I was not too impressed by the grilling of Abul Mali. How come he is able to retain a khanjar? Look, Sharifuddin's man actually eavesdrops on Abul Mali's spy talking to him in the prison, disguised as a Mughal soldier. And Atgah & Co. could not plant someone there to do the same thing?

Atgah Khan's sole purpose in life seems to be to say Aapke hukum ki tameel hogi, Shahenshah, and then go to sleep, for it is only very rarely that he actually gets anything done. If Akbar's cabinet had been full of Atgah Khans, there would soon have been no Mughal empire at all.

It is as well that Adham Khan murdered him, probably paving the way for someone more active to take over his portfolio. The added benefit of course being that Adham himself was immediately defenestrated on Jalal's orders. In short, double benefits!😉

As for the much advt precap, I found it so unexpectedly comic that I laughed out loud. It was all so stagy: Jodha making a grand, tragic farewell speech, picking on all the harsh things Jalal had said to her the day before - hamara chehra dekhna nahin chahte... meri aankhen kadachit kabhi nahin khulengi.. aapse vida lete hain... the works.

Then drinking whatever it was with such deliberation, with such a martyred air. Jalal goggling at her from behind his sehra and looking like a prize idiot, and Benazir looking guilty enough fot 3 murders.

Why the devil did Jalal not stop her at the first sip? They could have tested it for poison, and this time NOT on Zakira! Not only he, but no one out of the umpteen bystanders moves an inch till Jodha has emptied the contents of the bowl down her throat, like the little boy in the Complan ad, before sinking gracefully to the floor. In the precap, Jalal had not moved to catch her as she fell, but presumably he does it.

And what was supposed to be the point of the whole zehereele sevaiyaan spiel, not only for Jodha (unless it is an exercise in deliberate martyrdom to prove the truth of her accusations) but also for Benazir? If Jalal had eaten it and been taken seriously ill or had died, Benazir would have been killed on the spot. What on earth was she thinking of, poisoning the bowl to be drunk in the middle of a veritable crowd?

It was nonsensical even by JA standards.

The Hamida-Jalal scene was touching,again so predictable, but still nice. So the Great Romance beckons, unless the roohs are also cheating us, like the Zee chaps. Incidentally, why does Akbar's rooh call her Mariam-uz-Zamani, while Jalal calls her Jodha Begum in every single sentence?

But I too loved the Kaliya mardan painting presentation sequence.

Its very clear that the end of this track was decided from the beginning, which was that Jodha by herself rescues Shenshah by giving her life away. The other thing that was decided is that this track had to drag for many weeks. They just filled everything in between with lot of nonsense and melodrama. I am watching it only for the way the leads personality is growing, their emotions and feelings. Although I miss my clever shrewd Jalal, he is been asked to stay dumb till Jodha gets the crown. I am hoping once again that we get TEDA Jalal back again.

LOL on your comment about Atgah sahib! I was imagining him going to sleep, the scene looked very funny 😆. I deliberately missed all the nonsense from my review, as I have accepted that CVs are not going to quit till Jodha gets this jewel on her head. I like your thought process on AK and Atgah, ek teer se do loosers ko khatam karo.

You crack me up, Jalal looking like a prize idiot and Ben guilty of 3 murders, ROFL. See you are using your brains again, which is not needed as per the disclaimer 😉. Ben already has a ghuspet in the wedding who is going to make her escape after the vish drinking of Jalal. That's why she goes ahead to get Jalal killed, you see she is a pure lady who has saved herself only for AbuMali. Jalal did not stop Jodha because he was took shocked. He knows the ameri mirchi never listens and never gives up, but still didnt expect her to go to this extent. Plus, Ben has been proven innocent many times so he thought let Jodha enjoy the sevayyin and I will give her battiyan after she is done. The thing that happened though is that Jodha ki dil ki batti hi bhooj gayi..

I think the roohs are also fooling us, am not buying no more problems in their life or Jodha not being alone again. BTW, I think Jalal will get Jodha in his room after she falls. As he has promised to not got to her room.. What say??

