Servant announces Salima Begum. Jalal and Jodha both jump up to stand in front of Salima Begum to present their case. Shooting daggers at Jalal, Jodha asks Salima Begum to read her letter. Jalal, not wanting to be left behind, glares at Jodha and asks Salima to hurry up so that he can get rid of his sly minx.

Salima, not knowing that the two people in front of her are on the verge of a battle, takes her time to read the letter. She looks up from reading to see two completely different expressions starting at her. Jodha stands there smiling victoriously and Jalal totally stunned. Knowing that there is some kind of undercurrent in the room, she quickly excuses herself not wanting to be caught in the middle.

Wearily Jalal starts "Where did you get this letter Jodha Begum? I had ..."

"... torn into pieces. I know. Rahim gave it to me. It seems it was in dustbins" Jodha grumbles "I can't believe you would do this to my letter".

Jalal becomes silent after this. "Lord, how did this happen? Why would Badiammi do this to me, her Jalal? I will definitely ask her about this. Not that what Jodha did was completely right. She did shove me to ground. We both were at wrong then. Still, I reacted extremely after that. I should not have hurt her"

Jalal, feeling angry at himself and his Badiammi, "It seems I owe you an apology Jodha Begum. I have done a disservice to you indeed."

"It is quite alright Shehenshah" answers Jodha with a drawn face. "Someone tried to hurt him by reading the wrong letter".

"You can also say sorry now" Jalal goads Jodha, wanting to see the fire in her eyes once again. "Lord, cannot see her sad face. I would prefer an angry Jodha to a sad one any day".

"Sorry? Why should I say sorry? What did I do?" Jodha snaps at Jalal coming back to life once again.

"You have to say sorry for that shove" says Jalal like a petulant child. Jodha, rolling her eyes at her husband's grouchiness says "Sorry. Are you happy now?"

"Yes, very".

"Fine"

"Fine"

"I am leaving now..."

"Please go..."

"I am really leaving Shehenshah..."

Jalal seeing that she has not left wonders "Why is she still here? I have already said sorry. Lord, this is so confusing"

"Why is he sending me away so easily? Can't he see I am concerned?" Jodha thinks to herself.

"Wait a minute. Is she concerned about me? "Jalal seeing through her antics and wanting to torment her anyway says "Jodha Begum, I already asked you to leave. Looks like you do not want to go. Perhaps you like my handsome company".

"Ha! You are so wrong..."

"Dear Jodha Begum, what is it I am wrong about, that I am handsome or that you like my company. Which is it?" asks Jalal enjoying this.

"I do not like your company".

"So, you are saying I am handsome?"

"Don't twist my words, Shehenshah. I did not say that."

"Well, you did not say that I am not either..."

"Why do you want to know what I think anyway? The place where your ego is already full, Shehenshah" says Jodha turning the tables on him.

"Well, it has got another room now. But still, it cannot compare to your's my dear."

"Ufff... I can't argue with you anymore. I have to do Pooja now. Pranam." Saying so, Jodha turns to leave Jalal's room.

As Jodha turns around to leave, Jalal takes her hand in his and using the other hand, tilts her chin up to see her eyes. He asks her softly "I am really sorry. Are we okay now?" Jodha, unable to look anywhere else but his eyes, replies "Yes Shehenshah. I am sorry too. We will be okay now." He places a tender kiss on her forehead and says "Go to your room Jodha, I will see you tomorrow". "And I have an unpleasant job to do".

Suddenly remembering the letter, "Who read the letter last time, Shehenshah? Why would they lie?" Jodha asks Jalal.

Jalal with some difficulty answers "Badiammi..." that one word hiding a sea of sadness.

"Oh!!!" Jodha with concern for Jalal "Are you sure you will be fine now?"

"Yes, Jodha Begum. I will be okay. Do not worry about me. And you?"

"I am fine Shehenshah. Everything will be fine from now on" and saying this Jodha leaves the room.

"Yes. Everything will be fine from now on. I will make sure of it." Jalal vows to himself.
