Thanks Trips and thanks for the even more exciting response! 😊This for me, is a seemingly impossible task that you've set!
If it was easy ... It wouldn't be so much fun!
I say a task because , each & every scene with Jalal becomes Epic. 😊
But, here goes -
1.) The wedding night -
Jalal in full tiger mode, enters Jodha's (seperate) tent, angry that she did not appear when she was summoned, angry at this chit of a woman's gumption to stand up the Emperor of Hindustaan.. Angry strides.. Until he sees the beautiful, fiery princess who is now his. Finally his!
The peace on her face, the beauty of her sleeping form, brings a subtle albeit distinct softness on Jalal's face.. Till he grabs the dagger from Jodha's hand, and tiger-like mounts her, staring her down, talking about wedding vows & the fear he is happy to see in her eyes for him.. while she, half-turned on, half-trembling with fear, stares at him.
This scene had all the shades of their unique & equal relationship! Romance, anger, possessivness, fear & softness. 😳
See how differently each of us describe this same amazing scene ... You must have imagined yourself in this one!2.) Pinning on walls-
My personal favourite. Fuelled with alcohol ( no wonder Akbar lay off alcohol in his later years, I bet Jodha made him 😆) and Ruqaiyya's jibes Jalal dashes to Jodha's suite. It wasn't her beauty , contrary to what people think, that he pushed her against her wall - It was her reluctance. Her terror that she was trying to hide ; that broke Jalal's resolve.
I absolutely agree ... How could she move her face!
And losing control, he pushes her against her wall while hissing furiously, "Aap Humse door kaise reh sakti hain? Hum Aapke shauhar hain !"
If you noticed it was the slight softening of Jodha's shoulders at that point , when he finally left her.
Awesome observation on the shoulders!
I loved this scene because it highlighted Jodha's courage & Jalal's mad attraction towards her.
Jodha's courage in standing up to the Emperor & man she is PETRIFIED of (whatever she might say, she turns into a frightened mouse when Jalal is angry 😆. I don't blame her- I would want to run away to the other side of the sultanate! 😆)
He begins listing the reasons why he married her & how much he hates her. (please Jalal, PLEASE HATE ME THIS WAY TOO. 😆)
There you go imagining yourself as Jodha again!
It is also brought forth Jodha's crazy pull towards Jalal.. She made him do something he would never have done - Push himself on a woman.
That's another reason why I feel he stopped.. More than at Jodha, he was disgusted at himself. 😊
What was interesting here, was Jodha's reaction. She didn't throw fire at Jalal, she didn't curse him later.. But slumped against a pillar, she was crying & telling Moti how she had hoped that this marriage could've worked out, how she hoped he had married her for better reasons ( her famed beauty perhaps? 😉)
I
think she thought he married her just to throw her in a corner ... Not seek her out all the time. 3.) Aarti-scene-
Piously radiant Jodha, her lovely long hair wet & open, with an aarti thaali in her hands, Jalal at the other end, excercising, making sullen faces at Jodha. 😆
It took one look at Jodha's face & all of Jalal's anger goes flying outside the nearest jharokaa. 😆
Then begins their hand-play. Jalal, head bent, standing in front of Jodha, connecting this to his wedding aarti-tilak. Jodha, tad confused.. Jalal, teasing her that he doesn't know how to take aarti, and when he does, that realization on Jodha's face, the naughty look on Jalal's face.. 😆
Their hand play.. The flame dancing, their hands dancing around it, protecting it.. Almost as if the flame stood for their utterly tempestuous & fiery relationship. 😳
Jalal's focused gaze on Jodha , hand over the flame.. Jodha's jerking away the thaali to make sure Jalal's hand isn't burnt ..( why? He is your enemy right Jodha 😆) Lovely stuff.
classic scene ... No P.S on the baandhi that interrupted them? 😆
4.) Body-heat scene-
The only good bit about this asinine event was the scene where Jodha is un-conscious due to another very intelligent decision of her's, of sleeping in the snow. ( how does it snow in a desert? I really want to know which weather forecast does Ekta tune into.)
It snows in Delhi at times right?
Jodha's lying on the tent bed, Jalal, looking like a Russian aristrocrat in his huge fur cloak, is circling her bed with the sweetest smile , full of wonder. He starts flash-backing to the day he first saw her, it is as if he is thinking, is she mine? Really? Has she finally become mine? I cannot believe she is here! Sleeping in my tent!
Russian artistocrat is an awesome description ... I love the way he drops his fur coat by the way
He sits down next to her.. And with raw confusion & some sort of gentle pain.. Softly strokes her forehead with a finger.. Her soft forehead as if made of yellow silk.. The cruel, Jallad Emperor, seated on his wife's bed, staring down at her with such raw confusion & tenderness, it almost brought tears to my eyes.
Confusion- She is mine, yet she is not mine. It is as if there is a glass wall between her & me. Will she ever be mine? Will these gentle stabs that I am feeling, will she ever feel them?
Tenderness - Because Jodha is the only one who can bring out this vulnerable emotion in this mighty & powerful man.
I adored this bit. ❤️
I
loved the way he caresses her forehead and then he leans in ... 😳 5.) Gussail Shehzaadi!
This Jalal. He is the Shahenshaah of Humour too! 🤣
Collecting Jodha's nieces ( I loved the bit prior to this, when Jodha, like any typical wife, hands Jalal her dagger & through her lovely Kathak-like eye movements, gestures to him where this noise is coming from 😳 😃. And Jalal like the very dutiful husband that he is, gets up to do just that.)
But he had a "my wife is crazy" look!
Jalal & Jodha are sitting on the bed. This woman has harrassed him, has annoyed him, has brought him to levels of anger he himself never imagined & recently , brought him to his Death Bed.
So how does our Tedha Emperor deal with it?
By turning it into a sweet bed-time story for her nieces that he loves. 🤣
Sitting on the bed, with the little girls who admire & love him too much already, in teasing tones Jalal begins to tell them about a gussal shehzaadi jise hare rang se sakt nafrat tha (never misses a beat, does he. 😉) about how when a khushmijaaz baadshaah enters the princess's life, she turns his life worse than Hell. 😆
.
Jodha, increasingly irritated finally voices, this is a made-up story, Jalal in faux-innocence asks her, oh you know this story? You know this princess? Then you tell the story.. When her nieces protest ,wanting to hear the story only from their JeejaSaa, Jalal with a wide smile , takes it up again..
When he in surprise, talks about once the princess nearly made a tiger run over the Emperor, out pours out Jodha's musical laughter 😳. Seeing which Jalal is surprised as he is pleased, and more to cover that up, calls Jodha a chudail. 😆
And she has been called Chudail in this forum ever since!P.S. There a few more -
The hammam scene where Jalal gave Jodha bathing practice.
The lovely foot caressing scene.
The Ajmer tent scene.
But you asked for 5, and here it is.. I just hope it isn't too long. 😆 and that you read all of it.
Please describe all of these scenes in your style Trips- I loved it!
