji formula at work here.

Now every achievements undertaken and completed during Akbar's era will be through Jodha because Jalal here doesn't have the intelligence or foresight to pass any reform on his own! He is the one who is always wrong and has to beg for forgiveness from Jodha and apologize at every juncture. I don't know how people keep vouching on behalf of the CV's that this show is authentic and all this happened in history, which means Jalal was really dimwitted and dense like this! Sigh! What a caricature of history we are watching, my 2 cents say they should just change the name of the show only to Jodha and not Akbar along with the name, then I will know exactly what to expect.
