The Week That Was ... Memorable

Hey guys this is my first post on weekend analysis and after 5 memorable episodes of Jodha Akbar I am keen to make a post on this memorable week.

I guess this had to be one of the best weeks of the show...the beginning of epic love story, the sowing of that love seed in the hearts of Jalal and Jodha. For most of us who were bored of Benazir's track it was a welcome change to see the Cv finally accelerating the pace of the show in the right direction... the beginning of JaJo Love story.

- First I would like to say goodbye to Benazir but somewhere thankful to her for had it not been for her presence in JaJo life, her being Vishakanya this change would not have come in JaJo life.

- The week starts off with Jalal's marriage to Benazir the D-Day a day Jodha knew would be the last day in Jalal's life. Jodha who was unsuccessful of exposing Benazir's true face takes it upon herself to save Jalal and what a way she choses..by consuming the zehreeli sevaiya which jalal was about to drink himself. Jalal who until then was calling Jodha a jealous begum gets to see the true side of Benazir.

-Benazir on her part was spot on in saying Jodha was dumb to sacrifice her life for a husband who doesn't care for her. Jalal who has been hiding his feelings for Jodha was shown a mirror by Benazir when he mistrusted Jodha and her intentions and how Benazir was able to score over Jodha all these days in fooling him.

-It was beautiful to see Jodha recollecting the vachans given by her during the saath phere...how the destiny chose Jalal to be her husband...her vachan given to her maasa to always safeguard her husband from any threat it became easy for her to consume poison, infact she looked happy relieved that she was finally doing her dharma her kartavya as a wife. Some of us may feel kartavya may not be the right word but I am sure the reason behind all this is her love for Jalal.

-Through out the marriage scene we could see how uncomfortable Jalal was feeling and during "muh dikhayi" he sees Jodha in the reflection and doesn't even glance at Benazir's image. He recollects a similar scene where Jodha had seen his reflection before their marriage. This shows they are made for each other & reflect each other. Beautiful scene...

- Jalal in the beginning though is torn between his concern for both Jodha as well as Rukaiya and I am not sure what to say. Its only when the situation starts to sink in that Jodha is not recovering that Jalal gives undivided attention towards Jodha. I also feel the initial concern he had for Rukaiya was more as she has been his favorite wife, his best friend and Jodha's sacrifice was yet to sink in for him.

- Its only when Hakim fails to revive Jodha and she bleeds blood that Jalal realizes the seriousness of her illness and is shattered. Its like no attempt is successful, no doctor can save her and as we have seen in many instances when all doors close a window opens and Jalal reaches Dargah to seek almighty's help to save his Jodha.

-Jalal at Dargah was again a hearfelt emotional scene where he surrenders himself to Allah and expressed his feelings for Jodha which he had hidden from whole world. He is so right in saying nothing can be hidden from god and he cant live without Jodha and if Jodha is not alive then he too cant be alive.

- Jalal praying to kanha was another beautiful scene..he remembers how Jodha never missed a day's puja and she always shared her joy & sorrow and Kanha always answered her prayers.

- Another heart touching scene was the way Jalal looked at Jodha undergoing heat treatment to take the poison out of her body. There was lot of pain & despair that helplessness clearly shown on his face that to save his life Jodha has to go thru so much.

- I have seen so many shows but never seen such a beautiful love confession/acceptance scene. It was a combination of emotional, sentimental, romantic soul stirring scene where Jalal's soul reaches out to Jodha's soul. Jodha was at perfect peace having fulfilled her duty and ready to move on to next world and there was only one thing that could bring her back to earth that was the love & respect of her husband. What a confession by Jalal when he says he always sees her when he closes her eyes, he always wanna hear her, he may tell whole world he hates her but the truth is he loves her and finally the great realization that he has a heart and it beats only for her. He declares that they are incomplete without each other, meant to be with each other and their identity is with each other & they complete each other. How could Jodha leave him and go ???

-Jodha finally wakes up much to the delight of all and it was great to see her interest in knowing what all Jalal did for her to recover. She clearly wants him to pamper her, worry for her & seemed pleased to know all this and wanted to hear more about him.

-I was glad Jalal didn't become emotional or sentimental in apologizing to Jodha. They still share the same nok-jhonk pulling each other's leg...the same old comfort level was back. Jodha already forgave him after hearing what all he did for her from Moti & Salima. She also appeared very keen to spend more time with Jalal and was still upset a tag bit jealous to hear that Jalal still considered Benazir to be very beautiful.

-JaJo will take their own time to confess their love probably waiting for each other to confess first but the whole Benazir track paved way for them to understand each other better and start their mutual admiration & feelings for each other.

Also feel now begins the journey of Jalal from Jalaluddin to Akbar the Great and Jodha will be with him at every step watching him, guiding him giving her inputs and together their love story will also proceed. I just hope Rukaiya overcomes her jealousy and doesn't fall for Maham's tricks she should realize love can't be forced on someone it's a feeling which grows deep inside the heart.

Great post- I really think this week was one of the most memorable weeks of Jodha Akbar after the shaadi saptaha- I wish they had made it hour long episodes again 😊 I think each episode flowed well together- I am planning to download them all and watch them in go.
One thing on Ruqs vs. Jodha- he was obviously concerned for both- however, compare his reactions when he finds out each is safe- Jodha has completely captured his mind and heart!

Thanks again for posting- this week was worth it.

I loved your write-up!
In Jalal's case, actions speak louder than words. He went to Jodha's side though realistically he could do nothing about her condition. He could do something to help Ruqaiya like jumping on a horse and rescuing her but, we see he didn't. He stayed behind and I believe this connotes so many things about his love for Jodha. This week's episodes were indeed fantastic!
