I hate it when people needlessly invite controversy. Fatehpur Sikri was built by Akbar to commemorate his victories in Rajputana and to honor Sheikh Salim Chisti.
So why invent a fictitious reason when there is a clear cut real reason. Such things may invite protest of self important historian or somebody else with too much time on his hands.
It is totally unnecessary in the story being told. Akbar could have honored Jodha in some other manner.
Havent seen the epi yet but couldnt help doing a quick search after reading the update...My knowledge on mughal history is limited but i did find the reason of Jodha saving Akbars life as the reason for constructing the city a little too dramatic ...the timeline does not support it ...The ' archeological survey of India' and other Govt of India/ govt of utter pradesh websites do not mention it either. Almost all say that it was built in the honor of Saint Salim Chisti after the birth of Prince Salim. I couldn't find the victories in Rajputana anywhere as the reason either( though this reason makes more sense) ...I'll look forward to reading history_geek's second post on this. For now, the credit should go to Saint Salim Chisti for this beautiful architectural creation.
And...this is the height of cinematic liberty...I read Palak kapoor's statement. She is the creative head of the show." we do not pay much attention to the opposition...we hardly bother as those things happen as you get successful...People need to realize that creative artists like us need a certain amount of cinematic liberty to tell the tale effectively...(JA romance) is being lapped up by viewers as the rising trp graph shows"... This is one of the most shameless statements I have read in the past few days( huge...because I follow politics and statements made by politicians closely😊).
The PH and the channel are clearly engulfed by greed... I think they show such things deliberately to ire people and create controversy thus leading to further rise in viewership...but what is the govt/ courts doing about this?...i see them speak out on less important and more ridiculous issues. Not that the creaters of the show deserve any more attention than they are already getting but clearly the popularity of the show and it's influence on people should be a reason to either put a check on this OR admit that CVs are right and change the information on govt. websites.
Where are we headed? Kareena Kapoor's fevicol dance in the next Jashan? ...will certainly increase trps ...and they are capable of doing that with their ' cinematic liberty' and ' disclaimer' card... which to my surprise some viewers mistakenly think should be enough to protect them...they do get frustrated but believe that the creatives can get away with anything...Alas, ignorance is not always a bliss!
