Abb when this Rang Mahal was built will need to be verified. But the city was built after 1569 and Akbar moved here in 1574 and named the city Fatehpur or Fathpur Sikri in 1574. He kept this place as his capital till 1589. It is said that the city was abandoned due to water but personally I have always felt it was due to the demise of both Todar Mal and Birbal which happened in 1589 that Akbar left the city.

After this period till 1599 he did not stay at any one place for long but kept a moving court. He returned to Agra in 1599 and stayed there till his death in 1605.

i have also read this, when in india i was looking where akbar's tomb is located, because everyone kept saying its fatehpur sikri, but someone read all this to me and clarified that the tomb is in agra..sikandra!

i was also thinking the same..maybe wish expressed for the future, and it won't be built overnite..in those days it must have taken years to build something!

Did he build a palace as a thanks giving to God where Jo later stayed when pregnant?

sandhya am confused too, maybe he built for her and she did stay there when she was pregnant with salim for the safety reasons, as he did not want to take another chance of miscarriage!

BTW iss news mei ek bada hi glaring error hai. As per the precap it is Jodha who wants to go to the dargah while Jalal wanted her to stay and rest. As per the article it says Jalal wants to take her!!! Abb Precap sahi hai ki article?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

first confusion is that, right now fatehpur sikri, as per serial timeline is called only sikri...the word fatehpur will be added later...

And yes m thinking of this palace... I feel this can be a palace of agra...but even agra palace comes some time later..not so early...!

Will update on this if i get some info...

i read ur posts. Yep it was Rang mahal in Sikri FIRST. Before that was only a 'small' hermitage of chishti sahab there. But one great info is that sikri had 'complex of jodha palaces.' i mean many palaces not only a single one...!!!!... Ab pata nahi agar koi palace ki wish Akbar ne pehle di ho for Jodha...!...?...this is something which needs to be grilled...

But m STILL highly doubtfull on this info given in the spoiler...!!...pata nahi...not sure now...!!...

This seems to be a ''future'' desire...Still will look into this...!!

Many things are coming to my mind... will HAVE TO CHECK BEFORE GIVING ANY CONCRETE INFORMATION...!.

TATA SKY also showing jodha will go to jalal fatehpur sikri. THEY get in to trouble due to NON-PAYMENT TAXES.JALAL come to know the unfair TAXation System practised by his Subedars
