Part - 1
Jodha was pacing in her room burning holes in the carpet. "How dare he bring up that dhakka again? As though that incident itself not enough, must he bring up those painful memories at every chance he gets? Moreover, wasn't he the one who came to my room, drunk? I don't want to listen to this again and again..." She almost collided with Moti; "What is it?" snapping at her poor friend. Moti for her part was very much in tune with her dearest friend. Not minding her anger, she eagerly said "Rahim wanted to meet you, urgently".
"Yes, I will meet him of course. Bring him in" said Jodha controlling her anger. It would not do good to show her temper in front of a small kid. No matter that the kid reminds her of Him.
"Chotiammi..." Rahim came in running, calling Jodha on top of his lungs. Jodha, forgetting her trouble for a moment, crouched down on her knee to hug him. "What brings you here Khan-e-khana? Are you running from your lessons?" Jodha asked, after kissing him on the cheeks. Placing his finger on his lips, he said "Shhh... don't tell anyone".
"Ok baba, I will not tell anyone. Now what is it? Why were you in a hurry?" said Jodha resigned with the fact that she has to postpone her tantrums session. Rahim started "I was near dustbins and collecting all the discarded papers. You know I like to solve puzzles, and I got...", "But what were you doing near dustbins?" asked Jodha interrupting him. Irritated with this, Rahim said "Oho Chotiammi... if you must know, I was hiding from my teacher. Shall I continue the tale now? You are not supposed to talk till I finish". "I promise; I will not talk. And not for one moment think that you have escaped the punishment for missing classes, my dear boy. Now continue" Jodha hiding her smile, "How like her Kanha to do be so naughty".
"So, I was near dustbin collecting the discarded letters and putting the pieces together. I found one of your letters. I came running to give you this." Rahim completed the story taking a long breath. Jodha saw the letter and became instantly furious. "How dare he? First of all he comes to my room and talks all kinds of nonsense about my letter and then he breaks it into pieces? How dare he do this to my letter? I will show him my wrath". A new kind of battle light comes into her eyes.
Realizing that Rahim is still in front of her, she asks him to back to his study and thanks him for getting her letter back promising him lots of stories once he finishes his lessons.
