Hellooo my friends,
I am back. 🤗 Missed you guys...
So, here is my new post.
The last few episodes are mainly for Ruq and Jodha and Jalal caught up in between. Here is my few thoughts on them.
Ruq and Jalal were too similar earlier when JA started. So, to some extent we can excuse her behavior and the way of thinking to her upbringing and her childhood circumstances. She got married very early and hence became chief queen during her growing up years. Just like Jalal, she did not have any one aiding to her personal growth. Many people, including Jalal were kowtowing to her every whims and fancies because she was the queen and in Jalal's case, she was his friend. She grew up pampered and spoilt as a result. Jalal and co. is equally responsible for this as Ruq is. Ruq is ambitious and hence craves power over everything just like how Jalal was. She and Jalal grew up to be similar persons and goals.
But, there comes a point in time in everyone's life that they have to own up their actions, come out of the past influences and be self aware. Simply, they just have to grow up. Jalal did and he always had it in him. Jodha was the catalyst to this change. Child Ruq, if misbehaves, can be excused, but not adult Ruq. She now has the intelligence and a mind of her own to adapt and change herself. She can now think and see where she is going wrong and not. If Jalal can do it, she can too. Where Jalal changed, Ruq is still stuck in the past where Jalal was so much like her and she was the center if his universe.
Now, I find that while Ruq and Jodha are different in many ways, they are also similar in others.
Ruq and Jodha both got married to Jalal without free will. Ruq got married when she was young and Jodha for political reasons. Both are pampered princesses (I will not discount the influence of HB, GB, Salima etc on Ruq here). Both married to a person who is always angry and has lot of baggage. He is power hungry and ruthless, and most importantly without a heart or so he claims.
The difference is in the way both deal with Jalal or has delt with Jalal till now. I think the biggest disadvantage Ruq has is that she grew up with Jalal. In order to deal with him, and also because they were friends Ruq became another Jalal. She grew power hungry and audha-obsessed. Hence, without an objective view and an outsider's perspective, she did not realize that instead of becoming her own person and individual, she became exactly like Jalal. Since Jalal claims he is heartless, she became heartless herself. Since Jalal like power and she stared craving power as well and so on.
On the other hand, Jodha is an outsider and hence can see the flaws in Jalal. And moreover, she is her own person, not an extension of Jalal. Hence, she calls spade a spade and hence completely different from Jalal.
Ruq finds it easier to agree to everything Jalal says than facing his anger while correcting him or maybe because she is too similar to him; whereas Jodha always tell the truth, even if he becomes angry. Ruq did not dig in deeper to find out if Jalal actually has no heart or not, she did not try to understand him or understand that he simply keeps everything buried. She understands Jalal at surface value and that is enough for her. Jodha, on the other hand, always tried understanding him, his actions and reactions. Ruq never forced Jalal towards softer emotions. Jodha did, especially during BB case. The list can go on.
Most importantly, for Ruq, spending time with Jalal means playing something, like kids. They are basically play dates. She expects things from Jalal. She is still stuck in past and now that Jalal has moved on; she does not know what to become of her. She is still searching for the past Jalal and still clinging to older days when he is always available to play with her. Unless she grows up and be wise, she will always be alone. But, for Jodha, spending time with Jalal means meaningful talk, discussions and basically adult conversations. Jodha does not expect anything from Jalal, other than the pleasure of his company. She stimulates his thinking and intelligent brain, his softer side and shares his vision for future kingdom.
Jalal once pondered as to why Jodha allowed a third person like Ben to come between them. The same applies to Ruq too. Why did she allow other women or in this case Jodha to become important to him? Why Ruq could not become his soul mate? Does she really love Jalal or love the idea of controlling Jalal? When did power become so important to her than Jalal?
As far as Jalal is concerned, he only knew one way of the husband and wife relationship that is between him and Ruq. But now with Jodha, he realizes that the relationship can mean something else, something caring and something tender. He has now realized what was missing in his life. And what he was expecting from Ruq is something which he got from Jodha. It feels nice to be in a give and take relationship of tenderness and caring, instead of one way road.

There is one more difference kshithi. Jalal has a wide exposure while ruqaiya was stuck to the crazy harem all her life. It is experience that helps you grow as a person. Even if jodha had married suryabhaan her outlook would have been limited. She would have continued to hate the mughals and her sense of righteousness would have been narrow. She has grown due to jalal and his loving efforts though there is no denying that she is a learner.Ruqaiya is not a cheapo or ak or ma ( well as of now, there is no telling how she might be twisted ). As a husband jalal made jodha look at things with a different nazariya. As a friend he also ought to make his friend who has been with him in his lowest moments of his life, to grow and understand. Else he looks flawed. Even the worst truants change themselves when somebody makes sincere efforts. Ruqaiya is only a spoilt rude brat, and she is extremely loyal to jalal and the sultanate.

@ blue ... Exactly...this is because MA talks to her and Jalal doesn't nowadays. This is the exact reason why I want Jalal to speak to her...atleast one sensible heart-felt conversation...don't ask me what...I gave a half-page imaginary convo in adi's thread. 😊
Everybody is on fire this weekend. We have got super posts which have started vigorous discussions. Mandyg, Adrinasr and now Kshithi
Kshiti missed you and will write reply to you asap but first I want to comment on very good point made by Sandhya,
Sandhya very right about the influences shaping life, Jalal has got very wide one and Jodha would have hated Mugals all her life if she had married Suryabhan. I think her hatred was not about Jalal but about what his empire can do to her Amer.
Jodha equated him with his empire which at that time was looting her temples and harming her country.
Jodha has evolved and changed for and DUE to Jalal, similarly Jalal has CHANGED due to Jodha.
Rukayy also has influence of HB, GB and especially SB. Why she could not be closer to SB?
Rukayya should have grown up faster than Jalal because firstly she is a woman, they grow faster than men emotionally. Secondly she has suffered MC and was devastated at the nature of it.
Rukayya who had brains to not trust MA earlier - why has she stopped using her brains?
Who should be most important to her Jalal or MA? Why is Ruk not listening to Jalal but MA. People graviate towards what attracts them. Why is Ruk not attracted to thoughts of SB or HB or Jalal, why only MA makes sense to her?
Jalal is very passionate and at his worst also he was always honest. Jodha is also passionate and their feelings will never be lukewarm, they hated intensely and will love intensely passionately.
Rukayya is shallow because she feels SHE HAS NO NEED TO GROW no need to learn no need to change herself. Nobody else can change you only you yourself can.
I shared this beautiful saying on another post
By Ratan Tata
"None can destroy iron, but its own rust can! Likewise none can destroy a person, but his own mindset can"
Rukayya as a person is rusting because she is not willing to change.

MA apart from being an expert-letter-chor is also an expert-brain-washer. Remember after the dhakka, when Jo wanted to apologise to Jalal how cunningly, the lady manipulated her. Now Ruqaiya is in one of her worst grips...@green...the wisest and best people err. The finest example is Yudhishtir of Mahabharata. The epitome of dharma did everything against dharma. Ruqaiya is neither the wisest nor the best. As I said she is only a spoilt brat.😔@red : Ruqaiya in not rusting, but drowning. Incidentally the drowning can't save themselves. They need someone's support to get on the shore. Help from whom? who else but a best friend?@pink : the discussions will end by this week as Ruqaiya is going to be made to descend to worse depths. Even the few who are still hanging on to the fascinating Smiley version of Ruqaiya will have nothing to defend her. 😆
