I agree with you that no love can survive with out respect and trust and these are two things which Jalal never gave to Jodha...We cant compare Jodha's insults to Jalal ...They are not of same magnitude and no third party was involved...

I feel happy abt Jallu...admitting his love /zaroorat for Jodha but it doesn't mean that I am willing to forget all humiliation of Jo...

I am waiting to see how Jallu protect Jo's honor in future and does he make his relationship with Jo private!!!!

I agree to this... Jalal definitely made me melt yesterday... but his DEI I'm never ever going to forget and his almost kiss with Ben! 🤢 🤢 🤢

I initially suspect all emotional outbursts because that's just an overflow of too many mixed up feelings, very rarely the clear picture.

If Jalal the Emperor wants to play the role of a lover , then he better be prepared for heart ache. It just goes with the territory. So saying he can't live without her is fine, as long as he doesn't mean it literally. He will get over her loss. Of course she's not going to die. And that's when the actual get-real Love Story starts. A romance isn't one sided. Jalal will have to react to what he gets from Jodha. What if she sticks to Kartavya as her side of love. Then Jalal will have to accept it with good grace and keep loving her the way he said he does yesterday. He will just have to be glad she's alive and he can set eyes on her everyday. That should be the respect she gets.

After all this drama, Jalal is not going to demand anything from her. I don't even know if he wants to demand an explanation from her. He accepts the blame for both the circumstances and his peevish behaviour that forced Jodha to find a two-in-one solution - save his life and leave for good.😆

When she wakes and finds a remorseful Jalal, I know she will want him to not let go of his dignity. Love, whatever that might mean, can wait.

Beautifully said. Agree that love is a much overrated emotion especially in this case. He is an emperor with an emperor's responsibilities, a harem full of wives, a kingdom full of enemies, and a whole lot of subjects whose welfare needs to be his first priority.

And yes, of course, he did not mean he was going to die if something happened to her, it was said in that first gush of emotions that overtakes one as you have rightly stated. Jalal would have pined and grieved but would have eventually moved on had something happened to Jodha. With all this love for her, in reality, he did move forward even after realizing his love, according to history to marry other women and have kids through other women. But I am ready to suspend belief and pretend that this is a love story that almost parallels the youthful intensity and foolishness of Romeo & Juliet.

Lovely post, TM. I enjoyed reading it.

I thought that Jalal realized his feeling of guilt as well that he did not trust and respect her enough even though she believed in him by showing those flashback scenes of holding hands in the dargah scene. So I think Jalal will regain her trust back in addition to loving and giving her the respect by not humiliating her again.

the two bold highlights - you have shown the contradiction that will plague the show all through.

I don't know how they can resolve this.

When someone says "Is love enough", it is very easy to see that they might hold a very cynical view of the world. And honestly, to each his own. You are absolutely entitled to your opinion but I just want to say that its really sad when someone says "Love is an overrated emotion".
I don't know how humanity can even survive if that is what everyone starts thinking. Its true that now a days everyone plays fast and lose with this word. But in my opinion, this emotion in its purest form is the only thing that keeps this world from destroying itself.
I don't know what kind of a husband they are going to show Jalal as after admitting his feelings but one thing is very clear that the great emperor Akbar is admired so much because of his heart, his tolerance towards all religions and his love for his people. I don't think a man who is not capable of feeling love in its purest form would be capable of caring this much about everyone around him.

I also watched episode 14 today.

Rukaiya laying down the ground rules of her relationship with the Shahenshah.

He's her friend, her husband and her king.

'dil' in friendship, iman in marriage, submission in the raja-praja relationship.

she also has free rein in his dimaag...since he doesn't have a heart.

(All this is enough to make things very complicated very fast. I don't think I have the patience to untangle these knotty problems in the harem.)

I saw the same in what Ruqs said and wrote about it on the other thread about whether Ruqs loves Jalal or herself more. A very knotty relationship all around, poor Akbar, the real one, that is :)

yup just read that a second after posting this. 😊

even this Jalal is going to have problems. Jodha may need to get all the rest she can now while she can, coz she's going to be in the middle of it. hahah

Brilliant Post 👏
Agree with you.👍🏼 Count me in too with my shamsheer😆... I end up defending Jodha more because unlike Jalal, she get attacked from all fronts, Jalal, harem waasis, jail waasis as well as forum wasis...so I am forced to get my narnaal ( with baarood) out and stand right next to her.

What is love without respect or trust...mere four letters ! Actions speak louder than words. One can apologize over and over but if the actions don't change, the words are meaningless.

I think I need to say here that when I meant Love is an overrated emotion, I meant the emotional expression of love is sometimes overrated. Love is more than emotion, it's backed up with deeds. Quiet and selfless commitment is also needed. Sober resolve to always want the best for others even when there isn't an entire orchestra playing in the background to inspire me is also love. Not that I have attained to such love. I fall short too. I guess it's the human condition. I understand where you're coming from.
