~PART 4 ~~



Both Moti's and Jalal's eyes widened in shock. Moti could not believe what she had just read and Jalal could not believe what he had just heard. His headache which had reduced a little was back at its original intensity.

He snatched away the letter from Moti's hand and looked into the message. He wanted to confirm what he had just heard but poor him, looking at the message didnt help him for he was illiterate.

He handed it back to a shocked Moti and asked her to read the letter again. Moti wasnt even listening to him because she was in a deep shock.

Jalal roared on her and asked her to read the letter again. This time Moti heeded in and read the letter with a trembling voice.

She read it. It was the same. No word was different. It simply said that Jodha had accepted her mistake of meeting an outsider male and that she had hidden this fact from her husband. So to punish herself for this crime, she left the Palace and his life.

Jalal's forehead and palms were sweating. More than the fact that she had accepted her folly, her absence caused his heart to skip a beat.
"Jodha Begum Mahal se baahar chali gayin hain?"..he questioned himself in a shock.

"Jodha..Ye kya kar diyaa tumne..", said a worried Moti to herself.

"Humein samajh nahi aata ke Jodha Begum kyon baar baar galtiyan dohraatin hain.. Pehle gair mard se milti rahin... Aur ab Mahal chodke chali gayin.."..he kicked the side table with his feet, in extreme anger.

"Kya gair mard Shahenshah... Kya gair mard.." said Moti with low and sarcastic tone, tears already rolling on her cheek.

Jalal smiled out hysterically upon hearing Moti's words. Soon his smile turned into mocking laughter, his eyes filled with anger and tears.

"Jee Moti bai.. Aapki Rani Jodha chori chipe gair mard se milti rahin.. Humnein unki galti pakad li to Mahal chod kar chali gayin..." ...he laughed with pain in his voice.

Moti could not help but laugh out sarcastically. With her voice being low and teary, she said to him with full respect ,"Pata hai Shahenshah... Kal raat jab aap yahaan nahi aaye the.. Jodha bahut udaas thin... Unka man nahi lag raha tha... Baar baar roti jaa rahin thi aur humse bhi apne aansoon chipa rahin thin.. Jab humare baar baar poochne par unhone humein apni udaasi ka kaaran bataya.. To humse zyaada aur koi khush nahi tha.. Unhone humein batayaa ki unhe bura lag raha tha ki aap unke paas nahi aaye.. Phir unhone swayam ko bhi uttar diya ki vo aapse prem karne lagin hain... Humein itni khushi hui Shahenshah ke hum bata nahi sakte... (Now her voice turned a little louder).
Aur aapko lagta hai ke vo aapko dhokha de rahin hain... Gair mard se mil rahin hain...".. Moti was feeling disgusted with the very thought. She feared to imagine of how much disgusted and broken Jodha would have felt when she was being alleged of such things.

Jalal was about to faint now. WHAT?!! Jodha Begum loved him? What was Moti Bai talking all about?...

"Ye kya keh..." he was about to say something more.. But Moti cut him in between.

"Beech mein bolne ke liye kshama kar dijiyega Shahenshah... Lekin aapne Jodha par ye ilzaam lagaakar thik nahi kiyaa... Vo to aapse prem karne lagin thin.. Aapke liye naa jaane kitne sankat uthaayein hain unhone.. (Now her voice turned very firm as she was about to say the truth).. Aap jisse gair mard samajh rahe hain Shahenshah... Vo aur koi nahin.. Unke bhai Kunwar Sujaamal hain... Jodha unse hi milne jaati thin... Vo bhi isliye kyonki Kunwar Sujaamal ne hi unhe milne bulaaya tha..aur vachan liya thaa unse ki vo aapko kuch na bataayein... Shahenshah.. Kunwar Sujamal ne aap par koi humla nahi kiyaa... Unhone aapko jashn wale din humle se bachayaa tha.. Paristhiyaan unke paksh mein nahi thin isliye unhe bhaagna pada... Unhe pata chal gaya thaa ki aapke hi Mahal se koi Abul Maali ke saath milkar aap par humla karnewala hai... Isliye vo aapko bachaane aaye... Aur Shahenshah.. Unhone hi Jodha se vachan liya tha ki vo aapko unse milne wali baat na batayein.. Kyonki vo nahi chahte the ki aap Jodha ko galat samjhe...
Jalal stood there stunned and shocked. It felt as if someone had just stabbed his heart. But before he could curse himself more, his mind conflicted with his heart.
When his Badi Ammi had already said that Sujamal had fled out out of Agra, how could Jodha meet Sujamal. Even if he believed that Sujamal had saved him from an attack, digesting the fact that Jodha was meeting Sujamal was too difficult. He was sure Badi Ammi wont lie to him.

His mind was full of so many thoughts. His head was throbbing with pain. On one side, he got to know that Jodha Begum loves him, secondly he got to know Jodha met with her brother but third point that Sujamal had already left Agra contradicted the second.

Above everything was the question that where was Jodha Begum. He knew for sure that if Jodha Begum was meeting her brother, neither would he be able to look into her eyes nor would he be able to forgive himself.

He moved out of the hojraa in a hurry. 😃 😃 😳