1)jallu-HB convo

2)Akdha looks incomplete and lost w/o each other

3)Akdha soul talk(though it was trick to increase the trps...i am not a fool to be trap once again)-but whenever Akdha soul speaks...its so pure...divine...passionate...deep love shines in that those scenes...

4)jodha gifting ben lord krishna-kaalia painting...a meaningful symbolism

i agree what a transformation of jodha...though at times she does behave dumb which can be overlook but then overall the fiery...strong...confident Rajvanshi is back with a bang...

I found that lot of movement happened in JaJo's feelings. Their bond is so strong and it shows how much it has grown since Ben arrived in Agra. I am with you, do not buy the soul talk one bit. They are going to create another MU soon. Jodha indeed has come a long way, she will shine like anything next week.

Jalal like most men ( they haven't changed in the 21st century) needs help understanding deeper emotions. He will realize that now, Jodha sees him as a husband before she sees him as an Emperor. This realization by Jalal will truely make her become 'the love of his life' ... I forgive HB for not seeing the imminent crisis because she did do something to contribute to their future relationship. thanks

You are right with all your facts and reasoning. The thing though is that logic does not work in serials or in bollywood movies. They have this mission of Jodha being crowned the ultimate queen, on the way if people are made to look bad then CVs dont seem to care. She did try and warn Jalal again about Ben and he assured her that everything is okay.
As many folks who posted comments in my review said, everyone knows about Ben being a spy except Jalal and Atgah sahib. Jail mein baithe SD ko bhi pata hai, MA ke nikamme paapi bete ko bhi pata hai..You see there is no logic..But there was lot of progress in character building..I am trying to focus only on that as everything else is unrealistic..

Meghana the episode was much better ..

Jodha was back again with that Kalimardhan gift to BEN, how produ Salima to see JO like that while Ruqu & MA unpleasant and BEN got the message even better JO narrated the story...

Good to see the tota not predicted JO is going to be beloved queen of Jalaal.. Now new problems from Ruqu & MA... But Ruqu & MA, Hamida all will realize she was indeed a kavach to Jalaal...

Jalaal-Hamida scene was so good... Still Jalaal says he doesn'es have a heart but one day the women (his love) will found your lost heart and you will free to share everything with her... How apt Hamida words, there ruqu is enjoying with MA while JO is praying to looking at sky asking for help to save Jalaal...

Markabara scene was good.Will JJ realize their love at least realise themselves?

The night shows how all are plans and waiting for the nikhaah morning and JO is thrashing all plans & Shariff is going to get released.

Well, Mandy, I am right here, back from my latest round of my ongoing strugglse with painters, fabricators,. waterproofing experts, tile specialists and fire retardant door installers who have been making my life steadily more stressed out for 2 months now (from Dec 1, likely to continue till mid-March). This is about the repainting and pigeon-proofing of our 10 storey building in Pune. No
prizes for guessing who has got stuck with the whole, as Chairperson of the building assocoation!

I am glad you liked my 2 am take of early this morning on this chapter, and posted an expanded version on my latest Neither a doormat nor a donkey thread as well.

I did not feel like fainting in empathy with Jodha; I thought the whole scene was so stagy and unintentionally comic. I was not prepared to gush over the Hamida and Jalal lovefest either. Everything she said has been said before, and she looks like an awkward giraffe with its baby when she stoops to kiss Jalal's forehead. As for this "loving you for yourself", it is just nice sounding stuff, that is all.

As things progress, I am afraid I am going to be more and more out of sync with the bulk of the forum on just about everything. Someone was actually predicting that Mahaam would be unmasked in the next 2-3 weeks. Some hope! Yahan to GJ ke saath 4 hafte huye, aur abhi bhi usaka khulasa nahin hua hai. Aur Mahaam to purani khiladi hai. And if she is outed and removed from the scene, what of Ashwini's 400 episode contract with Balaji?
